This guy is my favorite at playing the Revolutionary Etude. Regardless of his mistakes, he truly plays it the most passionately and I enjoy listening to this video.
This is probably the best I have ever heard this performed. This piece takes years to master at the level he's playing it at, no matter how good you think you are.
Even with the several mistakes he made, his rendition's of Chopin's pieces are always my favorite by far. He pours more emotion into his performance than any other pianist I've yet seen.
I remember this concert. I was still little but when I listened his play, I cried. cuz I had never listened anything like this, his play had every emotions such as a huge anger, sadness, despair, hope for freedom, and acceptance. even for a little child could felt his soul. thank you for uploading this. thank you Bunin! from Japan. btw, it is tremendously beautiful from 1:36. goose bumps....
Astonishingly magnificent - Bravo ! The passion takes it to the peak..............I am crying with the overwhelming joy of hearing this one played like this - for all those of you that want to complain about one bad note - you have lost the incredible experience of this passion..........I played this when I was younger - very well, I may add - and at 73, I am moved beyond measure to hear it like this !!!!!
Sure, he made a mistake... And even if it was part of the piece, nobody is perfect you guys. But still props to how amazing and beautifully articulated this piece was.
I know I'll never live long enough to master this song. Notes, maybe, but not the speed. Any pianist will realize this has to be the most difficult piece ever, which is why I so appreciate it. Thank you so much for playing this perfectly!
Oh Stanislav Bunin, you are my idol! You're brilliant! So much emotion! I long to win the International Chopin Piano Competition just like you! Chopin himself would be proud to hear you play! You look like a rock star on stage! You're amazing!
Chopin wrote this piece for polish people who fought for freedom. When I listen to this it reminds me of all ppl in the world history who gave their lives in the name of freedom.
i love the chopin etude op 10 no 12 ..and this wonderful talented pianist Bunin playing con fuoco is exceptional..i have struggled with piano piece for i while but...now i feel , i have to keep playing...each time i play it i learn something new...i play a few bars..of chopin and my depression lifts like when some people read and are inspired by the painter ...Vincent Van..Gogh the impressionist master!..i was once on It's A mad World for BBC one comic Relief...2007..tony amore, davePEARSON..too
i love how he finishes playing this piece as if he totally owns the world i seriously love this guys emotion while he plays it just makes it feel so much more epic d:
Jeepers, this was beyond a shadow of a doubt an amazing performance. And thanks to the video game Eternal Sonata, I have so much respect for the man whom composed it, Mr. Chopin himself. In fact, it was Eternal Sonata that brought me here, and again taught me how beautiful Chopin's music really is. May he RIP, and know that his music lives on for an eternity.
I ve seen several other performance of this revolutionary etude by yund li, valentina lang lang etc.., but this bunin's one is my favourite.. i ve myself wud have seen this video 50 times and never got bored.. I loved the way he plays the piano!
Oh my god he played that piece AMAZINGLY!!!! SO MUCH PASSION!!!! THAT WAS CRAZY AWESOME!!! I'VE NEVER SEEN ANYONE PERFORM IT LIKE THAT!!!! IT'S BRILLIANT!!!!! GOD!!!!! MOST PEOPLE I'VE SEEN PLAY IT DON'T PLAY IT LIKE IT'S THE CRAZY BRILLIANT BAD ASS PASSIONATE PIECE OF MUSIC THIS WORLD HAS BEEN BLESSED WITH!!! HE TRULY ROCKED IT!!! HE LOOKS LIKE A FREAKING ROCK STAR UP THERE ON STAGE, MAN!!!!! SERIOUSLY!!!! WOW!!!!!
What makes this song al the more difficult is that most of it is played on the left hand, though the chords are difficult for people of small hands, the constans acending, decending, accents, cressendos, and decressendos make -this all- the more difficult.
I agree when people say this is etude for the technique for the left hand.....but for people who understand this music, thay know that it's more than just about fast playing and technique....right hand is filled with so much imotions that Chopin felt while writing it....beautiful
absolutley beautiful.. i cant play this on the piano yet, but i can sort of play it on guitar. it is such a beautiful melody, I've never heard such an amazing work off the c minor scale. The song completely describes what was going on in poland and in chopins heart at the time.. stunning
@thedirtymeatball hadn't heard of him, but i just finished learning the piece and am like : - o jaw-on-the-floor at this guy. tbh the pedal control gets me more than the left hand because it's way too easy for the notes to turn into mush as a substitute for not having enough control.
matys82 thank you very much! I just did it and It was exciting and encouragment to know about the brave people of Poland against the abusive invasion of other country. Thanks again :)

2024 still rewatching this legendary performance 🔥
This guy is my favorite at playing the Revolutionary Etude. Regardless of his mistakes, he truly plays it the most passionately and I enjoy listening to this video.

