Growling, without technique, blows the vocal chords, damages the larinx, but Alyssa know how to do it properly. If you like female growling vocalists check the bands X-Tintion, Blind Ivy, Walls of Jericho, Your Chance To Die, Abnormality, Frantic Amber. Cripper.

I'm glad that there are not a bunch of negative comments on here, seems like your fanbase is actually pretty nice, unlike a lot of reaction channels. This stuff takes a lot of getting used to. I listen to stuff way crazier than this now, but I remember how shocked I was the first time I heard Alissa scream/growl for the first time too. It took me a couple years of liking metal to get into harsh vocals. Amon Amarth, Death, and Morbid Angel were probably the first bands I liked with harsher vocals. That was back in 8th grade or so, but now I love deathcore and death metal! So, it may take some time to appreciate it more. You didn't immediately reject it, so the progression has begun hahaha! Kamelot was opening for Nightwish on that tour, and at the Denver show a couple of weeks before, Anette Olzon, (the lead singer of Nightwish at that time) got really sick and couldn't perform. So very last minute, Alyssa White-Gluz and Elize Ryd, volunteered to both sing lead for Nigtwish that night. Then of course, Floor Jansen flew out to sing lead for Nightwish for the rest of the tour, and has been giving TH-cam reactors goosebumps ever since.

For a couple of bands that do a bit lighter mix of cleans and growls than Jinjer, I'd suggest Spiritbox's Blessed Be and Infected Rain's Orphan Soul. If you feel masochistic some time, check out Angela Gossow doing Nemesis live in Tokyo in 2008. Definitely not in the morning unless you need to clean stuff or something. Angela is a beast. And her abs are goals haha. Her on-stage persona is more MMA fighter or pro kickboxer than fantasy game character.

This girl is so fragile. It's just metal, young one. This "mythical being" is Alissa White-Gluz, from Canada. She is the third lead voice from Arch Enemy. She was preceeded by German Angela Gossow, which packed a serious punch, and a man, Johan Liiva, a Swede, which was the more estereotypical metal singer, yet very competent. On guitar you have two myths of metal: Michael Ammot was the guy who cranked up the melodic guitar in the legendary band Carcass and Jeff Loomis is the behemoth that played 7 strings guitar for Nevermore, a much more raw metal experience. I think this girl would not be able to appreciate Carcass nor Nevermore. Daniel Erlandsson (drums) and Sharlee D'Angelo (bass) are in Arch Enemy since the beginning, I think. They are not as famous, but never skip a beat. But I guess Kpop fans wouldn't know outstanding musicians if they hit them in the face with their music. I'm sorry, it's just.. life is so boring without metal in it. I don't know how you people can stand it.

The non ideal sound mix is a bit annoying but I gotta say that after watching this version of the song I really started to appreciate it and now put this as one of the best if not the best. Alissa is bad ass here. Facial expressions and acting etc. More please. Thanks for reacting. Enjoyed it!
This girl is so fragile. It's just metal, young one. This "mythical being" is Alissa White-Gluz, from Canada. She is the third lead voice from Arch Enemy. She was preceeded by German Angela Gossow, which packed a serious punch, and a man, Johan Liiva, a Swede, which was the more estereotypical metal singer, yet very competent. On guitar you have two myths of metal: Michael Ammot was the guy who cranked up the melodic guitar in the legendary band Carcass and Jeff Loomis is the behemoth that played 7 strings guitar for Nevermore, a much more raw metal experience. I think this girl would not be able to appreciate Carcass nor Nevermore. Daniel Erlandsson (drums) and Sharlee D'Angelo (bass) are in Arch Enemy since the beginning, I think. They are not as famous, but never skip a beat. But I guess Kpop fans wouldn't know outstanding musicians if they hit them in the face with their music. I'm sorry, it's just.. life is so boring without metal in it. I don't know how you people can stand it.

If you want to see a great transition from clean singing to growls by an amazing female singer, you should check "crucifère" by Eths
I think "Reason to Believe" would have been better first song.
If you want to start a female singing serie, just react to Oathbreaker - "10,56 Second Son of R." (music video or live Audiotree session). Different mood, clean voices in there, but clearly darker than AE or Jinjer. Cheers from the inside (7th day closed here) !
