I have had three M35X's. The first was a 2006 and had 26,000 miles in it. Put a total 235,000 miles on it. Never an issue. Bought a 2007 M35x. Had 74,000 miles on it, still have in with it now having 188,000 miles on it, never an issue. I now have bought a 2008 with 27,000 original miles in it and so far runs like a dream. All three averaged about 24 MPG on the highway.
Had the same problem with my m35x where the fan kept running after noticing that I started checking out what could cause that, turns out there was air in the line so I had to bleed it it took a long long time but in the end I got it running how it suppose to. Took a few bottles of antifreeze but it was worth it now the antifreeze is circulating cooling the engine as it should problem solved. Thanks to this video thou it was after watching it I started checking my car out next step that hard to start problem it’s annoying and getting worst .
cooling fan staying on 24/7 ended up being the sensor was removed from the bottom left corner of the radiator and a plug was installed. installed the sensor and bam no more fan running all the time

Im wondering since his electric whistle is a lot louder than yours coming from throttle body area, maybe his throttle blade actuator/motor is going out??? Even if the recall was done, they have a warranty on the part 😉

I have used generic fluids on various cars with no issues to report. However, these days for the infrequent service items like coolant, transmission fluid etc, I just opt for the genuine stuff.

Question: I have a 07 M35 110k. It gets really crappy Gas mileage about 11mpg at the moment. I just bought it a month ago. It sounds throaty like a roar when accelerating is how I can describe it. No check engine lights. I'm sure it should be alot quieter. What can be the issue for it having such a heavy (a little lagging) roaring sound?
Change your ignition coils to more expensive ones like racing coils, look at the voltage that gives out each coil, normal coils for the m35 gives out 20k each ignition, I've changed mine and boy do they drive 40k each ignition coil and the acceleration is touchy.
Pressing the gas pedal is utterly pointless in a car with electronic throttle body. Your throttle will do absolutely nothing until that engine is running.
Experience has shown us that what you do with the gas pedal *during* the startup sequence, will affect how the engine starts and even whether it actually starts.
So in my software I found an issue that covers every single one of your symptoms they all say check intake valve timing control solenoid, this covers the Hard start, whistling noise, heating up very quickly

@@EdBwoy I recently bought an 03' M45 at auction. Got it for 700 bucks. Had the key and everything. Started right up although the auction they said they didn't know if they had the key. Drove the car to town 1 time. killed it. when I went to leave the car wouldn't start and hasn't started since. The conclusion I came up with was the key had come unprogrammed or the immobilizer that has a little crack in it finally quit. When cranking it sounds dead like no spark. I haven't done much beyond that yet.
I bought an 03 g35 when i wrecked my benz it it was fast tough fun to drive cheap easy to fix most of all reliable everything the benz wasn't i have 07 m35 now i love it through early mid 2000s infiniti brand was only good cars nissan made they kinda cheaped out on some of interior materials but they are so fun to drive im hooked id never get a new q50 twin turbo tho way to complicated work on
I've seen a long ago that taping the pedal is no good and can through off the throttle. My opinion with his issuse could be thermostat, and throttle body
Hello all great video hope to learn more about M35 , I have 2008 Couple days ago I was driving home and it started to want to turn off rpms were going from 2 and up and down. So I stopped twice looked like it wanted to turn off first time, second I stopped at gas station and found out it was prolly the radiator water so let it stand for awhile then for the first time after 1 year of using car I found the radiator cap hidden under air filter vents. Well the coolant was perfect at full level. So I poored water in radiator, and let car chill for a minute then drove again towards my house made it couple miles more almost made it home and car turned off. Left it there came back 1 day later and my father checked the car we poored water in radiator and found a drip on tube that connects to coolant or radiator I think both I suppose so we'll be fixing that hope nothing worse happens. But yes I forgot to say I managed to drive it home again after putting water and roms were trying to act funny before I got home after 5 minutes but it wasn't overheating like the first day it was messing up. So I'm hoping it's just the tube or hose that is leaking under the car next to the oil filter thing. And also I had already seen it leaking couple weeks before but wasn't sure what the heck it was. And a hose fro that runs the windshield wipers is also leaking water and have to change that because couple weeks ago the windshield wiper sprayers were throwing water by themselves like if I were to have them in not sure if that's because it's a sensor or because it was already leaking water as well. Anywho just want to see if anybody else has gone thru that and why my car turned off when it need water and thankfully the heads or water pump didn't mess up and car still runs. Thank god and hopefully I'm lucky to get it running this weekend after I change hoses.
Ive owned 6 infinitis in my life for Wife and I. 2 I30s, 1 I35, 2 M35s, and 1 Q50. The only one I had issues with was the 2002 I35 and it was always the camshaft sensor, crankshaft sensor, and misfiring issues. Both I30s, both M35s, and the Q50 have been flawless. And yes always use OEM with Nissan. Good info and video! Glad I found you man!
I was looking for some advice. I'll looking at a 2006 m45 tomorrow. The owner says it's a sport and it has the sports wheels, he also put an S badge on the rear, but I noticed one thing. On the orange/light brown leather interior there are no speakers on the top of the front seats. Was there a base M45 available with the sport package in 2006? I'll be looking for rear axle steering to confirm it's sport. I know a bit about vehicles, but I'm not very familiar with infiniti v8s and how they should drive when in good condition. For instance should I feel a jolt when shifting from park to reverse or drive? Or should I expect interior rattles while driving being a car with 145k? When brakes are in good working condition, how far through the pedal travel should I feel them begin to work? I appreciate any help
I got to this late, so you either liked it and bought it or not. To answer one question, yes you could get a base model Sport. The seat speakers were part of an extra package.
@@EdBwoy Due to personal reasons I was only able the car on the 17th. So i was later than you. One thing that concerned me was the car shifted into reverse really hard until it warmed up, then it shifted into reverse with a more reasonable jolt. I'm thinking once winter comes with temps 60-70 degrees colder that thing will break a mount or this is an early sign of transmission failure.
Mohammed Malik I have 2006 Infiniti m45 and it have some of sport features like the speaker seats for example, but the wheel are not sport wheel and doesn’t have s badge. I do love my car, trust me you wouldn’t care if the car is 45s or base 45 because the base is fast and pick up speed fast. The easiest way to know is to look at the car title or check the vin number online. For the transmission i will recommend taking it to transmission shop to check it. Before I bought my car i took it to a mechanic shop and they check everything for me before i bought it. My guess will be the transmission fluid need to flushed.
@@muhammedmalik6640 idk if you bought it but my m35 has the same problem. It has to do with the RPM. I get less of a jerk when shifting to drive so I reverse park into a space and wait for it to warm up

