The Sad part is they changed Nami's Backstory a bit from the Manga/Anime and it was the most tear jerking aspect. In the Manga/Anime Nami told her Sister Nojiko why she had joined the Arlong Pirates and her plan to buy Cocoyashi Village from Arlong, Nojiko then secretly told the rest of the Village but in order to help Nami they acted like they hated her. Nojiko actually NEVER treated Nami badly and Nami saw her sister as her one and only Confidant......so for me having Nojiko spit on Nami hurts.... Also I was saddened they toned down Bellmere's encounter with Arlong......in the Manga/Anime Bellmere busted through the door and dropkicked Arlong to the ground shoving her Rifle into his mouth.....so badass..... Oh and Angelina, the Berry is based upon the Japanese Yen....so 100,000 Berry is the equivalent of $800 US Dollars.....
You want to know something crazy? Out of all the bad fishmen we meet throughout the story.........Arlong isn't even the worst. Even if it's only for the simple reason that he will never harm a fellow fishman.
People wonder why adults would watch anime. This is a semi at best accurate portrayal of a anime Live Action. Often the cartoon, or action, or comedic jokes aside do definitely reside in anime. But what is missed is a severe depth of story telling. The story itself would make great shows or movies if the entities that held the keys had an eye for a good story. But they don't care about story, some don't care about money.
Ive seen a couple of reactions of channels with women getting triggered over Sanji. like when he says nami needs to be rescued and when ever he flirts. Its too funny
20:20 Having now watched this arc in the anime there is really only one change the live action made that I think hampers the story and that's the village and Nami's sister not knowing what Nami was doing. The whole reason Nami's sister has her tattoo was a way of silently showing Nami support(Nami was really upset about getting that tattoo) since the she couldn't openly support her for fear of Arlong finding out Nami was playing him.
There are much more in detail and reasons but in this series/moive they just cut and change some of the story. So if you are really interested in One piece try to read the Manga instead of anime.

Last two episodes are my least favorite part of the adaptation, I feel like they cut too much, and did a disservice to Genzo, Nojiko, and the village in the process. I feel like with one more rewrite and a little extra runtime they could have captured the backstory better. However, for people who haven't read the original or seen the anime adaptation this is probably pretty incredible.
