Thank you all so much for 100k views! God bless.
David Byrne has shown me how to dance confidently without reservation.
He taught Peewee Herman how to dance.
"......anyone have any questions?" Classic.
when he starts running fucking laps!!! legendary. best of all time.
I can see Christopher Nolan’s next biopic starring Cillian Murphy now.
Lol, he does kinda look like him with that hair
you genius
now that would be cinema
😂 That would actually be great casting
@@arkhamskidaTheres actually comparisons all over the web.
I’m completely exhausted from watching this video ! I need a nap now!
Tina Weymouth isn't even sweating!
Princesses don't sweat
@@bpunchingreal💅😍
burned all my calories
what good are calories?
they won't help me survive!
Does anybody have any questions!? Barking mad, but absolute geniuses, all of them!
"Life During Wartime" will always be peak Talking Heads for me. The single just hit at absolutely the right moment: the dawn of the 1980s. Even years later, I would play it at loud volumes in my dorm room and it was the perfect "smart new wave" single. And this live version from "Stop Making Sense" is the real heart of the movie to me, the point where they're deep in, and there's no going back, it's like an electronic funk epiphany about modern life.
This is so good it's just ridiculous, musical perfection!
best cardio workout song ever?
I can't stop watching this
David Byrne grew up in Arbutus, Maryland. He is 71 years old this year.
Scottish born as well 🏴
He’s American and Scottish!
he’s the earth’s blessed enigma. i’ve never respected a musician for the man himself more, i hope he lives forever.
Niice! A fellow DPRM alumnus.
He's turning 72 this year and yes he is sexy!
He's Scottish, no?
Greatest live performance of all time and a wonderful work out.
Watch this at 2x speed. Its hysterical
The backup singers, Lynn Mabry and Ednah Holt, elevate the song to a whole different level, David Byrne is just brilliant, the entire band gets an A+ for both energy and talent, but its the drummer, Chris Frantz, who drives the whole thing.
Couldn't have put it better myself. 4:22
We do this song live (I sing and play bass). I can't imagine doing either while jogging in place for nearly the entire song.
You get it. Super refreshing.
No, the keyboards
The drummer is the amazing rhythm, so uniquely over the top, unexpectedly synchronized carrying the song, quite aligned with the bass; followed by the crême icing on top--David Byrne's unique powerfully constrained authentic voice instrument!
I agree.
The Rolex of the band
David is a genius. literally.
The burning keeps me alive... 🔥🔥🔥
That's just the coolest.
Man this clip is soooo good, thank God it has been filmed so perfectly and preserved for future generations! With this performance the band opened up new dimensions of musical unison, physical freedom and stage magnetism, while keeping things simple, void of special effects - the spirit of rock'n'roll was never more alive, before or after. 🎸🎶
My smarty pants son and his friends were always at my house. They loved going through my albums. These are
I could watch a 50 min video about how perfect each part of this is
How Fucking great are they here!!
I feel that there is nobody cooler than they
My favorite version of the song 🎶🎸
Best live video I've ever seen.
Best concert movie ever.
best band to come out of the 80s, and it ain't even close
If I made this my daily workout video, I'd be fit as a fiddle! Love this so much! The 80's were such a great time!!
There really is nothing like this.
I suspect David Byrne to be a marathonian who happens to be a musical genius ...I've been listening since the beginning they are still making sense in 2024
And its back on yt.. !!!
One of the best live performances. ..
I think it’s been enough time… is David Byrne the greatest American male musician/composer/performer of all time? I think yes. Just an Extraordinary human.
He is not american, he is scottish.
amazing band where every crew is genius
I was at this show and it was glorious.
this is like the best live performance i've ever seennn
Pure genius!
genius. period.
Of course, the hand drumming are the hands furthering the pounding of the drumming heart! Powerful song beyond many...across many levels; noteworthy combination of musicians!
Funnest song live ever...what a great ensemble of Groovers
The energy from this concert is still blasting out into the cosmos… If aliens ever detect humanity via a video signal this is what I want us to be known for…
just wow, always loved this song, never knew this live version just knocks it out of the park and they all look like they are having a blast
True. I’m a 14 year old guitarist from a little town called Hawesville Kentucky. Thanks for watching.
Super, que dire d’autre
So much energy!
keep coming back...just the best
The homage paid to this performance by the 1975 in the It’s Not Living video is 🥲👌🏼
This is the best thing to work out to swear
So fantastic!
