It's so good. I've been listening to this band since 2012. I'm comfortable playing this on repeat constantly on my long drives. The drummer and bassist are so talented. Shoot, who am I kidding they're all great. Look up how much their custom guitars cost... Blows my mind...

It’s just so sexual. The bass, the atmosphere, just the name of the song itself, fucking iconic music. I don’t care how little people know or recognize this, this is fucking real music.

4:06 is solo is so incredibly emotional, it feels like the notes gently fondle with my soul.

I rarely get such an emotional response with music, the only other song I can relate the same feelings to would be the second solo and outro of "Out from Below" by Sylosis.

Recharging the Void by Vektor, that’s a big one for me. This song definitely, and also Fundamental Process by BC. But I always get emotional responses to music (the music I like anyway), so it’s not that surprising I guess.

I appreciate how despite they're being extremely talented and gifted players, they still manage to incorporate "simple" but really memorable melodies along with pretty interesting musical choices without relying on overdoing the "technical wankery" thing, you know... bands who just throw a lot of notes at high speed just for the sake of having them, or even entering on the typical "blasting a godammn lot of changes and variations on key/tempo/dynamics/time signature just because you make progressive music, even if they don't serve any purpose at all" category of bands. Instead, they focus on what really matters: jazzy progressions, beautiful bass counterparts and really precise, tight and inventive drumming. All of it executed with such tastefulness and mastery that other bands can just envy. THIS is how you make an instrumental my fellas.

The more I listen to this band, the more I am convinced that we're talking about true musicians, not commonplace fuck-arounders.

Wouldn't say it's a purposeful homage - the progression is similar because it's often used in music.

imo drums are way "Omnipresent" they almost ruined the atmosphere in some sections. despite this remark it remains one of the most underrated metal instrumentals ever.
