- Vanessa Tsehaye is a free speech activist and the founder of One Day Seyoum, an organization dedicated to highlighting the wrongful imprisonment of her uncle, Eritrean photojournalist Seyoum Tsehaye, and his colleagues. At OFF in Taiwan, Tsehaye spoke about her ongoing efforts to raise awareness about Eritrean human rights abuses while highlighting the recent historic peace accord between Eritrea and its neighboring Ethiopia.

The Eritrea goverment has solid backbones supported by almost all his People Who lives inside and outside of the country. Outsider pressure simply doesnt work_ since that has been tried in many occasion by The west. It is better to direct apeal to The goverment inside Eritrea.

Yes, we need change in Eritrea but we must fight our fight. If the western countries interfere they will want something in return (nothing is free & it will cost us something) and I am tired of being colonized and control by western countries especially in Africa. We need freedom in Eritrea but we need freedom from western government in Africa too. I hate when Eritrea talking about our problems in the west because last time I checked UN voted for Eritrea to be part of Ethiopia & many western countries did not support or favor Eritreans independence from Ethiopia. In other words western government have a bias judgement on our people & our country and if they take control & power, we will be treated second class citizen in our own home, while our natural resources is taken by cheap payments.
