Mizuno isn't known for making very many changes to their football boots, and even when they do, we tend to see minor upgrades and design changes, rather than big ones. Well, it looks like they're trying to change that, because just a year after the release of the completely redesigned Rebula 3, we now have its replacement!
In today's video we take a closer at the all-new and redesigned Mizuno Rebula Cup Japan, an evolution of the Rebula 3 that introduces way more change than anyone was expecting. The question is, do these changes actually make for a better football boot? I go over exactly what's new and how the two boots compare. What do you think of the Rebula Cup Japan?

Drives me nuts not being able to walk into a store and try on a bunch of Mizuno's.
The best part about this video is how you compare the Mizuno models at the end and talk about where the Rebula Cup fits in the current lineup. This was very helpful to me.

These are so amazing. Ridiculously comfortable. But they kind of seem like they aren't a full update. I wonder if a Rebula 4 will be far different from this boot.

I've had the MIJ Morelia and the MIJ Neos and they are so amazing. I'd say they are the Rolls Royce of football boots.

Bro that's exactly how I would describe them. I just bought the white/silver pair of MIJ morelia DNA and although it was so much money for a football boot I don't regret buying them. To hold they are a thing of beauty. Pure k leather upper. And it's amazing how light weight they are too. On the foot they feel like a glove. They are every thing a football boot should be. They are a work of art. Definitely the rolls Royce.

Okay so I just bought a pair of the Rebula Cup, these are my first pair and I’ve never had any other mizuno products. Mine were made in Japan and literally within 3 wears they stretched literally perfect to my foot. Maybe with the Indonesian version it could take a little bit longer to stretch but none the less fantastic leather.

Hey Jaylen, would it be possible for you to add such angle to the on feet portion which is directly above but from your perspective? I mean like how you yourself see the shoes when you have it in your feet. Although foot shapes are of course different I would love to have that angle in every review.

@@Vikp684 thanks for agreeing 😛 Increases the chance that he will actually see the message and implement it. I think Joshdinho already makes a fine job with the "on feet" since he gives a close view and always makes to sure to extend his ankle, but still seeing it from "your" perspective would be good and relatively simple for him to do. I think it could help you estimate the width of the toebox/boot as well especially if he uses the same height (knee?) for every video.

Hey josh, question: I’m deciding between these 2 boots. The Nike tiempo legend 8, and the Nike premier 2. They’re both the same exact price at the shop near me, $90. Which one should I buy. I’m set on Nike and leather boots so no chance for other leather boots from other brands. Also I kind of like the aesthetic of the legend 8’s over the premier 2. What do you think I should do!!

@@fiimills4655 They are really good. Still using them. I should have taken better care of them but they are still holding up fine. Good touch and good grip from the sole. Very comfortable.

Hi Josh. Merry xmas. Also, if my "true to size" measures at 9 1/4, what do you think would be the appropriate size for this particular model? The best fitting boots I currently have are the Tiempo Legend 7 elite at a 9.5 and the Puma Ultra 1.1 in a 9....and the Copa Mundial in an 8. Madness, I know...thanks in advance.
These boots will stretch far more than a tiempo elite, I’d say go to exactly what u measure on scale, worked very well for my somewhat wide foot type.

It looks like the first Rebula with the FT grip that's been upgraded.
Sad. The MIJ Rebula 3 was the easily top three boot I've ever worn. Ticked all the boxes for me, except for looks... looked a little strange.
But I agree with Josh, these look like a definite step backwards. Complete different direction. The Rebula 3 looks like a 2019 boot, and the Rebula Cups look like they dropped in 2010...
Steven Louis Totally agree. The thing is the Rebula three couldve been improved! A bit shorter. A heel that’s not as high. Maybe a mesh tongue like Neo 3 Beta... sad imo.
If you had t pick between the NB 442 V2 PRO, the Mizuno MORELIA NEO III PRO KL, or the NIKE Premier 3. Which one will you pick? My feet are wider than normal in the middle foot area.

sorry, another question about Mizuno sizing - I got some MiJ Morelia II in 2015 and went true to size (UK7.5/JP26.5) as I was told they would stretch and 'mould to the shape of your foot" etc. Out of the box my toes were pushed uncomfortably right up to the end of the boot and even after a couple of games they were just too tight to play in so I sold them. Should I have gone up half a size or I should have given more time for the boot to stretch? I want to give MiJ Mizunos another try - with either the Reb Cup, Reb 3 or Neo 2 so want to make sure they fit properly this time! I can't just carry on wearing Copa Mundials because they are the only boots I can get to 'fit' me!
Everything MIJ Mizuno aside from the new Neo 3 Beta runs true to size. So if you found the size that you had in your Neo 2s was too small, go up half a size from there are and you should be good to go. I definitely don't think you should go down in size because of stretching. Mizunos won't stretch nearly as much as a pair of Copa Mundials will.

