🤣 Keep in mind the caster on the front portals pushes the front wheels forward about 5mm. Also portals raise the center of gravity because the axles are 10mm higher off the ground. I'm a fan of straigt axles personally but that comes down to personal preference. Some say straight axles look more scale, but of course there are 1:1 rigs on portals.
That's a good point, I will try to remember. You can always ask me. When it comes to RC4WD bodies, 4.75" will never fit without major hacking. 4.19" will fit Mojave bodies with some rubbing, but they will require trimming with Xtrcab, 4runner, and Chevys. 3.9" tires or smaller will usually fit with no trimming.
Looks awesome man . Im currently in the process of putting a Power wagon cab on my trx4 . Im having trouble finding info on electronics placement an battery relocation. Id love to get a hardbody for it but the budget is too tight right now
These always look so nice, but I can never bring myself to building one because I don't like the idea of having run the small tires. The 4.75s are a huge advantage when offloading. Looks really nice tho, Great work....
Thank you very much! It's true nothing can make up for the performance of a 4.75 but it can be fun to challenge yourself with tiny tires. Be sure to check out my video on my SCX Pro Mojave 4 door, its running 4.75's
@shrinkrc I'm definitely watching that, Thank you. Do you sell the Mohave body or just the parts to make it work ? would you recommend Amain Hobbys or someone ? Again, thank you, and your builds are absolutely amazing 👏🏻 💯
@@ConditionZero76 I only sell body mounts and accessories, no bodies. Unfortunately it seems RC4WD has discontinued the 4 door mojave body which is a serious bummer. Another option is to build a truggy style Mojave 2 door. Amain Hobbies is top notch and I absolutely recommend them for anything RC.
Hi I have a few available! Please contact me at Jesse@shrinkrc.com for info. The reason I don't show them on the site, is I accidentally made them to fit with Vanquish aluminum shock towers only. If you have original plastic shock towers they will need to be modified narrower, to fit with this bed. If I tried to put that in the ad on the site nobody would read it hahaha.
The new flatbed looks great! I'm building an Xtra Cab at the moment as well. Is there any way to mount up scale sliders with your body mounts? I like the body mounts, but I'd like to run sliders to help keep the body looking good (lots of sharp lava rock in my area).
If you are putting it on a Vanquish, you can drill a new set of holes for the stock sliders, just below the factory holes that are in the tabs. Hold up the stock sliders against the bottom of the body, and drill thru the stock sliders with a 3/32 drill bit right into the stock side plates.
@@Yamahatwig Those will be a little bit more tricky. I've seen people make metal sliders with thin tab that slides up in between the body and the moount.
I used mostly the stock setup where it ties into the back bumper, it was a while ago I am trying to rememenber haha. I know I replaced the body clips with screws. Then middle goes down into the shock towers, and I had to zip tie it I think.
@@shrinkrc cool thanks. I just got a phoenix kit and really liked that look. I’m gonna order your body mounts when I have the extra money to get the body
Great job buddy.... 🔥 🔥 🔥
thank you very much!
You should consider adding that flat bed to your store, I would definitely buy one
I might, I want to do a little more R&D with them!
Me 2
Me 3
Do you offer the bed
Another amazingly slick and sick build bro!!
Thank you brother!
@13:40 those are not the turn signals. The turn signals are in the bumper. Kind regards and keep up the rc hobby. Henk Ketelaars (The Netherlands) 😂😂
🤣🤣🤣
Great vid, learned a few things and got some great ideas, keep them coming
thank you very much!
Looks great!!!!
thank you!
So many tips and well explained! Keep it up legend!
Really glad you liked the video, thank you!
Nice build Jesse! You convinced me. I'm going with the vs410. Now I can't decided between normal portal haha

@shrinkrc I went with the 410 phoenix rtr . My local shop had one. Going to pick up the mounts today also
Please tell us the tire specs in every video, makes it so much easier to get an idea what fits and what needs trimming. Thanks man

Traxxas make a front mount for a small battery that might work. Its not too expensive either.
look up Traxxas TRA8223 and you need the front fender liners with it.
We call them flat trays in Australia as well 👍

We call em a tray back in the Uk too 👍🇬🇧🇦🇺🇺🇸👍
🤣
@@shrinkrc we use the term flatbeds on transport lorries that deliver goods etc

👍🏽 Great vidéo
Thank you!
By chance do you offer that flat bed?
Not yet, but I am mess with it and possibly offer it later.
I would love that flat bed for my Phoenix build. Any chance that you’ll offer them on your site?

@shrinkrc it will likely be going on a TRX4 or Element chassis. Could sliders be attached to those body mounts as well?

@shrinkrc The thin tab is kinda what I was envisioning as well. Good to know it can be done! Thank you!
I saw an extra cab on your instagram with the vanquish bed cage on it. How did you mount it? I really like that look.
