@@markm391 when I first got to FL I bought a PA14. Loved it. I always knew I’d have a boat, so once I got serious I sold the yak and got a 25ft center console. Had it for two years and sold it. Missed the kayak every day after to sold it, never missed the boat yet. Just got another yak and am giddy to get back into it. Something about being up close and personal, by yourself, etc. love it.
Idk mate, I have a boat and yak; but I always tend to lean more towards the kayak. Different kind of fishing
I second this. I just bought an amazing fishing kayak six months ago and have been loving it. In Florida there are so many spots that are ONLY accessible by kayak so that’s a plus.

Liked this video a lot and appreciate the hard work you put into them. Fishing estuaries with live mullet is my favorite. I like the slow pace until i get a bite and doesn't wear my wrist out castings plugs all day.

Hey I saw you the other day putting in your kayak I didn’t know you fished around here so I didn’t know it was you lol, you can see my cast net when you were doing your intro at the ramp. I was in my grey gheenoe with my dog and I’ve been crushing those mackerel just right in that canal where the boat ramps at if you go further down there’s a spillway down there with some tarpon

In that area for mackerel you should use a silver spoon action lure.
Mullet must be everywhere, catching them with a banana cast! Pleasure watching you son!

What's that little green thing next to your pedal drive? I'm unfamiliar with hobies and peddle drive. lol
It’s a pull tab for forward/reverse. Hobie’s pedal drive does not have instant reverse, you have to pull that tab for reverse which can be difficult when you’re in choppy water fighting a fish or have your hands full. If you watch Rich’s keys fishing video he bangs against some pilings because he has his hands full fighting a fish.
That is a big reason I went with Native Watercraft. Best fishing kayaks on the market along with Bonafide as a close second in my opinion.Those two also have by far the most comfortable seats I’ve experienced which was important to me.

I've never seen a right handed caster use a left handed reel before. That seems difficult.

What bait would u use to shore fish in a siesta key bay?
Live shrimp are good for any shore fishing in Florida. Literally any fish will go for a live shrimp and if you can’t get live shrimp I’d use artificials or maybe cut mullet or blue crabs cut in half or quartered. I’ve only been using artificials since I got a kayak but they don’t seem to work as well on shore. I used to only shore fish with live shrimp on the bottom and have caught everything from whiting and catfish to pompano and sharks. Good luck!