I strongly agree with you!!
My favorite of all Chopin's music.
Best interpretation so far...
Sheer brilliance. Genius level piano playing. Bravo!
I love the fact that even his hair is enjoying this song so much :D
Sure, he made a mistake... And even if it was part of the piece, nobody is perfect you guys. But still props to how amazing and beautifully articulated this piece was.
Lilian, disculpa, ¿qué significa esta frase? No logro entenderte cabalmente: "But still props to how amazing"?
Gracias.
panzadeborracho 'Props to how amazing...' is like saying 'congrats on how amazing...'
SamOwenI Thank you very much!!! Your comment has really been a help for me, have a nice day!

Just great!!
I know I'll never live long enough to master this song. Notes, maybe, but not the speed. Any pianist will realize this has to be the most difficult piece ever, which is why I so appreciate it. Thank you so much for playing this perfectly!

God given talent.

So much passion in this piece, sends shivers down my spine
Oh Stanislav Bunin, you are my idol! You're brilliant! So much emotion! I long to win the International Chopin Piano Competition just like you! Chopin himself would be proud to hear you play! You look like a rock star on stage! You're amazing!
What a great performance, virtuoso!!
Best version I've ever heard
Chopin wrote this piece for polish people who fought for freedom. When I listen to this it reminds me of all ppl in the world history who gave their lives in the name of freedom.
One of the most passionate and patriotic pieces of music ever written.
the best version of revolutionnary study on youtube i found so far
this is waaaayyy beyond technique...beautiful
Awesome, I listen to it almost every day!
Awesome!!!!!! Bunin's Chopin's 10-12 is especially, It's my best Theme in my life.
Absolutely amazing !
it's still a pretty good composition!! and amazing interpretation! what a masterpiece
When he digs that left hand down in to the lower keys, it gets me going. An amazing piece, and an incredible rendition of this song!
Bravo!!!!!!!
I luv how he has so much emotion and passion in his playing.
Dziękuje.❤

This is one of my favorite pieces. I have it on my cell phone and listen to it all the time.
I ve seen several other performance of this revolutionary etude by yund li, valentina lang lang etc.., but this bunin's one is my favourite.. i ve myself wud have seen this video 50 times and never got bored.. I loved the way he plays the piano!

I don't care for the mistakes, I still need to lie down to take in the magnificence of what I just heard.
What makes this song al the more difficult is that most of it is played on the left hand, though the chords are difficult for people of small hands, the constans acending, decending, accents, cressendos, and decressendos make -this all- the more difficult.

richter peace=technique. this peace=melody, sence.
Epic
Beautiful! BRAVO!!
Quien es el pianista? Es extraordinaria la forma de interpretar
I enjoyed the way he played this - with such emotion and connectivity with the instrument.
Joseph grand
absolutley beautiful.. i cant play this on the piano yet, but i can sort of play it on guitar. it is such a beautiful melody, I've never heard such an amazing work off the c minor scale. The song completely describes what was going on in poland and in chopins heart at the time.. stunning

this etude is so rich. full of life and color, then again all of them are but this one i can put on repeat and listen to for lit hrs at a time
Damn, Ned Flanders sure can play the piano...
amazing preformance
this song is just so...wow words cant describe! its just so passionate!
I'm sorry friends. Does anybody know what's the meaning or what's refering to Chopin in the subject of this masterpiece "Revolutionary Etude"?
Read about the Polish history. November uprising (1830-1831)
matys82 thank you very much! I just did it and It was exciting and encouragment to know about the brave people of Poland against the abusive invasion of other country. Thanks again :)
postulanteapensador note that chopin himself didnt name it "revolutionary", another pianist down the road named it that.
I love how it takes about a minute for the title to come up. the people responsible for subtitles were probably too awestruck to put it on
*2019?*