Ed I have a problem I own a 2007 Infiniti M35x and I baby my M. I change the fuel sender unit from the passenger side then found out the M has too so I change the sensor but the gauge is still on full knowing it’s not on full I know it’s below full above half tank. I got the check engine light on so my ex who has a g35 is saying it’s the cluster but Infiniti is saying cluster goes bad on the g you barely hear it from the M. So Infiniti is saying it might be the ac amplifier. Oh btw a friend purchase a wheel from you for his M45

My 2006 m35 won't start. Tried to jump it with a truck and only got one click. Had it towed home and hooked it to my charger/jump box and still only get one click noise. I know it could be many different things, but is there anything I can check before the starter. Starter relay maybe? Or another fuse? I have the base rear wheel drive model so the starter should be on the passenger side and accessible. Any insight would be much appreciated 🙏
Great vid. I got a problem with my 06 m45. Fans don't run at all. Got power to relay on 3 terminals. I'm thinking it's the cpu. If I'm thinking correctly one terminal should ground itself out to energize the relay. Any suggestions?
I had this same problem check your cooling fan reservoir tank... pop your hood take the cover off its on the bottom right side fill it up with transmission fluid and you should be good to go
What is up bro I just met you !! I have an 06 m v6 so far o2 sensor , fan air module , valve covers changed and again are bad. And cam shaft position sensor bad !! Smh
@@typicalgaming6068 for the module & sensors we definitely encourage OEM only. Yes, the aftermarket ones might offer a warranty, but who wants to do the work twice.
Hi was wondering you could please help me out. I have a 2008 m35x 170 miles. Violent had gotten all over the back side of the engine and and when I finished changing the coolest drovea couple times then the no start problem. Then I was sure that is was the starter but I took it in and had it checked and they said it was still good and working. So I put it back in and still no start and no code on my obd 2 is there anything you think it is? Thank mikeal lee
Hey man mu 07 m45 over heats at a stand still but only after a few minutes of driving, i havent seen it happen from a startup. A while back i replaced my fan module, everything was fine for a while but then my car sat for a while(about a month) and once i started driving it again i noticed that my temp starts to creep up like a 3rd of the way to max, i asumed it was a fan module problem since i had seen it happen before.... Fast foward to now, i put the oem fan module it originally had (it always runs the fans. Thats why i replaced it in the first place). But now its doing the same thing, after minutes of driving if im at a stand still it will begin the go past the half mark until i start to drive again Do you think it might be my fans or thermostat? My coolant level seems to be well and although the fan module it currently has isnt exactly new it never gave me this problem before in the same condition
Also i just recently bought yet another fan module(def. The correcf part number) and it still has the same symptoms, qfter a while of driving it will go above driving temp... But yesterday, when it started to go over regular driving temp. I stopped and had the car on park and after 2 or 3 mins of idle the temp. Dropped to normal. Any idea what it might be? Maybe thermostate?
@@demonslayer8891 confirm that both fans are coming on. Toggle the AC on and off to see if that affects your temperature gauge. At the end of the day, yes you might need to address the radiator cap or thermostat, but I'd troubleshoot it step by step first. How many miles on the car?

