You make it look so easy, but it requires a lot of experience to play that freely with watercolor! Wonderful as always Karen!
I love your style ❤❤

I love the atmospheric touch and how you make it accessable to even me, a true beginner! ❤
I'm so glad!
So beautiful…you make it looks so easy, effortless as your brush dances over the landscape.
Thank you for your generous tutorial.
Thanks Joanne😊
Very atmospheric ... and going into depth
I found your foreground grasses a bit like soldiers in a row, but lovely combination of colors and edges to create distance and light.
I love it, the colors are beautiful! 🥰❤👋
Awesome!!!
Amazing
Thank you 😊
Karen, this didn't pop up in my notifications until today and the second I saw it I was captivated by the image of the painting. What a fantastic tutorial using such a limited palette to create a really atmospheric landscape. Can't wait to give it a whirl. The late, great Ron Ranson used his finger nails to great effect in many of his paintings 🙂Thank you so much as always.
Great to hear from you! Thank you so much! I loved the late and great Ron Ranson. He made watercolour so accessible 💕
Gorgeous!
Thank you! 😊
Your technique and teaching style is very enjoyable and easy to follow. Thank you! This is a great help.
Thank you so much 😊
I love following your tutorials, I almost always get a very good result….. thank you so much! Stevie, York, uk
Thanks Stevie!
I loved painting this. I am usually drawn to brighter colors. I think the colors here may be my new favorites. Very earthy. You are an awesome teacher. The fact that I could paint something I am happy with by watching a 15 minute video is unbelievable. Thank You !
Thank you so much 😀
Terrific Karen - great tips as ever and a lovely painting. Thank you so much 😁🙏

Thank you so much 😊
Wow!
Love your style and techniques Karen! Thank you for your inspiration.
Thank you so much
Beautiful as ever. Thanks, Karen.
Thank you so much 😊
Excellent tks
Majestic effects by keeping it simple, but also paying attention to those classic methods of: wet into wet, damp into wet, damp into damp and wet into dry. I'm finding that using more muted colours also helps with creating more atmosphere. It's hard for me though, because I can be a bit over the top with my colours. This approach here will definitely be one I'll be trying TODAY!
This video is so helpful to me, as I'm still in the stage of being too heavy with the paint, often using too many brushstrokes and not really getting the best our of watercolour with its transparency and white of the paper here and there. Occasionally, I do manage it pull it off, so it's not that I can't paint that way. I think I get too carried away at times and probably need to step back more often and learn when to stop!
Thank you so much for sharing. I am really pleased you found this helpful 😊
Wow this turned out amazing. I’m going to give this a go myself
Have fun!
Thanks so much, Karen. I really enjoyed this tutorial! Beautiful results!

Hey Karen as usual I’m fantasizing about your videos and how they look realistic and what I want to know what size paper do you use
Hi James, I usually use 9 x 12 inches.
I didnt like the photo, but your interpretation was gorgeous !Thanks so much!
Thank you too!
Karen Do you stretch you're 140l b paper? great effect you depict on your work Thanks Peter
I don’t… I use watercolour blocks and they help with warping.
Could you show us how to paint a sunflower field?
Great suggestion. :-)
@@KarenRiceArt Thank you!!
What company made the quin gold that you used?
I have used W&N
I notice you use both hot and cold pressed paper in your paintings. How do you decide which to use?
Thanks for your question Jean. I mostly use cold press paper. However, I do love to use hot press paper, especially when I’m painting line and wash, detailed flowers, and some of my apps tracks. The paint tends to flow better, especially when using the plastic card.
Amazing! I will definitely need to watch again . I love your palette but it’s probably not available anymore , right?
Thank you Sue. The palette is available on Ken Bromley art supplies. Search Loxley Heavyweight.
