I could deal with the bodywork and dash problems, but converting it back to a proper carbureted engine would get very expensive. It would certainly help if he has all the original parts that were sadly removed from the engine. The whole reason for owning a car like this is because it is a MACHINE, not a computer on wheels. And speaking of wheels, I do love those 14" Campagnolo wheels that actually have proper tires on them. Definitely doesn't have the ghetto look like "modern" cars? have.
@@geraldscott4302 - I'd keep the old parts, but they'd stay in a box. I'd much rather have this fuel injected, as it is. It will never be a collectible show car, so why would I want all that antiquated crap on it? I wouldn't. I would want to be able to reliably go anywhere without worry, on a moments notice.
Yeah what's up with the dash? Was it cheap leather or the wrong leather or what? It looks bad.
@@geraldscott4302 You'd think a V8 wouldn't be that big a deal as long as you had someone who knew how to tune them. I could see a V12 being so exotic you can't easily find a mechanic. Maybe even carbureted V8's are getting rare these days along with mechanics who know how to work on them.
Don't forget that Kevin Smith at KSR performance helped with the dyno tuning.
Ferrari's of this vintage are beautiful rolling works of art, but were made for 5' 6" Italian soccer players with girly feet, not corn-fed farmboys like Wizard. Good luck to the next owner to get it to the Finish Line!
BTW - my friend had a similar vintage Ferrari Mondial coupe. I'm 5' 10" and I barely fit it. The clutch, brake and throttle pedal box setup is tiny and offset to the right - and you need small feet to operate it properly. I felt claustrophobic driving it. I imagine Wizard felt the same way.
They are also very 'rustic' - not sure if anyone born in the age of power everything will appreciate it as much as us old folk that grew up on stick shifts, manual steering, and no AC. "Style before comfort" I always say!🤣
Maybe that’s why Wizard seems so awful on shifting these cars. I cringe every time a TH-camr drives a standard it seems
WORD TO THE WISE!!!!Crown Vics are $2,000 and under in my area (Georgia) a bunch of them, look on market place and buy one if you can while they're cheap.
Awesome job on 308
I occasionally miss mine had one between 1990-1993
Good job getting it that far, Car Wizard. Hopefully someone will finish it.
I would take it over to Vanko for a quote. I expect they could really bring it up a level for $1500
$50K is pretty fair. GTBs are rare compared to GTS models. I’m not in love with the upholstery mish-mash, but for a driver it’s pretty nice. It will sell without a doubt in my mind. You did great work!
Everything must go!
Congrats on finishing the project, Wizard. That was fun to watch.
The new buyer just needs to find a grass verge in Hawaii to do an aggressively fast take off in... Well done guys.
Thanks for taking us for one last ride. Beautiful car!
Our neighbor had one parked in his garage when was I was a kid. Very often on the way to school I would peer in the window and stare at that beauty. For a while they were not particularly expensive. Not at all sure I would purchase one now. But I still enjoy that unique design. Good video. Has it sold?
Fair price, should be sold by end of day. I was guessing $45 before the anouncement. Was a fun series to watch.
It’s so sweet now. Good luck with the sale I’m sure it’ll go quick.
My favorite color. Fluid Motor Union can fabricate a sweet exhaust system for it.
Don't forget the new fuse box
I had a friend in Seattle who owned one of these and drove the piss out of it every week. I rode in it many times and it always felt solid as a rock. Of course that was 20 years ago…
Those fuses remind me of the ones that were used in late '70s / early '80s VWs. Here's hoping you find a new owner for the car.
Beautiful car! Sounds and looks fantastic! I especially loved the cute Magnum PI shirt addition.
Man I love 308s, beautiful car! Good luck on your sale!
Good price for the Ferrari.
You can also install the injection system on old motorcycles. The result is more power and less consumption.
Why selling this car? This is one of the exciting project in this channel.
Thank you for saving that mythical car! Keep them on the road 👌
Only profitable because you are a mechanic with a TH-cam channel.
Thank you Car Wizard 🎉🎉🎉
To my eyes, this is one of the most beautiful cars ever designed. You are going to wish you kept it. 😍
There are a number with over 100k miles on the odo. These are very durable and can be daily driven. The more.u drive it, the better they get. Atrophy is a killer.
Very fair price. Very fair.
One thing... this might be tricky to get past CA SMOG...
sounds like a very fair price, congrats on a nice build.
It is a beautiful car and impressively sorted out by Gerard and the Wizard!
sad to see it go but.... can't wait for the next one mr and mrs Wizzard
The Magnum shirt was a nice touch.