battery is dying because one of your modules are drawing to much amps(vehicle off module staying on drawing power , killing your battery seen bcm do this and audio unit before too / do parasitic draw and test it once you confirm theres a draw start unpluging diffrent modules until you see the big draw gone. !

Hey bro I need some help with a 2007 infinity g35s . My wife was trying to jump another car off and put the cables on the wrong terminals it smoked a little she said and the battery was shot so I brought a new battery and battery fuse but all that comes on with the key in it but only the room lights come on no headlights no dashboard lights can tell me if its another fuse i need to replace or is it a faulty battery i have no clue what it could be your advice would be greatly appreciated thanks
There are 2 coolant temperature sensors. One on the back of the left head, and another at the bottom left of the radiator. The code you get should guide you to which one needs attention
@@EdBwoy thank you so much what I did I had to take the hydraulic cooling system off and I put a electric fan on it and I'm trying to hook it up so I got the relays hooked up and everything but I just didn't know where that coolant sensor was so thank you
Oh I forgot to mention the passenger side for the fuel pump is from Autozone and the driver side is oem from Infiniti is that the cause of it because it after market (passenger side)
The problem might be somewhere else if replacing the fuel sender unit didn't fix the issue. Did you make sure you didn't accidentally bend the metal arm for the level float?
There is a square box the fans plug into ( radiator fan control module). You can see it when your looking at the fan with the hood open. That needs to be replaced did it on mine and the fans work perfect.

I have a infiniti 2007 m35, started over heating out of no where, coolant bubbling from the tank, took it to mechanic changed the thermostat didn’t work, then mechanic said it was water pump paid 1,300 to replace water pump and timing belt, then when he said it was ready I went to pick up ,he said he had taken out the thermostat so it won’t over heat and that it was the head gasket ? So don’t know if I got robbed what do you think ? Please need help !
Sounds all kinds of sketchy. I dont think the problem was troubleshot properly. If you use a genuine OEM thermostat and bleed the car properly, there usually are very few common issues.
@@guttermoney8054 A thermostat's job is to open up and allow flow of coolant towards the radiator (when your coolant reaches a certain temp). Your car wouldn't overheat with one removed/stuck open. Instead it would have trouble getting up to temp (about halfway up the gauge). Edit: If your car has a head gasket issue, then your coolant or oil may be a weird milky mix. Cars also release white smoke when the coolant is being burnt off by the engine. If you have either symptom then your head gasket might actually be no good. Sounds like a half ass diagnosis/job to me and they charged you all kinds of money for nothing

EdBwoy I have a m45 it starts to run hot when I run ac for a while. I’ve changed the water pump , thermostat, a fuse , cooling fan system and how ima replace the radiator
If you test it and all the features work as intended, then I don't think it's a bad deal. Check the maintenance history, you don't want to be left with a ticking time bomb.

EdBwoy agreed haha. By the way have you ever replaced a passenger seat cushion on the y50? Mines ripped so I bought a different colored cushion because I couldn’t find a bourbon brown one. Anyways I ended up using about 10 coats of leather dye and got it to match the rest of my seats. However I’m stuck because I can’t figure out how to take the front seat cushion off so i can replace it, any Info helps thanks!
@@JESUSISKING77742 I haven't done it on the Y50, thankfully habent had to. However, if you can remove the seat from the car, half the battle is won. I know I plan to do it on the Y51, but it didn't look too terrible from the look of things. Just plastic clips and bolts for the frame rail
I have a 2008 M35. 5 speed automatic transmission. Your videos have helped me to change my radiator and thermostat. So thank you. Since I bought he car my transmission has been acting funny. It goes into 5th gear by the time I’m at 40 miles per hour. But when I’m doing 50 miles per hour it is revving at 2k. As I speed up the rpms go up. So if I’m doing 80 I’m at 4K rpm. I know something is wrong with my transmission. Do you know what could be the problem? A mechanic told me that I would have to take the car to Infiniti because they lock the transmission.

