2006-2010 Infiniti M35 & M45.. What You Didn’t Know

  • Here’s a throwback video featuring the Infiniti M35 & M45 from the 2006 to 2010 model years. But the Infiniti M sedans technically don’t qualify as a flagship as the the Infiniti Q45 existed in 2006. See my video on the Lexus GS F here: • 2016-2020 Lexus GS F.....
The Infiniti M35 was powered by a NA V6 engine whereas the M45 was powered by a NA V8 engine which makes it very special. These M sedans were available with AWD and as a Sport model which came with some high end features which I talk about in this video.
This video was done by Kevin from Exhaust Sports Auto.

I have a 2008 M45, 16 years old, and it still looks modern, platinum silver. Only 60,000 miles on it and its just a great car with many features that many high end cars just added in the past 2-3 years. Bose audio, lane keeping, lasr radar spped control, voice recognition, rear seats with reclining, heated seats and a video player. I have to fix some body damages but I don't see any reason to buy a BMW, Merc, Audi, especially here in CA with the 2% annual tax. I love it and appreciate the video as this was the fastest sedan as rated by car and driver for that year. Plus, you don't see many on the road!

My first car was a 2006 M35 with journey and navigation packages. Absolutely loved it! Was great to drive and the exhaust note on the VQ was always great. Bought with high miles in mint condition from an elderly neighbor and sold it with 220k miles on the clock! Never had issues for me beyond 2 $40 sensors failing (which caused the car to brick up while driving - Infiniti faced a class-action lawsuit in the g35 models for the same sensor failures) You didn't mention it, but the M series also offered Lane departure alert and Automatic Radar cruise control back in 2006 / 2007! Absolutely wild, and a great value.... Unfortunately when I see one on the road today its typically ratted out :(.... but this era (2003-2010) was definitely Infiniti's heyday - I wouldn't be lining up to buy any new infiniti model today, which is sad to say as they were an industry innovator for quite some time in the early 2000s.

Sensors for one. Check and change oil religiously. One thing I don't do that many people who have this car demonstrate is the speed. It is Z fast and if you love 0 to 60 driving it does get up. But it is a very luxurious car and ride and I drive mine as such. Every now and then I punch it and she jets but I do not treat it like a race car to take better care of it. Also as I said it uses premium gas which is the more expensive fuel and she loves to drink. It is not the greatest on gas. Not the worst but I imagine that if you keep that pedal to the metal you will spent lots of time at the gas pump. Take care of it and it will make your driving experience a very pleasurable one. Check and change oil religiously.

The updated engine fixed the timing chain guide issues, got more power due to dual intake tubes, new front and rear facias, new rear, yet slightly modified taillights and new side skirts for the for the sport models. I had brand new v8 m45 sport rwd right when it came out from 2006-2009. WOW. It was FAST and handled as good as bmw M cars. Also had the most insane technology inside which was shockingly both loaded and very useful and never too much or confusing. Also had 5.1 audio Bose surround sound which was nice. Was honestly the best car around at that time taking everything into consideration (except gas mileage lol). It was both luxury so class respectable, powerful, looked sexy as hell at the time (pu$$y magnet), great comfort, great handling. Basically perfect at the time. Adaptive Cruise, Lane Departure Warning/Prevention (it used the brakes to guide the car on center) along with the BOSE Audio Pilot that helps cancel out road noise and automatically adjusts the speaker volume. We have the 2010 M35X, my favorite Infiniti yet, we've had Infinities since 1992. Had the transmission control module circuit board fail. Infiniti dealer wanted to replace the whole transmission for almost $9000. Right! I brought it home, read the code, dropped the pan and the control module, after cleaning it up, only problem was a cracked circuit on the board. I soldered a wire across to connect the break, reinstalled with new gasket and synthetic fluid, torqued to 75 inch/pounds, all for less than $100, took care of the problem. 70,000 miles later, still working great!
Sadley it seems Infiniti dealers assume their customers are all complete morons and believe anything they're told. I later met up with the sales manager while eating out, she said I need to upgrade my ride to a newer version. I told her the 2006-2010 was the best series made yet, she agreed and proceeded to share the newer ones aren't as good as the older models, she wanted mine because there's a good market for the '06-10 models...case closed.

    M45x 2008. 212,000 kms.
Full load Tech package. I love sitting in the backseat. Power relcline, heated seats ( no a/c in the rear seats, unfortunately) I comes with two bose headphones and a remote controller. Unfortunately my kids get tue back seat most of the time.
I would say the only good and bad part of the the drive train. 5 speed transmission. Cruising at highways speeds your reving 3100 to 3500. Major gas guzzler. And infiniti says premium fuel😂 💸💸💸💸
Active rear steer is cool. But best feature by far. Headlights turning the direction of your steering wheel. Rare option for cars of those years.
Most definitely love my mid life crisis buy.

