I'm a pretty hard-core kayak/small boat fisherman.....and you on the east coast of florida make a golf side day of fishing look like trash. It's not even close. I need to make a trip out your way. Cheers and love the channel. 👍 keep up the good work.
It would be so so cool to see you meet up with some of those crazy Australian fishers on the Great Barrier Reef, to target GT (Giant Trevali)! like the old morningtide guys (Cavy, Briggsy, Brooksy, Timmy Turtle, etc) and Rokkit kit and JE wild! would love to see your skills against those beasts, but also negotiate completely different waters like you did in Panama and Brazil... Happy Thanksgiving Rich another great year of fishing from you!
What would you say you are digging more down here in the treasure coast and specifically Stuart… offshore or inshore? I notice you bounce back and forth like a champ and kill it everywhere. Or not really a favorite?
You should have the reel handle on the left side of reel, why? Seems to me you are right handed, that is where you have your most strength. The left hand all it does is turn the reel, notice how you switch hands when fighting a fish. Try it, you might like it.
Okay - so do you eat Goliath Grouper? What's the keeper size? And, you do charters in FL? Would love to know where I could find that information. Great vid - thanks and hope you have a great holiday this week.
they are a protected and pretty threatened/endangered species on all of their range because boomers over killed them in the 60-80s. They are a very long lived and slow growing species so even thought they are making a "comeback" in US waters they are actually still disappearing elsewhere and most of the fish here are the juvenile or 10y olds like that one he just caught. most of their range and food sources are also being affected by warming seas and things like red tides
@@SD-ft6gs alot of that is objectively false. there are a ton of mature adults on the nearshore reefs now to the point you really cant fish for other species since the goliaths will eat them off your hook. its the whole reason florida started experimenting with a very limited season on them. you referenced boomers killing them off at the time and while that did happen, that was a USA thing. that doesnt exactly explain their decline elsewhere. current generation overfishing in countries within their range that dont regulate fisheries is to blame for that.
After seeing Rich, who is not exactly some kinda muscle man, catch huge fish over and over on light tackle fishing out of an over priced plastic kiddie tub no one could ever convince me that technique isnt a huge factor in his success.
Another Banger vid my brother..That juvenile Goliath was epic..I was wondering how much you changer for a charter for 2 ppl..Im a tampa boy and would love to go out and spend the day on water with the manabd the mith and the legend fishaholic..plz if you can get back to me we canexchange numbers or emails and talk further..

Not very computer savvy but is anyone else getting Portugese captions?
His fiancee and family are Brazilian.
Yup!
I don’t get captions
Go to settings and either turn off captions or change to english
Hold down the cc button and pick English from the drop down list.

How were you able to have your drag on and then set by reeling on that first hit?
For translation: Golias grouper in Brazil is called "mero"
Dude, you could have put a saddle on that jack.
Hey rich where do I book a charter with you at? Me and my dad love your videos and would love to go out with you. We are local
You're booking charters again?!
You do charters now?
Have you tried to fish in The Atlantic ocean
Just another fish you can catch if you charter with me that's what he said. Well heck that's every fish in the water
Damn it man that grouper full of oyster stuffing sorry just woke up!!!!
Is this you full time job?
Ayyyy! and now youre hooking them through the mouth and up the nose too :)

I reel on the right as well and am right handed. I've tried to switch but it just doesn't feel right.

You can't keep them, though I heard at one point they were going to start letting some people keep 1 or something like that
@@logan7594 you can keep them. they have a lottery system for tags within a set season so anyone that applies and is picked can keep one i believe.

Over priced plastic kiddie tub? As opposed to the over priced console boats that are on 5-7 year payment plans?
What a backhanded compliment lol
Mmrir
