Sweden has the best melodic death metal bands. Arch Enemy, In Flames, Soilwork, Amon Amarth, Entombed just to name a few. The Soilwork song ”Nerve” is one I really recommend

You NEED to react to The Ghost Inside - Aftermath. They were involved in a deadly tour bus crash in 2014 resulting in 2 deaths everyone in the band being seriously injured. The drummer lost half his leg and his father made something for him to be able to still play. These guys were the bridge that connected me into metal in 2009. You NEED to Alex. Do some research and back story and enjoy this amazing band.

Alissa White-Gluz is so a nice human being. So talented, I'm following her since The Agonist. She have a nice clear voice to.
Please, PLEASE, react to "...and Their Eulogies Sang me to Sleep" by The Agonist. It's Alissa's original band. Also, check out "Thank You, Pain" by the same band. The two songs showcase a lot more of her vocal range and abilities. Her voice in Arch Enemy isn't even close to what she did with The Agonist. Her lows can rival any man's in death metal. She also did an Acapella rendition of "Swan Lake" and it's so fucking beautiful it'll bring you to tears.

I’d go for “Business Suits and Combat Boots” or “Rise and Fall” or “Born Dead, Buried Alive” or “Take a Bow” or “Trophy Kill” from their first album, titled “Once Only Imagined”. Not to mention the album “Prisoners” has some hot takes, too. That’s not to forget Vicki’s contributions to the continuation of the band, where the latest album, “Orphans”, was outstanding.
@@metallikat05 "Business Suits and Combat Boots" is an excellent song with a great message but, musically, it doesn't even come CLOSE to how they played in subsequent albums. "Once Only Imagined" was good but it was still bland metalcore. "Lullabies for the Dormant Mind" saw them change into something special. Still, definitely listen to those songs too, Alex! Lol

Two Arch Enemy songs that I would recommend is The Eagle Flies Alone and Reason to Believe. Reason to Believe really shows Alissa's vocal range.
fun fact: Angela Gossow picked Alyssa to be her replacement and Angela stayed on as the bands manager. also Alyssa's husband, Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein, is a beast of a dude.

If you love the vocalist, Alissa, she used to be the vocalist for a band called The Agonist. One of their best song (in my opinion) is "and Their Eulogies Sang Me to Sleep." Her range in her vocals is pretty impressive, and I think that song is a good example of it.

I loved The Agonist when she was with them and loved Arch Enemy before her, but the new Agonist singer does nothing for me, and Arch Enemy suck these days. Not really her fault, they're just dull musically.

The drummer is one of the 2 Erlandson brothers. Both drummers. They have been the inspiration that kept me drumming for years. Daniel plays for Arch Enemy and his Brother Adrian used to play for Cradle of Filth. Their best drummer to date IMO.

Arch Enemy, Under Black Flags We March, and Apocalypse. Both are done by the earlier female vocalist Angela.
The Arch Enemy videos don't even do their live show justice, seriously. If you get a chance I highly recommend seeing them live.
So far you've listened to "War Eternal" and "You Will Know My Name" (both on the same album, "War Eternal"), there's one other great song on that album that you need to react to....song title is "As The Pages Burn"

The Agonist with Vicky also kicks ass. Orphans is AT LEAST on par with their Lullabies era. In Vertigo is basically revolutionary for the definition of melodic death metal as it's implementing a decent amount of symphonic elements (the background choir vocals) thus creating something that should be called symphonic melodeath.
Arch Enemy...The eagle flies alone is another bad ass track! Also, Anything from Amaranthe is pretty awesome to! They have a nice variety to their group with female lead singing vocals, Metal screaming, hard rock vocals, and the music is metal as hell!

First time I saw Arch Enemy was with the original singer, I hadn't listened to them much so I didn't know the lead singer was female. Needless to say, when this cute little blonde waltzed onto the stage and let out this epic scream my mind was blown. Chicks that can scream like that can clearly kick everyone's ass in a brawl. Another good example of unexpected voices was the lead singer of Soil. Never would have expected such a big voice from a tiny dude.
The Ghost Inside just dropped “Aftermath”, an awesome and emotional song/video. You should definitely check it out!

@Alex The drummer is Daniel Erlandsson and he has fantastic technique and groove. He also use electronic effects in some songs. The entire band are extremely good musicians.

Alissa briefly had to fill in for Nightwish along with Elize from Amaranthe when Annette the singer before Floor had to be rushed to the hospital before a show in Denver in 2013. Annette was unhappy about thr band doing this and it would lead to her leaving the group and Floor becoming the lead singer of Nightwish

Daniel's older brother Adrian is also an amazing drummer. He played for Cradle of Filth amongst many other bands, but his main band has always been At the Gates. They are a must listen. Anything off of their album Slaughter of the Soul is worth hearing. I'd start with Cold though. 90s metal!
AE's drummer is probably one of the most under rated in all of metal. You never see his name in any of the top drummer lists though he's arguably better than most of the drummers on those lists.

I would go for The Seven Angels, that's the song that got me absolutely hooked on Avantasia. But The Scarecrow would possibly be a better reaction song.

She did that years before she became a thing trough arch enemy. Here some examples The Agonist: thank you pain, panophobia, ideomotor (8 minute version has a great instrumental part at the end). Duett with Tarja Turunen - Demons in you.
Another thing that needs to be mentioned: she isnt only a screemo, she has a way more skilled voice then you will get with arch enemy tracks. Remember Jinjer? I dont get why Jinjer are as popular as they are but now one heard of the Agonist, which i think have a cooler song structure.
