People are trying to validate being upset that they wont get an early access vs getting a test session. It's been made clear for years what they planned their alphas to be. The only reason its gotten to the point it has so much negativity around it is from a number of content creators that are willing to misplay things in order to get views, a number of people who've decided to throw money6 at something despite only watching a 30second clip/one video on ashes and decided thought shouldn't be put into a purchase. Long story short Its good to see people like you being positive while also calling out the absurdity of everyone else. You have my like and comment for the algorithms
I think I would never have bought a key, as I just did (wave 1), if I have not witness so many negative vids showing me what matters the most for me: yes, AOC will natively push away all gamers I really don't want to have on this game. The same gamers they are ruining MMRORPG gender social experience for years. So, thanks guys for the negative attitude combined with wrong conclusion, I do believe AOC will be a master piece for gamers as myself.
they have made it extremely clear that it is an actual alpha test, anyone that states anything other than that are either being intentionally obtuse, or have been duped by people who were intentionally misinforming people.
@@baneblackguard584 there is a lot of overlap between the two which I hope I highlighted well in this video. Early access has a different level of expectations which will not be met.
This confusion will happen every time people decide to jump into A2 over the next 2 years. People are used to early access and the masses wont get it. Why did I spend $100 USD on this 1/2 baked game will be the comments. They will write reviews and post videos. Are you rdy? lol
The idea of a game with a crafting system that's actually viable, that can create comparable if not better equipment than what normally drops in a dungeon, gets me so hard. But as you said it's a very ambitious thing. I'm fine with paying money and testing to make sure that it gets the attention it needs. But do you think something on that scope is even achievable?
The point of Alpha 2 seems to be avoiding the sunk cost fallacy, where you can't change something for the better because that involves throwing out months of work. I feel like this is the most healthy perspective for the alpha - this system isn't there because they don't want to build it all out based on core functionality that might be changed.
I feel Alpha 2 will be very fluid. It is definitely a true alpha test, but as time goes on and phases are implemented, it will approach early accrss before beta.
The same or more content during phase 1 than the launch of New World ? Ha i siad that during the AMA. Yah i can see alot of people comparing the two and not being able to decern between a completed "game" and an alpha test. Question for you , how many of the poop flingers are going to lose steam when the next live stream happens in 10 days and people start tripping over themselves to get an alpha key ?
Wait did you delete my comment? You didn't address anyone's argument in the video, both Wikipedia and Steam's definition of Early Access make it clear that the Alpha 2 is early access. Again, your new definitions you present in the video isn't some expectation gamers have about the words "Early Access", that's just what you and Intrepid think it should mean in terms of marketing.
@@goalid9714 I didn't delete it, the other guy deleted the thread. I responded and said that alpha 2 is early access, but by how it's rolled out isn't going to be as feature complete as other early access games. I say as such at the 1:40 mark Wikipedia and steam are not arbiters of sourced information, but even if you want to take their definition, early access can happen in the pre alpha, Alpha, pre beta and beta stages. Being clear that this will not be as polished as other games with the early access title is important. It seems pretty clear to me that if the goal was to get more key sales you would just say it's early access, because by technical definition it is, and then live with the fallout when expectations of a traditional early access game are not met. Or you could be transparent with your goals, identify exactly where you're at so that people know what they're buying. I'm not sure why you want to obfuscate here but it's bad business to do so.

Camelot Unchained never got this far into development. They sold the engine long before an Alpha 2 was even considered so no.