So, our understanding from your previous videos is that it's DOWN on horse power from stock, due to the EFI conversion (which is odd), but, that it runs MUCH better and way more reliably, yes?
Its not down. Stock hp was around 200-220. Its at 200 or so.
@@CarWizardHuh? That means it’s more than likely down on horsepower.
Great work you put a lot of love into that classic
We'll y can't keep em all😁👍 and as Mrs wizard was introducing cluster I heard she spoke a word in Finnish 😯 as she said hyvä👍 it seems this is truly international channel 💪❤️🔥 nice video again, greetings from Finland 👋
I drive the hell out of mine. In fact, I allegedly covered almost 1400 miles in 14 hours and 45 minutes. These are very stout. Drive it!
I've got a friend of mine that owns a body shop and he's got a Ferrari that looks exactly like the one you're showing
Wizard in your best must humble opinion, going back in time starting perhaps 1960s and up. From 1 - 10 exotic automobile list, which one to buy and which ones to run away? I think is a interesting subject. Very nice Ferrari! 👍👍
All I know is my wish is to have thee car Wizard fix my troubled 2012 Navigator...I'll keep wishing😌
It’s a 46 year old car that’s been sitting several years, was in very rough shape, and by Wizard’s estimation, it’s good enough for a weekend but not a cross country road trip given the cars combined small issues.
Still needs a Euro spec front bumper to make it look complete.
Car Wizard, I have a 70 Cuda needing a new owner. It is a big project.
Nice rebuild Wizard , and a very fair price for such a solid runner
I seldom lust after cars that I see on this and other similar channels, but this one, I’d have sold children for. My perfect car.
Congrats on finishing the 308. And congrats on reaching 1M subscribers!
This thing still looks slick. Imagine driving it around town in 1978.🏆
Great project ! If I remember correctly, Freddy drove this into your shop without any doors and the engine barely running . $50k sounds low .
A complete example that demands respect
Car Wizard have Hoovie's friend Van Gogh fix the front spoiler and I think it will look 100x better! PS it sounds amazing nice job!
I think you should invest a little more and drive this car to Vango. The wonderful things they do to Hoovies cars is amazing and a Ferrari certainly deserves that! For anyone who wants this car and fit in it, for reference, how tall are you, Wizzard?
Beautiful - if I had 50K cash (no loans for toys) I would buy it in a heartbeat.
A non-pretentious doodle around classic. Love it.
This car is gorgeous! I wish I have a chance to drive it just for a week.
Great work Wizard. Certainly a great car for the price
Great opening sales pitch 'It runs and drives perfectly but don't try and drive it home!' 😂
😊👍 come out really clean. I remember when it had no doors
i love wood steering wheel. i have one un my alfa and its awesome. the chrome shifter i would change. i had one in a car and the sob is on fire when you go to use it if it sits outside for a min. id get a wood one to match steering wheel.
Either the temp gauge wasn't working, or you were revving the piss out of it completely cold, because the gauge still showed UNDER 140 F pulling back into the shop after your test run... EDIT: Or you showed us the gauges out of order in your edit.
I dont buy the “dont rev it cold” bs. Never seen an engine fail from it in 30 years. Wives tale
@@CarWizard Some old wives are engine designers.
@@CarWizard Surprising comment. I thought that driving gently until it's up to temperature was common knowledge.
@@susannero6401 That was still relatively gentle he wasn't wringing it's neck. It will be fine.
The sale price is quite excellent, and would probably be worth it to buy it and ask Wizard to make it mechanically perfect, then drop it off to Tyler's detailing guy to get it back to showroom... and from there the value should go up significantly.
As for the car itself, while I understand the appeal, I am completely turned off by hearing... don't fly in and drive it 800km... people who bring it to shows tow them... like seriously? I understand what collecting is and that it's not for me. I like cars that are capable of being enjoyed. If it can unpredictably give issues on a short road trip cruising peacefully, it would certainly cost a fortune to drive hard. I would trust the Wizards work made the care more reliable than he leads on, tho I understand the point of protecting himself... still at the advertised price in this video... that's a good price.
Watch Car Trek 4 and you'll see that very same 308, in a considerably worse state of repair, struggle through 1000 miles. So I think it will get you there. You may not be _happy_ while you're doing it though. At least not until a few more things get fixed.
@@johnbrobston1334 I did watch Cartrek 4 and know the history of the car. (it was already mostly broken in Cartrek4)
I was just surprised that the Car Wizard said one should not drive it back home on a long road trip given all the work that has been done.
@@CoolTI-Daniel Honestly I'm sorely tempted to give Crazy D a call and see what Wizard would charge to put the AC together, then see if it will make it to CT. Not gonna try it in this weather at my age without AC.
