    Ginger, you are a wealth of knowledge. Thank you so much for sharing it us. Your incredible insights to this artist brought him out in a whole new light, and gave us all information that we can use in our own painting experiences. You made an old artist that might otherwise seem, quite frankly old and dead; appear alive and vibrant. I have never enjoyed learning so much.

    I enjoy the Art History so much !! Ginger I appreciate that you go above and beyond to actually teach us about Art, there is absolutely no one like you. Thank you so much Ginger! BTW... growing up, I had this idea that when you owned a "egg holder"... you had finally arrived in life. :) lol... I always thought they were a representation of class and wealth.

    • @gingercooklive
      @gingercooklive  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is so interesting about egg holders.... yet I remember several carved out of wood and some ceramic, some very decorated and other matching china.... Here is the link to one we did on Edgar Degas last year. th-cam.com/video/UBJZGrGGgQM/w-d-xo.html

      I watched the tutorial on Edgar Degas last year and loved it. I think I will go back to it today and revisit. I, too, have seen many beautiful egg holders and loved them. We did not have them in my home growing up, but I had many friends that had them. I think I may go out and purchase one for myself today.. ornate... LOL. Have a wonderful day Ginger ! Enjoy next week, see you when you get back. I will be faithfully on the Online Academy, so many things that I want to paint.

    • @gingercooklive
      @gingercooklive  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you. We will keep doing the masters videos like this because I think this is the kind of thing no one really thinks about and we do appreciate the positive feedback. A THOUGHT ON CLASSES;
      Our classes on line are less than a tube of paint a month.....and come with personal art coaching. And because you are spending more time painting it correctly and not wasting paint redoing everything we have found that our on line tutorials are the best way to SAVE money when painting. no kidding. $26.95 a month includes over 300 art tutorials from basic beginner to advanced paintings. Art work you can sell to keep your hobby going.

    Hi Ginger, I just wanted to let you know that the keys hanging from the young girls skirt in the Chardin painting was on a chatelaine. It is used by the lady of the house or by the head housekeeper in a more affluent household. The ladies kept tools such as scissors, keys, watches and other useful items needed to maintain the family home. Enjoyed the lesson. Thanks, Nancy Maze

    Ginger, I believe the pouch is filled with strong smells, like rosemary so when they would come across someone with odor or bad breath back in the day, the woman would hold the pouch to her nose as not to b offended by the odor