I have a 2006 M45, gold color with the Peanut Butter seats. This car was ahead of it's time. You have to drive one to really appreciate an M45. I had to replace the tranny once but other than that this car is a BEAST. One the highway the response on acceleration is crazy. To hear the engine start and rev is addicting. You can hear that V8 Beast under the hood. I thought about selling her after the tranny change but.....I can't do it. This car still turns heads and I get comments all the time about it. Again, you have to drive one to really appreciate it.

I have the 2008 m45. I bought it 5 years ago for $14000. No real problems. I just paid it off last month. I went from a 05 Kia Sorento to this car. I love it. The only issue was the tps modules, the passenger rear has never worked. Even after rotating the tires. I found out that the module did work but could not connect when in that position. When it got moved to the front it started working. What caught my eye when I was first looking at this car, was the engine compartment. Totally covered and sealed. This makes this car look so premium and wows everyone I show it to. Also, I like the active headlights that steer and level themselves. And the Bose stereo is awesome. It is like sitting inside the speaker itself. My car is pearl white.

Came across a low miles 06 M35× fully loaded, black eith the most beautiful seats ever in a car, Peanut Butter.
With about 122,000. The only issues i had were just regular wear and tear. But i do have now, Vale Cover Gasket that need to be replaced. Which will be done very soon!
This will mostly likely be my last Infinit car.
Until i see something that will WOW me from Infiniti.
Switching over to the Genesis. Havent made my mind up yet between the G80 or G90.

Has never been back to has never been back to the shop for any type of repairs other than standard maintenance type of items. In 2018 I bought a q70l and it was extremely disappointed. It's a very large car which I liked 5.6 l v8. The CVT transmission is a piece of garbage. Got rid of the car after 3 months.. I was actively looking for another M45 sport and Ryan across a black one in California and pristine condition. I flew out their drove it back to Chicago and had it detailed, play bard, and ceramic Crystal sealant on the clear coat. Not gonna front though. This Infiniti was the best one they produced at the time and wanted one so bad but had other priorities at the time. It still looks hot today. I also like its replacement the Q70. The only problems I have/had with the Q70 was/is that the size of the body of the car made/makes the wheels look small. I partially attribute that due to the size of the huge wheel wells and the other problem was how bad it was/is on gas. That car is a beast though. What do you guys think?

Purchased a used 2007 M35 Base model in 2010. Happy with it at 164K miles even though it is showing normal wear and tear. The dashboard and the airbags were replaced by the dealer after a recall. Replaced the oil cooler gasket at 83K, the AC compressor went out at 126K, the radiator at 130K, and the head cover gasket at 150K. A couple of driver seat panels were replaced at 110K and may need to be replaced in a year or so. It burns about a quart of oil every 1000 miles. Used regular gas for 14 years and it works just fine as a daily driver.

Infiniti fanbase was the most lowkey car fanbase (if it even existed)! It didn't have to exist because we didn't need to seek validation about the things that made Infiniti truthfully special. Individual fans and owners at the time of '00s and early '10s had that realization that it was a rare and uniquely private sensation of its atmospheric design, funky quirks, and especially practicalities.

pony up for the m56 with the 420HP, OR save a few bucks and go for the absolutely gangster looking 2003/2004 M45. If you get one of these for a steal sure its fine but I'd prefer either the 03-04, or the 2010 M56 imho, I think they do look better then the G35 sedan, maybe not quite as good as the g37 sedan. its just too much of a tweener. other wise I'd just get a GS350 if I want reliability, a E550/350 if I want a plush luxury ride, or a 535i if I want a true sports sedan with legit power potential. Again, nothing wrong with these Ms, certainly better then like the Cadillac STS, the TL or the other crappy luxury sports sedans in the 2000s, but the Lexus, Mercedes and or BMW all fill their niches better then the M that tries to do it all, I wouldn't turn a M45 V8 one of these down for the right price, but otherwise I'm going to one of the big 3 luxury players.

    I bought my ‘08 M45 in 2019. Only 88K miles!
I was looking for Accords or Camrys but couldn’t pass this one up. Awesome car, so far just brakes and tires needed.

My father had a 2002, Q45. The car was extremely smooth as it ran down the road in the rear seats in that car also reclined. When it came time to trade in the Q, He was looking at the M 45 as a possible replacement? Unfortunately, after the merger With Renault, the quality within Nissan, and Infiniti vehicles dropped substantially.

I'm going to check out a 2007 Infiniti M35 x tomorrow.... Hoping it drives as well as it looks...the car looks brand new inside and out clean Carfax with all maintenance on time, papers for proof. And it's an older one owner.
