Any advised for someone getting a kayak for the first time?
Thanks so much!! If you want a peddle kayak there are a lot of different options to chose from now and if you go to a shop I would ask if they have a demo day. So you could meet at a pond or lake and test out the various peddle kayaks. Also lift them to see how heavy it is and if it’s more of a trailer kayak or something you can load in/on your truck. Hobie Outback 2017 or 2018 with the 180 drive would be my go to. You can find that on Facebook marketplace

oh, what kind of mount is that for your fish finder? I have one for the h-rail but it kinda gets in the way, using the sail mast hole would be awesome
I didn’t have a link but I think it’s the 1.5” ram Hobie sail mount ball mount.

Hey Rich, I had a question. When it comes to Dr. Juice or Pro-Cure, if you could only pick one, which one would you go with?
I’ll be honest pro-cure is a little less messy so I prefer it for that reason. Dr Juice is kinda like gulp juice it gets on everything which is kinda pain. But I deal with it because it works. You don’t need both though.
I understand that you fish so much that you become desensitized, but whether small or big, fish are fun. Enjoy fishing, not just catching big fish.
Yeah for sure. Right before I filmed this video I filmed this video th-cam.com/video/44tZjVtJamE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=GjppO71mZvFg-afH and I had a blast surf fishing and catching quantity over quality. But I caught sooo many small snook this day i was ready for a larger one 😂 it’s like catching 20 sunfish and then your ready for a nice largemouth bass.

What pound line do you use for catching tarpon?
Depends on the size. Under 4ft and around light to no structure I’ll use 30lb to 25lb. Over 4ft I prefer min 40lb leader but generally I’ll start even with 60lb to see how the bite is then maybe go to 50lb if I’m not getting bites. When night surf fishing for really big Tarpon near bridges especially I’ve used as heavy as 125lb leader.
