Grab yourself a Dash rice cooker, they are small and you can cook more than just rice in them but that way it won't take up a lot of space and you can actually save money on the rice. Also you can roast your potatoes in your airfryer - I use the baby potatoes and roast them in the airfryer then top them with sour cream, cheese, bacon bits and chives - it's like having loaded baked potatoes.
I’d 100% get an instant pot. You can make rice in them, pressure cook stuff, and sauté veggies and scramble eggs and stuff like you would on a stovetop. They’re not that expensive and you can cook so many things in them, or a cheap griddle for other stuff like pancakes or quesadillas or sandwich melts
Hello Grace Here is a grocery list and a few items you can use in your home. You can have potatoes and sweet potatoes: they are microwaveable. ( Walmart also sells microwaveable single sweet/regular potatoes. Can vegetables/frozen veggies Yogurts/pudding/jello Peppers Onions/ garlic/ ginger paste or diced in a jar. You still buy chicken, fish, beef, etc fresh just store in freezer and thaw when ready. You have an air fryer. Maybe think about getting nutribullet/ smoothie blender and steamer/ rice cooker. They usually are about 20 dollars in Walmart or on Amazon. If you have enough maybe buy an insta pot it can also double as a pot and steamer. Or a crockpot which can be great if you visit home. You can make freezer meals that you just put in the crockpot/ insta pot.
Not sure if you go back to your parents place every weekend but you can also get these reusable to go containers from Target or Walmart and prepare that upcoming weeks’ meals (meal prep) at your parents’ then just bring them to store in your room’s fridge

I used to keep a griddle in my dorm and it was clutch. They’re like $20 and you can make eggs, pancakes, grilled veggies etc.
