I agree with you; however, if you showed this to someone completely out of context I think they’d have a tough time placing it in time. He made an effort to create that image with the jacket he’s wearing on the album cover of Grace Just looked it up: G2 - C6
Just like Alice in Chains’ mtv performance-you could fool anyone into thinking this were today actually. So ahead of their time, “musicians or worse” today can only hope to play in their shadows. People now are copying even the way they look, still and copying the bands that copied them (Radiohead, even deftones). The lead singer of dc fontaines dyed his hair like LS/Alice in Chains’ mtv performance era and has posture like Liam from Oasis.
I'm fairly sure it was his lead guitarist. Apparently, he was given that piece of music, walked around the block a few times and came back with the lyrics in his head.

Yes. I always felt that good song has to be a roller-coaster-ride of chords and vocalization. I only recently heard this song and it got under my skin. I hear it my head all the time. That's when I know I like a song.
irishLAD he already is one of the greats. Just see some of the way legends like Cornell and Jimmy Page have talked about him. The greatest male voice in my opinion.
this is one of those songs that you can feel in the pit of your stomach. it's so drunken, dreamy, deluded, and sweet and sticks onto you. everything about it is perfect
Probably the most tragic loss of live ever in the music industry. This guy would have conquered the world. Elvis/Bowie/Micheal Jackson tier domination. He was that good.
@@keysersoze657 Not at the time, but he could have gone on to real greatness. When you consider how grunge and alternative became part of the mainstream in the 90s as well, I think he would have ridden that wave of popularity as he wasn't so far away from that scene.
I hate that so many of Jeff’s best live performances aren’t on his TH-cam channel and not getting nearly enough attention. I mean this one is incredible and it doesn’t even have 200k views
This is such a great song on a love affair. And that line is so prohpetic: "And I couldn't awake from the nightmare, that sucked me in and pulled me under Pulled me under" given the nature of the event of his tragic untimely death. I'm still so sad about it.

Jeff’s debut album blew mine and everyone else’s mind away back in the days. And Grace still does exactly that, what a voice and a great band around it to make his music live forever . Rest in peace beautiful
I didn’t think it was possible to fall in love with a song.. but here we are so so beautiful 🥹 (also may be on of my favourite live versions of the song)

Check out Live at Sin e . From what I understand it’s the coffee shop in New York City he frequently played while he signed his contract with Sony Music. He asked for a live album to be recorded there, they agreed. I remember buying it in 2004, though possibly released before then, it’s a masterpiece! This set was part of a dvd called Live in Chicago , So Real and Last Goodbye were studio recordings included with the dvd.
Indeed, i sing it sometimes too and i kinda do have some agility, but when he starts alternating between louder and softer voice i lose the strength but i'm not trained anyway so idk. But it's fun to try
he is so soft, ethereal.. he was a sweet person and he will always be remembered as that 💘 ( lo amo mucho me hubiera gustado verlo tocar en vivo y darle un abrazo)

out of this multiverse at least
God yes .. he was one of a kind that’s for sure he just makes it look so effortless .
simply special and beautiful
Fuck yeah he’s out of this universr
As much as his dad's yeah 😂

I like how the drummer just keeps his eyes on Jeff the whole time
Sage Bayme thats creepy actually
Sign of a good drummer
Respect!
he knows he's witnessing a god
He does so because Jeff gives the entire band cues to follow; when to start, when to stop, etc.
His chord choices are so unique. They are as unique as his voice. There will never be another Jeff Buckley.
tbf michael tighe came up with that chord progression . doesn’t take away from jeff tho at all
I just do not get sick of hearing this guy !! No one has ever been able to blend sensibility and aggressiveness with such perfection.
João Rafael couldn’t say it any better
this has been the best description for Jeff I've read
Exactly!!! Completely agree!
You should check out Jimmy Gnecco of Ours. There’s also a great band/project called Neverending White Lights.
The album version is incredible. I can't believe we only had 2 albums from this guy. What a tragedy for him and his family.
We actually only really had one
his voice in this is absolutely incredible
Greatest singer ever, nobody even comes close to this guy
Agreed
Look at how the drummer focuses on jeff :) idk it really amazes me how he just looks at jeff and sees him as a conductor.

I got it on CD, imagine the quality on that if my CD player was a bit better sound quality wise
Jeff's has a gorgeous voice, extremely versatile and expressive, loads of power and tone too.
I had to take a deep breath and stare at my ceiling for at least 3 minutes after the end of this masterpiece.
