What another great video!!!! Both the teaching demonstrations of the two ball - one clear and one soft perfectly explains it. And then I love Lucinda's mentioning of the looking at someone's photo with squinted eyes - I've also found that very helpful. I can't tell you how much I LOVE these mother/daughter teaching videos. I'm learning so much! By the way, Lucinda, I love the art references too!!! And I love the glasses you are wearing. They look so in harmony with your soft beauty.
I used to have a light brown red-ish hair. Light skin, neutral. My eyes are light (yellow with green on the outside rim). I think I was an Autum. Soft. I dyed my hair a soft black. After watching your videos I think I am clear. I’m not 100% sure if I am a true winter, though. After watching your videos about clear vs soft, now I understand the low contrast and high contrast. I associate myself with clear not necessarily with winter. Am I confused thinking this way?
Contrast is not just about dark vs light.it's about brightness too for example Emma stone has light blonde hair and skin but she i has bright eyes and glowy Resident skin too 🎉
The similarities between me and Olivia increase every day: we both have high contrast, Filipino dads, white moms, therapists, water signs, and a love of the color purple. "If Taylor Swift was wearing this bright blue color..." then we'd have reason to suspect she was gonna do something during the acoustic set to drive us crazy! (We used to joke that the yellow dress was the "dangerous" one, but now that it seems like she's switched out her set of acoustic dresses, we now joke we're scared of the blue one.) The more saturated blue looks closer to the new blue acoustic set dress she's been wearing on tour. But also, she's on stage in a massive arena, so I think it makes sense in that context if she wears a color that's easier to see than her actual features.
Hello. Can you tell me if my hair is now salt and pepper but my gray hair is definetely more bright by nature and have a lot of contrast with my natural dark brown hair and eyebrows and dark brown eyes and I will not dye my hair dark brown anymore what will I be? What will I be when my hair will be completely white? Thank you so much for everything, I grew up with your knowledge. Have a wonderful day
You will likely continue to be a winter. Salt and pepper tends to stay high contrast. So your season will likely stay even when if your hair goes white. 😊
i really appreciate all the detailed examples and explanations! i do wonder, however… isn’t this just dark vs. light-specifying contrast? rather than soft/muted (grey) vs. clear/bright (saturated)?
@@ColorClassIncyes please. Southeast Asian so deep hair and eyes but my skin is soft (has a silvery gray green tinge to it when pale) and the brights of deep winter look absolutely garish on me but the softest colors in soft summer are far too gray.
Please do a video for medium high, the ish people😊 don't feel comfortable in real clear colors alot unless they are softer or greyish.
Since I found your channel I have binged watched
I love that!!
This is the first time I fully understand the difference between high and low contrast. Thanks!
Great to hear! With all of our videos we never know what example will stick the best so it means a lot for you to say that!
Thanks for this video. This was always a subject that tripped me up, but I'm definitely a clear.
I absolutely adore your videos!!!! Thank you

I have dark blue eyes and light skin (with freckles). Would that be considered high contrast between eyes and skin?
Can't wait to see a color mixing video! ❤
The ball visual is a good one!

And there are some soft summer/ autumn who have dark hair and light skin but are still soft because thier eyes and skin are muted too
How to know you are bright 1- you skin might have an obvious glow to it 2- your eyes are bright 3- you have naturally flushed lips
an easy way is to to test that is to try different lip colors that match your undertone and see how much you can handle.

Thank you, I cant imagine a life without high contrast 💞
Hello! I just wonder if between the soft & clear range, there's a middle point? Like a muted version? Thanks!
As far as I understand it, soft is the equivalent to muted.
We are creating one- stick with us!
Love the Art History!

The dark and light is real- but in this example both ladies have light skin - so the high contrast comes from the dark brown hair color.
Thank you Ladies! ❤
Thank you for the art education Lucinda!
Could you talk about jewelry? I’m soft. & warm. My coloring has faded now that I’m 72 . I used to wear gold but now it seems too bright.
Absolutely!
I would be in the middle more toward high contrast but, soft grayish eyes medium skin to light with dark brown hair. Not summer but not all winter.🎉
You and me both, it’s so confusing.
We are working on something for those of us in the middle- stay tuned!

Sarah, you look great in that soft green!
Oh thank you!
Sara you look great, love those earrings!
Are clear and soft polarities or a spectrum? When we use color theory in quilting we talk about high, medium, and low contrast for the pair. 🎉
Everything in color analysis is on a spectrum plus it’s all relative. Seasons are simply color “averages.”
Love your videos and explanations.
Glad you like them! Thank you so much for the support ❤️
Thanks, u guys have really advanced and getting original content🎉😅
In the summer I have medium light contrast (my hair becomes lighter) and in the winter my hair turns dark (medium high contrast).
And I bet you modify your wardrobe to compensate?
❤️
