Having the palette on the side is SO HELPFUL for a beginner like me. I really needed to gain an understanding of how much of a wash to create, get a better sense of water to pigment ratio, etc. This was a handy visual- thanks as always!
Glad it was helpful!
I really like it when you show your palette and how you mix your colors. It is so helpful, as I am still learning how this medium works. This was really an enjoyable tutorial. Thank you Paul for all you do.
Glad it was helpful!
Great painting. I love clotheslines they are so reminiscent of the good old days. I love watching the clothes blowing in the wind, it's so meditative. Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it Vicki!
Paul you are the absolute best teacher. Thank you ❤
So kind - thanks Ruth!
Thanks for this cheerful tutorial, raising the ordinary, washing on the line, to art! Even the most humble of life's details can be celebrated. For those of us in Canada, putting the laundry out on the line is a harbinger of spring:)
Glad you enjoyed it and roll on spring!
Love this one! The Facebook paintings were so much fun to see as well! Thank you for making my Wednesday!

Absolutely Lovely Paul. Loved the old charm picture. Plus the techniques you showed us.
The details you add are fantastic. The shading.
At first when I saw the title of wash line , I wondered. But nothing is ever just ordinary in your paintings.
Therefore was pleasantly surprised and loved it.
Thank-you and have a wonderful day. 💓
Glad you enjoyed it Sonia - thanks!
@@ArtbyPaulClark always do. Looking forward to next week. 🥰
Happy Watercolor Wednesday Everyone , the best day of the week ! Spring break is over and the littles are back in school, and now maybe I can get some painting done ! It has been a challenge standing up and then keeping up with my foot recon still healing in an air cast , Wah !
I Love it when you choose a picture from one of Margot’s challenges and then show all those beautiful paintings from the group at the end! I had a lot of fun with this challenge and look forward to painting this beauty, I always learn something new every week ! One thing, I can never tell which is the right side to paint on of this Saunders 300lb rough paper!
Thank you Always Paul ! Many blessings to you and Margot ! 😊
Cheers Gretchen - thanks as always .... and there should be a logo embossed on the paper to show the right side! ... although I have painted on the back, several times and it's still fine!

This brings fond memories of my Grandmother on laundry day... some 60 years ago! Yes! The fragrance of her sheets was almost as good as her cookies! 😂
Very beautiful, Paul! Also appreciate the paintings from the Facebook group. Quite lovely! Take care, Sir Paul! With love & gratitude from a California Gramma ❤

The potted plants add a bit of beauty to the mundane task of hanging laundry, although I have never minded doing laundry. Really nice painting. Thank you.
I was amazed you found a wine with the name.....oh you didn't! Made me laugh of course! I cringe when an artist says a shadow is grey and I think of all I have learned from you.
I really enjoyed the diversity in the paintings by FB group members. Such talent.
Great to hear thanks .... Maybe I ought to get that wine made!!!
Another great video. !😊 Can’t believe how helpful it was to see your palette as you painted!! It really helps me understand how you get the colors you do. …and how much water you use. Would love it if you can do it again when you can.
Glad it was helpful!

Wow! What an impressive array from the Facebook group! Also the addition of the cobalt blue and dioxozine(?) purple adds a prismatic effect! Thanks Mr Clark. Lovely work. And my favorite vintage is Pinot Noir, too! 🍷. Cheers 🥂

Great tutorial, Paul. And thanks for pointing out that missing cast shadow. It's not something most of us can spot. Happy painting!

This looks like such a fun subject to try. Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent with us. I do so look forward to Watercolor Wednesdays. God Bless.

Wonderful as usual! It reminds me of those lovely alleys of some mediterranean village in the south of Italy! Thank you, Paul for this tutorial and congratulations to the artists who posted on the FB group. Really beautiful.😍
Glad you enjoyed it - thanks!
Love this one for its simplicity. And the art class pieces were wonderful. So many clever depictions. And talent!
Thank you! Cheers!
Love your style of painting and tutoring..thank you so much for the inspiration 😊❤
Thanks so much 😊
Thanks so much 😊
I can’t wait to try this. I love seeing the work of other artists as I don’t get on Facebook too much these days. Thank you!
You are so welcome!
Love it! Also really like seeing the palette and the real time section. Sometimes I try to paint as fast as the 4X sections lol.
Thanks ... yes, me too!
I am back to say that you quite outdid yourself with the textures and the shadows in this one! I got so curious about your 'hang out' pun that I forgot to compliment you on the skill with which you built the sense of the old time-worn alley with the textures and patina that develop with the passing of the ages. So good it brought back memories of wandering through passages just like this one with the play of light in the twists and turns of the alleyways.
Lovely to hear - many thanks
Hello dear Paul! I’m glad to see you again in the painting studio, and as always, on Wednesday. Your video lesson is always dear and interesting to me! Good morning Paul! This was such a lovely video for me to wake up to. I enjoyed sipping my coffee and watching this scene come to life. You are the best teacher of watercolor painting. Every step is explained. I really appreciate all you do for us online folks. Getting across the pond is just too hard for me at the moment but I look forward to Wednesdays and learning new techniques and tips from you. It’s almost like we are sitting together and painting. Have you ever thought about going live? Would love to watch you paint live. Plus the chat would be fun. I’m off to try to paint this very peaceful and calm scene. Much love and prayers for you and Margot. ❤🙏🏻
Thank you, dear Jacqueline! I always congratulate my friends and they me too! Your Facebook profile was decorated beautifully today and asked me to congratulate you on Angel Day. That’s why I found out your date of birth!☺️😊

@@ArtbyPaulClark thank you a much! It’s been a great day of tornado warnings 🌪️ And thunderstorms ⛈️ lol so watching the news and holding my terrified yorkie. Lol. I’ll try to get in the studio to paint if I can. Maybe plan to go live when you approach a milestone in subscribers. We can watch it live! lol
Good to learn techniques, thank you .
Glad it was helpful!
Grazie mille sei il mio artista preferito...i tuoi dipinti sono meravigliosi... grazie ancora
too!
Since i am the black sheep always talking about the drinks... What about a good Italian wine in the future? Something that you should easily find there is the Lambrusco, in the version "frizzante" (slightly sparkling)... it is juuuuusst slightly "amabile" (sweet), and it is perfect to be drunk alone in in the drying-time pause ;) Good job with the painting, as usual!
Oh, yes, I've had a few glasses in my time ... perhaps a bit sweet for me but still great!
Loved this one reminded me of past holidays in Italy 🤗. Thanks Paul 🤗🦋
Happy to help!
