Incredible Abandoned Square Brick Mansion Built in 1870

  • This incredible mansion was built around 1870 and was originally a huge dairy farm from the information I found on it. Over the years it received many additions to the main house resulting in the strange house shape seen today but it was originally an old colonial revival home. Sadly farming in the area is on a decline and this home has sat empty for the last decade, subject to decay and teenagers. There are no current plans for restoration unfortunately.

Can only imagine what a beautiful home, wrap-around porch, woodwork, and all this was. I think the narrow staircase was probably the servants staircase...usually the mansions from the late 18th, early 20 century had a separate narrow staircase for the servants to do their thing unseen. Another great video Kappy! Thanks for preserving the craftsmanship of these masterpieces before they are is gone...

What another beautiful find, I would love to refurbish this house! The wood work, the doors. The floors looked good too! It looked liked there was a butlers pantry. The beautiful staircases! All the wood paneling . I could go on and on lol! Really nice place!! Thanks, gives me something to dream about!! Lol Good job Kappy! :-)

    Hi Kappy,
What an interesting mansion. I love your videos, especially the way you take your time and go slow. I did want to mention that sometimes the volume is a bit too low. I’m not sure if you are aware of this; I still enjoy watching your videos very much, especially like your attention to details. I’m a subscriber and will continue to watch. You do very good work.

What beautiful woodwork, sadly it's all going to waste. In my area beautiful places like this, just sit rotting away until they, like this house are beyond repair. They then come along, push everything in a hole, and put in a 300 house subdivision. Have you ever thought about metal detecting a place like this, or teaming up with someone that would be interested in it?

Probably in 1880s money it would be about a two million dollar house. There are some family's that pass a house down to their children and the children do the same and they keep the house in top condition. But it's rare to have family's that are responsible and that close. Really nice house Kappy thank you.

I love the architecture it’s amazing and to think no one is saving all that wood and the beautiful metal work with the doors and light fixtures, aaaahhhhh! Great video ...Such a beautiful mansion and the woodwork is stunning... Any idea how long it's been abandoned ? My guess is about 20-25 years...going by the growth of the trees surrounding the home..I believe this house is still worth restoration... if a good soul with a loving heart and finances to support a major renovation and restore this home to it's original condition. If allowed what state is this beautiful dairy farm located ?

What I would love to love , is how is it possile for it to be so trashed inside , and even have a birdnest inside, yet have a brand new mattress on the floor (!). If I lived in America and had the money available, I would go there right now and buy it!
