This is gold!! So true! I always have a laugh at those tossers. I once had 355 stroker LX SS hatch back with solid cam and all the bits..... I took the 1.8 twincam badge of my missus car and stuck it on there for shits n giggles
Hey, I'm American but I don't care what badge is on it. I'm grateful that the Holden peeps brought a couple over as Pontiac. I love the Commodore (G8) and the Monaro (GTO). They almost brought the Holden Ute as the Pontiac G8 ST but it was canceled once the brand fell and now it's being considered to still come over to the States as the Chevrolet El Camino. That ute is smexy. I will buy one if it does come over. No doubt. Now if Ford can bring over the Falcons. Keep up the good work Australia!
hahahaha "Its ok babe, your fully sick purple VL is still tough" That is classic! I am a car painter and I just finished painting a VL in Purple candy, lol!
Lol Northern Suburbs. So many instant classic quotes in this vid. "Everybody who has neons, a cannon or chromies, leave the room now!" hahaha i lost it when i heard that. "I bet theyre fucking putting them on VNs!" Also, so true about the Opel badge part haha
A Unique and very accurate description of how most of us all feel. And also, love the Melbourne flavour to the video, and i also love the unique aussie sense of humour, that allows most of us to laugh at each other. I do cringe at seeing a Chev badge on an Aussie built car, powered by a GM Engine. it is a bit of a wanker thing to do.. however, its no more wanky than seeing a honda civic with a 4 inch dump pipe, or a Daewoo Lanos with a carbon fibre rear wing... oh well, each to there own i gues
This is simply fantastic. Great video, beautifully put together and we all know it's true. Wonder how long it'll take for someone with a Bowtie badge on their Omega to come in here and talk shit.........
@stingers1, You are almost right. Holden have not used Buick V6s since 2004. The last Commodore to have a Buick V6 was the VY model. VZs and VEs use the Australian designed and manufactured HFV6 Alloytec engine. Also, the V8 LS series engines used by Holden since VT II are not Chevrolet engines. They are GM engines. Chevrolet built their last V8 engine back in 2003.
LS engines have also been used by Buick, Cadillac, Pontiac, GMC, Hummer and Saab, as well as Holden/HSV and Chevrolet. They have almost nothing in common with any V8 engine that was manufactured by the Chevrolet division, apart from the bore spacing. They are a GM engine, they are not exclusive to Chevrolet.
Production of the Commodore (or any rebadged version of it) outside of Australia is still only rumour at this stage. But if it does happen, then I can see that being the end of production of Zeta platform Holdens in Australia. Also, since the V6 engines used in Commodores are also produced in North America for Cadillacs etc, I would also say that would spell the end of the Holden engine factory in Melbourne. It would be be a very sad day when Commodores are built in the USA.
Chevrolet have not built a V8 engine since 2002. The LS engines are manufactured by GM Powertrain division, not by the Chevrolet division. The last Chevrolet V8 engine made was a cast iron SBC engine. The last Holden's to have Chevrolet engines were the 1974 HQ series.
@stingers1 interesting. In America, a few people have converted their Pontiac GTOs and G8s into Monaros and Commodores, mainly because some people prefer the way the Holden versions looked. Personally, I preferred the grille treatment on the Commodore to the G8
The SAAB 9-7X 08-09 models had LS2 engines. Prior to that they used GM Vortec engines. Also, over the last 12 years Holden/HSV have used LS engines in more models than any other GM brand. Don't argue with me about "facts", you won't win.
My old man owns an automatic VY executive decked out with chev badges...even a Lumina LX decal where 'executive' used to be. his WH statesman international rims also have chev badges. i still have no idea why. I could put twin turbo decals and a TT front bumper on my non-turbo 300ZX, but luckily i already drive a full-fledged twin turbo model. some people do that though, just for the trollolz
I was comparing Holden to Chevrolet. You cannot compare a Commodore to a Camaro or a Corvette because the Chevrolets are sports cars, not family sedans. That is why I mentioned the Malibu and Impala.
@79HZGTS yeah its from a german movie called 'downfall' or 'der untergang' or something in german lol all the parodies on youtube have actually got me interested in seeing the original lol
Well the upcoming SS on the VF platform is more of a stop gap. When the model moves to NA production it will sit atop a stretched version of the Alpha platform. Zeta and Commodore production would still exist in Australia.
@FGalaxie, The HFV6 was designed by Holden and Cadillac, all HFV6 engines in cars sold in Australia are manufactured in Melbourne. All of the V6 engines in Pontiac G8s were also manufactured in Melbourne. GM is not Chevrolet. Chevrolet is only a part of GM, just like Opel, Vauxhall and Holden.
Only the pre-2008 V6 Commodores had Buick engines. From VZ onwards the V6s are Holden/Cadillac engines. VT series 2 onwards used GM LS engines for the V8s (you are correct, they are not Chevrolet engines). Pre- VT S2 they were Holden V8s.
