Kyle Katarn has to be one of my favorite characters of the New Jedi Order. His triumph against Jerec and his Dark Jedi is mind blowing and his philosophy of the Force makes him very pragmatic
I agree. He fully understood that anger is inevitable and that you need to be a well-rounded person to pull yourself back from falling to the Dark Side. Sure, you can get angry, but don't let it consume you. Plus, his approach to the Force is a philosophy I agree with.
I think any of the characters from this era (Real Luke Skywalker, Mara Jade, Kyle Katarn, Kyp Durron, Corran Horn, Jania and Jacen Solo) were all way better
One day Kyle Katarn was driving his speeder near the Jedi Temple, when he noticed a warning sign saying "Caution! Younglings". He slowed down at first, but then punched it anyway - Kyle Katarn is not afraid of younglings.
I think what shows most how overpowered Kyle is is what he did in Dark Forces. He: -Stole the Death Star plans all by himself (took a full cast of characters in Rogue One) then lived (unlike a full cast of characters in Rogue One) -Battled a few dozens of Dark Troopers (Din Djarin struggled against one) -Killed a Kell Dragon (which is basically a very small Krayt Dragon) with his bare hands) -Infiltrated an ISB building on Coruscant, one of the most well guarded place in the entire galaxy. -Fought Boba Fett 1V1 just after leaving the ISB building (so possibly wounded/exhausted by hus mission) -Fought his way across the Executor (some recent comics showed us how impressive of a feat that is) -Destroyed one of the biggest baddest star destroyers the Empire ever had. -Won a 1v1 against Rom Mohc, a trained fighter in an Iron Man suit. -Earned Darth Vader's respect. And then he became force sensitive. And there are still people around there who think Starkiller is better... XD
I will say Starkiller is far far more powerful in terms of just sheer raw force power compared to katarn but Katarn was a far far better fighter and way more well rounded if it cane down to a fight Kyle would win 99% of the time
Why do guys act as if every EU related material are wiped out from the face of the Earth just because Disney retconned them? The books, comics and games are still around for people to enjoy.
With the factor of him getting incomplete Death Star plans, meaning it was highly likely that the Rebellion knew they were looking at a superweapon but not what it was or how to beat it, could help it be canon alongside Rogue One, meaning if you think Kyle's story is canon you might as well be completely right.
@@weasel003gaming7 I think it would have been cool if Kyle was a part of the rogue one team and he was on the battle of scarif and he was put in a shuttle to take the plans to the tantive 4 before fleeing. He would be the only one who would survive the events and chirrut would prophesize Kyle's journey through the force and kyle would just call him crazy.

Kyle is what I like to call a Jedi Ranger. He doesn't limit himself to a lightsaber, or even the Force, and can use guns efficiently if the situation recommends it. To say he's like Clayton Moore may be a bit of a stretch, but I'd say he's a cooler!
I still play Jedi Knight Jedi academy, and was beyond words when you choose path of the dark side and after Tavion you face Kyle Katarn in a duel, the way he fights against you, snatching lightsaber from your hands, grabbing and boxing you then throwing all over the place, he's a fraking beast. My favorite Jedi master next to Skywalker EU version(mando also)😌👌🏼👏🏻💪🏼💪🏼😎😎
I can picture him being a non clone commander that fought with clones for the republic during the clone wars, but along with the Jedi was marked for death in order 66 for he could compromise order 66 since he wasn’t chipped to obey it like the clones were. I can see everything else playing out the same as all of that was just my idea on how they can fit him into the new canon in a unique and interesting way.
Kyle Katarn is my favorite character in Star Wars Legends oh yeah Kyle Katarn should go back in Cannon because he would be a example of how a good character he is.
Playing Dark Forces when it realeased in the Mid 90s was my first introduction to Kyle - I have remained a steadfast fan of Kyle Katarn since. He learned well from Luke- but he did fall completely to the Dark Side causing Mara Jade to find him and turn him back (See also the Jedi Knight: Mysteries of the Sith game).
Ive always admired the unorthodox types of Jedi and Sith. Lightsaber in conjunction with Blasters, using the force to wield more than 2 lightsabers at a time, Using the dark side of the force without being tempted.