Pushing your foot to the floor is called CLEAR FLOOD MODE. Shuts off ignition and fuel to clear out any flooding of the engine.

Transmission probably slipping or fuel pump is either bad or clogged

The only one I had issues with was the 2002 I35 and it was always the camshaft sensor, crankshaft sensor, and misfiring issues. Both I30s, both M35s, and the Q50 have been flawless. I was looking for some advice. I'll looking at a 2006 m45 tomorrow. The owner says it's a sport and it has the sports wheels, he also put an S badge on the rear, but I noticed one thing. On the orange/light brown leather interior there are no speakers on the top of the front seats. Was there a base M45 available with the sport package in 2006?
I'll be looking for rear axle steering to confirm it's sport. I know a bit about vehicles, but I'm not very familiar with infiniti v8s and how they should drive when in good condition. For instance should I feel a jolt when shifting from park to reverse or drive? Or should I expect interior rattles while driving being a car with 145k? When brakes are in good working condition, how far through the pedal travel should I feel them begin to work?

To answer one question, yes you could get a base model Sport. The seat speakers were part of an extra package.
@@EdBwoy Due to personal reasons I was only able the car on the 17th. So i was later than you. One thing that concerned me was the car shifted into reverse really hard until it warmed up, then it shifted into reverse with a more reasonable jolt. I'm thinking once winter comes with temps 60-70 degrees colder that thing will break a mount or this is an early sign of transmission failure.
Mohammed Malik I have 2006 Infiniti m45 and it have some of sport features like the speaker seats for example, but the wheel are not sport wheel and doesn’t have s badge. I do love my car, trust me you wouldn’t care if the car is 45s or base 45 because the base is fast and pick up speed fast. The easiest way to know is to look at the car title or check the vin number online. For the transmission i will recommend taking it to transmission shop to check it. Before I bought my car i took it to a mechanic shop and they check everything for me before i bought it. My guess will be the transmission fluid need to flushed.
@@muhammedmalik6640 idk if you bought it but my m35 has the same problem. It has to do with the RPM. I get less of a jerk when shifting to drive so I reverse park into a space and wait for it to warm up

Ed I have a problem I own a 2007 Infiniti M35x and I baby my M. I change the fuel sender unit from the passenger side then found out the M has too so I change the sensor but the gauge is still on full knowing it’s not on full I know it’s below full above half tank. I got the check engine light on so my ex who has a g35 is saying it’s the cluster but Infiniti is saying cluster goes bad on the g you barely hear it from the M. So Infiniti is saying it might be the ac amplifier. Oh btw a friend purchase a wheel from you for his M45

My 2006 m35 won't start. Tried to jump it with a truck and only got one click. Had it towed home and hooked it to my charger/jump box and still only get one click noise. I know it could be many different things, but is there anything I can check before the starter. Starter relay maybe? Or another fuse? I have the base rear wheel drive model so the starter should be on the passenger side and accessible. Any insight would be much appreciated 🙏
The last 08 M35 i purchased 2 months ago does this sometimes but not as bad my temp gauge also takes awhile to move
He was concerned that his gauge would rise up too fast. i recommended he check the coolant conditionv & level as well.

Great vid. I got a problem with my 06 m45. Fans don't run at all. Got power to relay on 3 terminals. I'm thinking it's the cpu. If I'm thinking correctly one terminal should ground itself out to energize the relay. Any suggestions?
I had this same problem check your cooling fan reservoir tank... pop your hood take the cover off its on the bottom right side fill it up with transmission fluid and you should be good to go

Violent had gotten all over the back side of the engine and and when I finished changing the coolest drovea couple times then the no start problem. Then I was sure that is was the starter but I took it in and had it checked and they said it was still good and working. Hey man mu 07 m45 over heats at a stand still but only after a few minutes of driving, i havent seen it happen from a startup. A while back i replaced my fan module, everything was fine for a while but then my car sat for a while(about a month) and once i started driving it again i noticed that my temp starts to creep up like a 3rd of the way to max, i asumed it was a fan module problem since i had seen it happen before....
Fast foward to now, i put the oem fan module it originally had (it always runs the fans. Thats why i replaced it in the first place). But now its doing the same thing, after minutes of driving if im at a stand still it will begin the go past the half mark until i start to drive again
Do you think it might be my fans or thermostat? My coolant level seems to be well and although the fan module it currently has isnt exactly new it never gave me this problem before in the same condition
Also i just recently bought yet another fan module(def. The correcf part number) and it still has the same symptoms, qfter a while of driving it will go above driving temp...
But yesterday, when it started to go over regular driving temp. I stopped and had the car on park and after 2 or 3 mins of idle the temp. Dropped to normal. Any idea what it might be? Maybe thermostate?
@@demonslayer8891 confirm that both fans are coming on. Toggle the AC on and off to see if that affects your temperature gauge.
At the end of the day, yes you might need to address the radiator cap or thermostat, but I'd troubleshoot it step by step first. How many miles on the car?

