Love the walk in for this route over the rivers with the waterfalls on the way to the Bealach.Last time I was in here, we took in Beinn an Dòthaidh from the same start point and never met a soul till we reached the summit.
Hi Andy brilliant you got great views was good to see i was up there am sure it was the start of January last year same conditions on the ground but was clagged in seen nothing so great to see the view's. Atb Ally 👍
Thanks Ally.Yeah was lucky to get the views.Done this one once before (my 50th) in winter conditions when we were getting fogbows and Brockens that day.Really enjoy the walk in to the Bealach on this one with the river crossings and waterfalls.😃👍
Nice one.. Good effort , good hike . Easy to tell you've got your spikies on standing on that ice 😅👍 Well seeing there is a lot more snow higher up, i did a couple of Corbetts near there on Saturday , not much snow but lots of ice ..
Thank you.Switching between Crampons and microspikes this day.No need for the axe. What Corbetts were u doing?I have a few up Glen Orchy looked out and have done a few at Auch and 2 from Strathfillin.😃👍
@itsablack1 yeah...that's 2 of the ones i have looked out.Was thinking there would be a lot of ice climbers down the single track road and might be busy for parking.Think that is a good spot for them.😃👍
@@AndyOB only one other car parked there... Everyone else was parked for the munros , must have been a busy day on the munros.. The proverbial sauchiehall street 😅
Nice one Andy, you would have glad it was iced over as that’s a boggy shit hole lower down😂😂 Great conditions esp on top altho it looked a tad cold🥶🥶 Enjoyed that Andy👍 ATB Frank
Cheers Frank.Done this walkin about 4 times now so it was nice and crispy for a change.Should have put my spikes on from the railway bridge up to the bealach, but like a numpty kept putting it off. They were on the way down straight to the car.Bitter windchill up high, didn't hang about too long.Good to get views. This was my 50th a good few years ago.😃👍
Thanks Craig. The sketchy parts were down in the glen trying to negotiate the icy rocks, lol.Up top it's a broad ridge and sometimes easier with a good layer of snow filling all the gaps and crampons giving u a good grip.😀👍
Do you need an ice axe for Beinn Achaladair and Beinn a'Chreachain or are microspikes and poles suffice this time of year? Did Dorain yesterday fine with poles and micro spikes.
Think we are getting a dump of snow this week so I would deffo take an axe and crampons.Beinn a'Chreachin has a bit of a ridge to it that would have been too tricky without.😀 👇👇👇 th-cam.com/video/6iccmdD70CM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=gmzOwNQtD0FNhxfc