I think the Rv3 Cup looks even better, except I am still trying on Rv2, my pair that is my usual size has given me very bad blisters, I have only worn them twice, 1st time 30 minutes I could not continue in them, the 2nd time 5 minutes and gave up, I really like them so I was thinking maybe if I get a pair that is half a size larger that might solve the issue with very bad blisters on the right feet and blisters on the left is not as bad, however with the pitches shut down I can not try them out, so far Neo2 is the best I have and thinking of getting neo3 but saw a review that the author has 3 pairs neo2, neo3, and neo3 beta, the neo3 beta is giving him blisters so until he solves the issue I am a bit reluctant to get myself a pair! does anyone have bad blister problems with Mizuno Rebula v2 boots and is there any method to solve this issue? Would appreciate some help, many thanks!

Interesting how they put a rivet on the Rebula Cup but not the new Neo. In that color, the Rebula Cup looks a lot like the 2018 world cup color way of the tiempos.

how much does the synthetic midfoot stretch because my foot is superwide in the midfoot? If its not a good shoe for someone like me what would you recommend when i prefer comfort over tech, but not too old school.
They're not meant to stretch a lot through the mid-foot. No boot is really.
Are the laces thinner on the cup. I was surprised at how wide the ones are on the rebula 3. Also if they are thinner that’s 100% how they shaved off those 12 grams.

If you have a choice to buy Morelia 2 vs Rebula Cup MIJ, which one you will choose. I am a wide foot guy too

When it come to comfort which shoe is more comfortable the Mizuno rebula cup or the Mizuno Run Bird zero since in that review you said the zero was the most comfortable shoe on the market
Like I said in the video, the Run Bird Zero/Morelia is still more comfortable to me, but these come pretty close. Definitely one of the most comfortable boots currently available.
Mizuno is just awesome.
After just one training session, I can tell these boots are going to be one of if not my best and/ favorite pair of boots I’ll ever wear in combination with the low profile currex insoles.
Want to try out the Morrelia’s down the line to see how they compare. Pls lmk how you guys would compare the two if you can

@@wtfx5757 a little bit tighter than other boots, but in a good way in the sense that the boot feels like it's hugging your foot although I'm not fully sure lol. That's at least what I think it's like. Idk if this is the same for anyone else with these boots.

If you like the Copa Mundial, the Made in Japan Mizuno Morelia would be the "upgrade" boot that I would pick, if you're looking for something that is a similar style.
If you have use mizuno before, you will know it’s one of the best boots out there.

I would say that you get used to it more than the grip going away. It's not quite to the same level as the Preds in terms of outright grip on the ball, but it's certainly "stickier" than most of the football boots that are currently available.

Sort of. It's hard to compare these to The CTR360 in that they don't really feel all that similar. Like I said in the video, they reminded me of the Wave Supersonic series Mizuno used to have years ago.

Do you think these boots are better than the current Copa line? I’ve been using the Copa 19.1 and I’ve been looking for a new pair of leather boots
I also have wide feet, I tried the X19.1 and it was good for a while but I started getting blisters from it and that’s why I switched to the Copa 19.1 and so far it hasn’t given me any blisters and I like the padding. I have watched some of your videos and noticed that you don’t rate the Copa 19.1 and 20.1 that highly so I’m just wondering what pair of boots you recommend

What I really want to know is how does this compare to the Wave Cup Legend? Does the Rebula Cup feels like a Wave Cup? I've heard amazing things of that boot.
The Wave Cup Legend compares and feels more close to the current Morelia. Not to say that these aren't at all like the Wave Cup Legends, but the Morelia is definitely a closer comparison.