battery is dying because one of your modules are drawing to much amps(vehicle off module staying on drawing power , killing your battery seen bcm do this and audio unit before too / do parasitic draw and test it once you confirm theres a draw start unpluging diffrent modules until you see the big draw gone. !

My wife was trying to jump another car off and put the cables on the wrong terminals it smoked a little she said and the battery was shot so I brought a new battery and battery fuse but all that comes on with the key in it but only the room lights come on no headlights no dashboard lights can tell me if its another fuse i need to replace or is it a faulty battery i have no clue what it could be your advice would be greatly appreciated thanks
The Ms have some fusible links attached to the negative battery cable. I'd check those

There are 2 coolant temperature sensors. One on the back of the left head, and another at the bottom left of the radiator.
The code you get should guide you to which one needs attention

Oh I forgot to mention the passenger side for the fuel pump is from Autozone and the driver side is oem from Infiniti is that the cause of it because it after market (passenger side)
The problem might be somewhere else if replacing the fuel sender unit didn't fix the issue. Did you make sure you didn't accidentally bend the metal arm for the level float?

Try forcing the fans on. Turn the AC on and make sure both fans come on when the compressor clicks.

There is a square box the fans plug into ( radiator fan control module). You can see it when your looking at the fan with the hood open. That needs to be replaced did it on mine and the fans work perfect.

Well, it is not supposed to do that. Engine taking a while to heat up, the noise, and possibility of wearing the fans out faster are all issues that might bother some more than others.

I have a infiniti 2007 m35, started over heating out of no where, coolant bubbling from the tank, took it to mechanic changed the thermostat didn’t work, then mechanic said it was water pump paid 1,300 to replace water pump and timing belt, then when he said it was ready I went to pick up ,he said he had taken out the thermostat so it won’t over heat and that it was the head gasket ? So don’t know if I got robbed what do you think ? Please need help !
Sounds all kinds of sketchy.
I dont think the problem was troubleshot properly. If you use a genuine OEM thermostat and bleed the car properly, there usually are very few common issues.
Your car shouldn't require timing work. You have a timing chain

@@guttermoney8054 A thermostat's job is to open up and allow flow of coolant towards the radiator (when your coolant reaches a certain temp). Your car wouldn't overheat with one removed/stuck open. Instead it would have trouble getting up to temp (about halfway up the gauge).
Edit: If your car has a head gasket issue, then your coolant or oil may be a weird milky mix. Cars also release white smoke when the coolant is being burnt off by the engine. If you have either symptom then your head gasket might actually be no good. Sounds like a half ass diagnosis/job to me and they charged you all kinds of money for nothing

Just call your local Infiniti dealer for the part # and yeah there is 2 camshaft position sensors and the one on the bottom is the crankshaft sensor

On my old g35 you had to purge the air out the cooling system and the car had to be elevated in the front look in to it

If you test it and all the features work as intended, then I don't think it's a bad deal. Check the maintenance history, you don't want to be left with a ticking time bomb.

Trial & error, lol. We had to break a few things to know how far to bend an M before it breaks
EdBwoy agreed haha. By the way have you ever replaced a passenger seat cushion on the y50? Mines ripped so I bought a different colored cushion because I couldn’t find a bourbon brown one. Anyways I ended up using about 10 coats of leather dye and got it to match the rest of my seats. However I’m stuck because I can’t figure out how to take the front seat cushion off so i can replace it, any Info helps thanks!

Since I bought he car my transmission has been acting funny. It goes into 5th gear by the time I’m at 40 miles per hour. But when I’m doing 50 miles per hour it is revving at 2k. As I speed up the rpms go up. So if I’m doing 80 I’m at 4K rpm. I know something is wrong with my transmission. Do you know what could be the problem? A mechanic told me that I would have to take the car to Infiniti because they lock the transmission.