Since all GM motors are now made by the GM Powertrain division they are no longer Pontiac, Cadillac or Chevrolet engines, they are called GM engines. Although the V6 can trace its heritage back to the Pontiac V6, it is a GM V6 and although the smallblock can be considered a descendant of the Chev smallblock, it has been a GM smallblock for over ten years. Further, the recent L76, L77, L98 and L99 versions of the 6litre GM smallblock were developed in conjunction with only one other division of GM; Holden. Of all these motors only one was ever even sold in America, the L76 but only for 2 years as a Pontiac G8 and not for sale to the public 9C1 police cars. (and HSV uses LS motors) So if you were to call these motors anything but GM you would call them General Motor's Holdens, hence the practice of some Pontiac G8 owners is to put Holden badges on their cars and even entire GMH front clips. The only reason to put a Chev badge on a Holden then might be to imitate the Middle Eastern release of our cars as Chevs. A fairly "random" thing to do I would reckon.
@wreckage06 Wow man, that is just ridiculous! So if your dad happens to have a modified car, you are not allowed to drive it?? Crazy! I cant believe we let our politicians get away with this crap in this country! Im sure glad I dont live in victoria, we get away with loads of stuff in Tassie :)
@sleazyv8 , So you work at a tyre shop, that you don't own? But you don't have to start work before 10:00am because you work from home as a Sharetrader? I don't get it. Which one is true?
@FGalaxie Mercedes had fuel injection in the early 50s. Just thought I ought to note that. And back on the original subject, here's an analogy to think of; would you put a Ferrari badge on a Fiat powered Lancia? Exactly the same concept.
It dosn't matter where the Commodore is made, what engine is in it or if its a Pontiac or not. Its still a basic car made for basic people. Good in a straight line and lots of room.
I have to agree with Hitler on this one, in my area, western suburbs of Melbourne I see them everywhere and Ive been asking my self "WTF?" so i goggled it and a lot of people seem to agree with me. It's so terrible, I've seen a car with Holden badge on the front and Chev on the back. If it was meant to have a Chev badge on it the makers would have put a chev badge on it, next they'll be Kia's with BMW badges. If you buy a HOLDEN commodore keep the real pure badge on it.
hahahah lmfao epic vid i drive a non-turbo r34 25 gt but its manual taking good care of it till i get full lisence then drop rb30 block rb25 front and we got our selfs a future bullet
Well the Chevrolet SS will move production over here for 2015 IIRC and introduce a new model so I could see the Commodore going past 2018 and probably using the LT1 engine. Chevy is going global more and more, but GM has decided to keep Holden alive in Australia so that could also signify the Commodore staying in production. Glad their not pulling a Ford and killing off future RWD product. Shit dude I'd love to move to oz and own a maloo. Maybe someday.
hehe funny. Although an OPEL badge on an Astra is more acceptable. An Astra has SFA to do with Holden, they are designed in Germany and built in Belgium.
Brilliant !!! Finally the word is out about all these bogans who think Chev badges make their Holdens somehow better ???? Beyond me... Chev's can't go around corners for a start - And the build quality... Or lack there of... Don't start me. Anyway - Well done AAA+++
So you must have also "completely forgotten" about the 2008 Buick LaCrosse Super with the LS4 engine? Your question: There has been no indication that Holden will use anything other than LS engines in the VF SS Commodore, and since Holden has not made any promises about continuing production of the Commodore past 2018, then the new LT1 engine may never be seen in a Commodore. What engines HSV decide to use during the F-series model run is anyone's guess.
GREATEST HITLER SUBTITLE VIDEO EVER..... Had to watch 3 times and wipe the tears away before posting a comment!
This is gold!! So true! I always have a laugh at those tossers. I once had 355 stroker LX SS hatch back with solid cam and all the bits..... I took the 1.8 twincam badge of my missus car and stuck it on there for shits n giggles
Comonsensaintsocomon no you didn’t.
This still cracks me up lol. Top marks for editing.
I love the way they managed to sync up the sentence about the SS, right when he said SS. Very clever!
THANKYOUUUU, i've been looking for a video like this for sooooooooooo long, and soooo well done
Wow - this vid is brilliant!!! I was laughing so hard I nearly coughed up a lung, 11/10 for subject and execution, absolutely awesome!!!
Hey, I'm American but I don't care what badge is on it. I'm grateful that the Holden peeps brought a couple over as Pontiac. I love the Commodore (G8) and the Monaro (GTO). That ute is smexy. I will buy one if it does come over. No doubt. Now if Ford can bring over the Falcons. Keep up the good work Australia!
I don't think this will ever get old.......
@Mcbleh thankyou! your reaction is why i wanted to make this vid in the first place
hahahaha "Its ok babe, your fully sick purple VL is still tough" That is classic! I am a car painter and I just finished painting a VL in Purple candy, lol!
Lol Northern Suburbs. So many instant classic quotes in this vid. "Everybody who has neons, a cannon or chromies, leave the room now!" hahaha i lost it when i heard that.