Do I feel Kyle was the most powerful Jedi? I do not. EU Luke had a much larger array of powers and abilities, so much so that it could make his character somewhat dull. Do I think Kyle was the best? Yes. His origins are cooler than people realize. He was a force sensitive trooper at the academy. His father was a rebel sympathizer and was killed by a Dark Jedi, this was before the word "Sith" was getting thrown around on everything. He graduated the academy and helped rebels escape. He searches for answers for who was really responsible for his father's death as the details of how he died did not add up and then we get the events of the game. Where he fights seven dark jedi and their master getting to choose whether to be good and virtuous or evil turning fully to the dark side. Powerful stuff. A powerful origin story. And in my opinion cooler than Luke's
Since your doing stuff about Kyle Katarn I was interested if you would do something with his apprentice Jaden Korr maybe like a the story of or a custom mini figure in LEGO or a how powerful? Either way he is an awesome character just like his master and he is extremely underrated

Kyle Katarn is my fav Star Wars character. My first introduction to him was in the PC game Dark Forces. Where he literally stole the Death Star plans like it was a slow Tuesday.
As you said, that every forceuser or Jedi can use all the dark side without becoming a slave to the dark side (fall to the dark side or becoming a Sith), but it is up to the forceuser or the Jedi to not fall in that trap. But the Jedi Council before the dark times forbidden the use of the dark side abilities and that they Denied all their students to learn or try the dark side abilities. That was one of the reasons why the Jedi Council and Masters lost their positions in the Galaxy and their own egos of jealousy against their students were their downfall and that the Jedi Temple was built upon a Sith Temple, that was why the Jedi Council could not see the future, because their vision to see the future was clouded by the Sith Temple, but yoda was arrogant to Anakin and said that Anakin’s future was clouded, but it was he (yoda’s) vision that was clouded. The Jed Council was liking the rush of their anticipations to be fighting in the Clone Wars and not doing anything to find Darth Sidious. Darth Sidious just played them against each other and Sidious had planned for blinded the Jedi Council and Masters to fight a war of shadows with no meaning to locate him (Sidious). Sidious was not the evil genius, he was just playing with the Jedi Council and Masters and kill them one by one. You are just right about Master Kyle Katarn and how powerful he was/is and that his combat abilities and his force abilities and his skills in using “The uncivilized Weapons (Obi-Wan Kenobi quote)”. Master Kyle Katarn has mastered all the skills in combat and is One With The Force, because he submit himself to the Force and not to Jedi doctrine and he has the abilities to fight for The Force (he protected The Valley Of The Jedi) from Derak and Desaan. I still play the Kyle adventures and I will still play them in the future just for the fun of Fun. Very good video bro, peace out from 🇲🇰 ...!
Kyle katarn was NOT a form 5 master. He utilized the strong medium and fast styles. The 7 classic forms literally weren’t even formally rediscovered until just before the Vong War. The worst part of going dark side in Jedi Academy is knowing my character is dumb enough to think he actually killed Kyle at the end. I always imagined Kyle caught up to him quick and "finished his training".
Jedi outcast 2 should be remake!. Kyle are one of the most powerfull jedi after Vader's era. Kids now should experience of his force 5 times jump ability and fast movement so others will slowing down. And especially back flip and front flip when jumping around :)
Even Vader was impressed with KK when he defeated General Moc and destroyed the Arc Hammer all by himself and KK did not have Force powers at the time. Later he will find out exactly who murdered his father and develop Force abilities.
People might not like my idea but the only person I could see playing him in a live-action Star wars film is Scott Adkins because he has the physique he definitely can grow the beard and lesbians he's a good looking dude and badass in martial arts and this will be perfect for a Star wars film what are you guys think

Katarn is awesome! I am patiently awaiting the re release of Jedi Academy so I can play it on switch!
See peeps like this don't get enough respect.
Can you please make one of how powerful was Yoda Mace Windu and Anakin Skywalker both Canon and legends
gerardo covarrubias Anakin/Darth Vader is superior compared to their legends counterparts.
After replaying KOTOR recently and seeing 2:24
Me:Isnt this KOTOR "duel" animation xD
The expanded universe is superior to the sequel trilogy in every way. Kyle Katarn stole the Death Star plans first.
Well a part of it.
Even Vader was impressed with KK when he defeated General Moc and destroyed the Arc Hammer all by himself and KK did not have Force powers at the time. Later he will find out exactly who murdered his father and develop Force abilities.
Kyle katarn: former imperial, then a mercenary, and now a jedi.
I see him more like the Joseph Joestar of star wars AKA: the ultimate husbando
People might not like my idea but the only person I could see playing him in a live-action Star wars film is Scott Adkins because he has the physique he definitely can grow the beard and lesbians he's a good looking dude and badass in martial arts and this will be perfect for a Star wars film what are you guys think
Legends Luke would have taken one look at the first order and simply told Kyle to handle it and Kyle would have. Dude was a menace and a beast.
One day, Kyle was traveling on Alderaan when a tree dare scrapped his cheek.
There were no survivors.
I like this character, & would like to see more of him.
More of him is coing to youtube very soon!!
Can you guys explain how force heeling worked in the eu/legends/the real cannon
Rare individuals were capable of it. It was very rare, especially to heal someone to that point that the garbage sequel trilogy used it as if it was nothing.
@@TheScoundrelsCantina I think Kyle Katarn could only heal himself right?
The high ground does not protect Kyle, he protects the hight ground >:v