Amazing art
David bryne is truly one of kind !
Excellent!
darn good music!
“Hi, I’m Stevie Ray Vaughan. Here to audition for the band.”
“So Stevie, we listened to your tape. Really impressive stuff. Just one question for you: are you a jogger?”
“No, not really, sorry”
“GET OUT! GET OUT NOW!”
The fucking cardio on these guys...
The are still just cool!!!🎉
Love the Congos in this.
So good!! 🔥
Thanks for the memories...
Life During Wartime
Lyrics
Heard of a van that's loaded with weapons
Packed up and ready to go
Heard of some gravesites, out by the highway
A place where nobody knows
The sound of gunfire, off in the distance
I'm getting used to it now
Lived in a brownstone, lived in a ghetto
I've lived all over this town
This ain't no party, this ain't no disco
This ain't no fooling around
No time for dancing, or lovey-dovey
I ain't got time for that now
Transmit the message to the receiver
Hope for an answer someday
I got three passports, a couple of visas
You don't even know my real name
High on a hillside, the trucks are loading
Everything's ready to roll
I sleep in the daytime, I work in the nighttime
I might not ever get home
This ain't no party, this ain't no disco
This ain't no fooling around
This ain't no Mudd Club, or CBGB
I ain't got time for that now
Heard about Houston? Heard about Detroit?
Heard about Pittsburgh, PA?
You oughta know not to stand by the window
Somebody see you up there
I got some groceries, some peanut butter
To last a couple of days
But I ain't got no speakers, ain't got no headphones
Ain't got no records to play
Why stay in college? Why go to night school?
Gonna be different this time
Can't write a letter, can't send no postcard
I ain't got time for that now
Trouble in transit, got through the roadblock
We blended in with the crowd
We got computers, we're tapping phone lines
I know that that ain't allowed
We dress like students, we dress like housewives
Or in a suit and a tie
I changed my hairstyle, so many times now
I don't know what I look like
You make me shiver, I feel so tender
We make a pretty good team
Don't get exhausted, I'll do some driving
You ought to get you some sleep
Burned all my notebooks, what good are notebooks?
They won't help me survive
My chest is aching, burns like a furnace
The burning keeps me alive

We used to be a country, apparently we lost this war.
Genius.
Anyone remembers this from Belgrade, 1983?
Thank you! Anybody have any questions?
Meravigliosi!❤
It's a damn Tina Weymouth sighting, for cryin out 🔊!!! Life is great and wonderful ❤😮
This guy looks like Bryan Kolberger when you look at him from the side.
When the coke was pure
Dancing movements thrive challenged but no less empowered showing up!
Tremendo tema
Absolutely best music video on t'internet..... ❤
2.38 How Stoned does Tina look.
Got to get fit. Otherwise I’m liable to miss a lot more school.
WOW
Magical
Could've been the perfect soundtrack of the movie The Killer lyrics-based.
better than any hypnosis video
Some peanut buttah
1:27 That dance tho
In 1983, we definitely were more energetic! Wonder if this was choreography or if David Burns told his backup band and singers to just freestyle energetically? No, some parts must be choreographed? The bass player looks a little tired. Not Byrnes though, he is from another world!!
Prerequisite for joining this band…..healthy cardio! lol!
Who puts the effort into putting on such a Great performance nowadays?🤔🥳
Thank you much for over 170k views.
Que bueno
Nice workout like so
💛💙🌻
Buy the cd also,,,yw

Tina !!
She’s beautiful
Love this song. Each time I listen to it it reminds me of my favourite book "The Turner Diaries"
TINA!
Red hot chili peppers from a different mother 👁️👁️. Let's go there 🤪🤪🤪
Rambo music ❤
I get tired watching them. The amount of work they put out for this song has to be some record
This guy invented the viral tiktok emote
The Chinese guy right? Cause every time i see that guy, I just hear ‘I’ll send a message to the receiver’ in my head
1:19 tryna get all that coke stuck
who's the guitar player?
Alex Weir
...and while the rest of us were hitting the O2 mask, they kept jamming for another hour.
David Byrne is so cool that he can do looney dances look like serious stage choreography!
@@branojuraj9063funny part is, I just found out that he rehearsed those looney dances like a professional dancer.