In Dubai everyone pulls the Chev badges off the Holdens - lol
A Unique and very accurate description of how most of us all feel. "I'd rather drive a fucking non-turbo R34 with a GTR badge on it" So fucking true.
Honestly one of the funniest videos I have ever seen. This is probably because I have put Chev badges on my VE. L O L
This is simply fantastic. Great video, beautifully put together and we all know it's true. Wonder how long it'll take for someone with a Bowtie badge on their Omega to come in here and talk shit.........
Whoever made this, IS MY GOD!
@RezaCHUNWOOKIEE
"It looks hektik bro"
ROFL Freakin' hilaroius! Great work mate. 10/10 :)

Fucking brilliant, need more of this shit!!!
Man... top work. This is GOLD!
@stingers1,
You are almost right.

I have an SSV and proudly with the original dinner plate Holden badge lol. This vid is pure gold ha ha ha.
Holden was in business in 1856. Ford Motor Company didn't start until 1903.

Ahhh. The VL Turbo comment was a nice, subtle touch. Naughty! ;D
That is GOLD..
I get a little worked up when I see it too. :)
Years ago So many Holden owners converted their commys back to the Holden badge after this video was posted.
FUCKING GOLD ... videos like this make youtube absolutely superb ...well done!!
The Commodore is manufactured and sold in Australia. And it has been around since the late '70's. LOOK UP A PICTURE lol
@limpfish1987 thanx! spam it! share it on facebook, car forums, tell ur friends, etc! i wanna get it seen by as many people as possible!
THE BEST VIDEO I HAVE EVER SEEN AND ITS SOOOO TRUE I OWN A VL YOU DONT SEE ME PUTTIN A GT-R BADGE ON IT LMAO
@stingers1 interesting.

Don't argue with me about "facts", you won't win.
I saw a Pontiac GTO with Holden badges on it in a parking lot.
@mrbrendo2 the good response has got me G'd up to make another one!!
Big shoutout to Andrew Bogut for posting the link to this vid on his twitter! haha epic!
Lol at the purple VL reference.. that made me giggle
Awesome. Absolutely awesome. Top job and very well done.
Still laughing at this one - got to be one of the all time best
My old man owns an automatic VY executive decked out with chev badges...even a Lumina LX decal where 'executive' used to be. his WH statesman international rims also have chev badges. i still have no idea why.

@MrSnow042 Yeah, but it won't stop or go round corners with it's low springs on stock shocks and taxi spec brakes.
I was comparing Holden to Chevrolet. You cannot compare a Commodore to a Camaro or a Corvette because the Chevrolets are sports cars, not family sedans. That is why I mentioned the Malibu and Impala.

