- Is it possible to build a shop in Super Mario Maker where Mario pays with 1-UPs? Or a shop where coins can actually be used to buy valuable goomba shoes? The answer is: “Yes!” With a little bit of dedication, and a lot of ELB manipulation it’s actually possible to build crazy shopping systems in Super Mario Maker! In this video we will take a look at three shop designs in Super Mario Maker. Two that use complex setups and one Super Mario Maker shop that is super easy to set up!

Well it’s surprisingly simple
Early. Next you should make a bank that will store your currency even when you go to the subarea. You could do this by spawnblocking the currency, so it will store the currency. You could also double spawnblock it with a block and a bullet blaster.
Good to see your content, Ceave! After watching so many of these videos I've been inspired and decided to finally buy a copy of Super Mario Maker for myself. I plan to work some of your designs into my levels, such as your Bullet Blaster gates and easy backtracking with the P-Switch on semisolid platform trick.

exactly, and there are some of the red coins that can be collected without triggering the blue platforms in tracks, so the shop could be a bit broken.

Am I the only one noticing how much Ceave's English has improved? I mean seriously, it makes his videoes a lot easier to understand, which I appreciate.
These are all clever ideas, but (correct me if I'm wrong) they all can only be used once. The first and third designs fill up the entity limit, so you can't have any entities beyond the shop. The second design uses doors, and you can only have 4 doors per stage. Or is it 4 doors of each door type? Either way, you can only have one shop per level.
I think you should use a design similar to Spelunky. Just have one Koopa in the level, and you have to carry the shell to the shop. The shop will have items blocked by bricks, and you can set up a contraption so that you can only break one brick and purchase one item. You could also use something that can be carried that's harder to lose and less useful, like a spring.

I think that you can use it more than once because you could use pipes to use it twice.

I very much love the idea of the 1-UP mushrooms going for something useful. Not taking away the design of gaining a 1-up, but also having them get something fun and useful is a great way to make something otherwise pretty useless in this game, a lot of fun. Definitely one i'm gonna try using!

Is it posible to make a randomizer bassed on which enemy survives?, like, if in a cage with 2 bowser or something, one of em is defeated, a gate is opened, and if the other one is defeated instead, the other gate opens, that could be pretty cool!
Also, little trick, if a winged Bowser.JR falls out of the stage (In any style aside from castle, because ya know, lava), instead of just falling to his demise, he will fly upwards and do some sledge bro ground pounding (At least big Bowser.JR) before restarting the fight (Damage is saved tho)

Always cool to see these interesting setups! But of course, a shop could be as simple as placing optional keys through the level and locking some items behind one door, and others behind two.

I really like the 1-up one and it's definitely an improvement of the shell one from the roguelike. Mostly because the video seemed to indicate the intention was to use the shell to buy one of the other four items, but I always just took the shellmet itself since it a) acts as an extra hit point and is therefore is better than the mushroom because of the head protection and b) the head protection makes the cannonball minigame to the left of the next area for an extra item trivial because you can just stand there since all the cannonballs fire from above.
I was thinking of using this for my Legend of Zelda Level. Thank you!
