About to show this to my nephew Connor for the first time. I have pre-explained that while they had the two best sword choreographers in the world working, they also had a director who was set in his ways who wanted fantastic instead of technically proficient. Russ mulcahy wanted fantasy fighting, not sword fighting.
And this is why I'm not a fan of Highlander the choreography is TERRIBLE. Amazing concept no doubt... but without proper sword fighting its pretty empty.
It’s mostly because Lambert is virtually blind when he doesn’t have his glasses on. The sword fights are a little shabby but I look past that and enjoy the concept of the film. Highlander The Series has some amazing sword fights. Highlander: Endgame (forth film) has some great sword fights.
@@Highlander1518 That could be it but at that point in movie making history people didn't really know or care about real sword fighting techniques. You were lucky if someone on set took some fencing lessons.
@@Acesahn Peter Diamond and Bob Anderson did the sword choreography for the first Highlander film. They did know sword fighting techniques but they are only as good as the actors who play the part on screen. In the case with Highlander Lambert is almost blind so the sword fights aren’t great. The Princess Bride was made in the 80s and the sword fights in that film are excellent.

Chingon.nunca lo olvidare cuando lo vi en el cine cuando tenia 10 años
Why that unnecessary jumps?
Fasil went at MacLeod because he knew the Kurrgan would easily kill him. He underestimated Duncan, however.
Do you mean Connor?

@@Highlander1518 why didn’t he use contact lenses? Pretty ok options were around since 1971
@@Afdog I don’t think he favours them. I know from personal experience that contact lens’s aren’t for everyone.