Zeta and Commodore production would still exist in Australia.
If I had a pool room...this would be going straight to it
I lost it at "What the fucking fuck?!"
hahahaha
the commodore is the pontiac G8 pretty much, except the commodore came first.
@FGalaxie,
The HFV6 was designed by Holden and Cadillac, all HFV6 engines in cars sold in Australia are manufactured in Melbourne. All of the V6 engines in Pontiac G8s were also manufactured in Melbourne.
GM is not Chevrolet. Chevrolet is only a part of GM, just like Opel, Vauxhall and Holden.
thats mad! great vid...liked and linked to all the boys

If anyone gets a note on their widescreen saying 'It's a Holden, not a Chevy, cunt.' in Adelaide. That would be me and my group of friends.
you know what would be an even funnier video, those wanky feather fern things you see on the back of cars in Australia lolol
You mean the silver ferns Maoris have on their cars? Please nake a video of you telling a car load of Maori its wanky.
Since all GM motors are now made by the GM Powertrain division they are no longer Pontiac, Cadillac or Chevrolet engines, they are called GM engines. Dave L I bet you’re fun at parties ya fuckin nerd.
@VTL67 its a massive niche though.. basically ALL car enthusiasts in australia.. or "hoons" as they call us.. there's a lot of us!
To Chev badges on Commodores...Australia says NO!
Brilliant!
@81chappers lol i know, but i put it in to poke fun at the guys from opelaus.com forums
hahahahaha omg this is epic i been doing this rant for years and now i find a video on it!
HOLDENS 2012 KING OF THE HILL AND 2012 CHAMPIONS!
The Cruze is also built in Adelaide.
I haven't laughed that hard in ages. Mainly because it's 100% accurate
@TheFordMan888,
I think he was implying that it is the Chev badge that makes it a piece of shit.
@Gruelius lol serious! with english subtitles? burn it for me!
This is the absolute best!
Nice work.Dam I have a Chev badge on my 350 Chev WB Tonner
Please don't put me down (haha)
Buy the way I have this movie. Bloody Chev Badges!

Exactly the same concept.
The difference is, Lexus is the up-market branch of Toyota.
Chevrolet is a big step down from Holden.
its okay babe, your fully sick purple VL is still tuff
FUCKING GOLD
12 people have v6's with chev badges
It dosn't matter where the Commodore is made, what engine is in it or if its a Pontiac or not. Its still a basic car made for basic people. Good in a straight line and lots of room.
Thing is the Holden badge isn't attractive, at all. If I had a V6 commodore I'd put a Buick or Chev badge on too.
like the idea of a camry, might a say, get the TRD aurion, hahaha :P
To be fair it was joint venture of Cadillac and Holden, but agreed that it's dumb of them to put a Chevy badge on it.
I have to agree with Hitler on this one, in my area, western suburbs of Melbourne I see them everywhere and Ive been asking my self "WTF?" so i goggled it and a lot of people seem to agree with me. @mrossi991 How about dudes with Bundy Utes?
haha this makes my day everytime i watch it... i got chev badges on my ss but waetever i still love it haha

Applause, applause!! Too fucking funny and too fucking true...
this is prob the funniest video on youtube hahaha
sure to stir up some shit in the right forum..lol
I don't understand why people would want to look like they are driving an American-made car? It boggles the mind!
whats a commodore? no, i dont want to look it up either...
What next... Yamaha badges on 1JZ powered Soarers and Chasers.... fuckin hell
hehe funny. Although an OPEL badge on an Astra is more acceptable. An Astra has SFA to do with Holden, they are designed in Germany and built in Belgium.
To be completely honest, I'd be ashamed of having a Holden badge on my car too if I was stupid enough to own one!
and how often do you see corollas with a lexus badge...never! (although I have seen a land cruiser with a lexus badge once)
you are now in the mix with d-d-d-dixie...
Brilliant !!! Finally the word is out about all these bogans who think Chev badges make their Holdens somehow better ???? Beyond me... Chev's can't go around corners for a start - And the build quality... Or lack there of... Don't start me.
Anyway - Well done AAA+++
make one about people putting on such is life stickers on there car
@DJLS1SS they are sold as pontiac's and vauxhall's actually
@aaronjasonknight its still a holden though, so why put chev badges on it?
So you must have also "completely forgotten" about the 2008 Buick LaCrosse Super with the LS4 engine?

@FGalaxie I dunno... I wouldn't say no to an old school Aston (even if the build quality makes Alfa Romeo look like Honda).
AAHHH HA HA HA..... SO TRUE....
SOUTHERN CROSS TATS...... AHHHH I JUST PISSED MYSELF!!!
@Konformation07 yeah holden's are fkn tuff
just look at the marloo ute
