    If you use the tubing and the doors are too hard to close it means you used the wrong tubing. This here is a hack that won't make the rest of the door seal well. Sure it closes nicely but that's it. The latex tubing hack fixes several issues.

    worked like a charm....2013 F350 had door rattle over bumps. this trick cured that . $9 at hardware store

    I used the sergical tubing on my 2017 F250. It seemed to have solved the issue. I also used it on my 2006 Mustang GT Convertible seal above the windshield and it gave me a better seal and the wind noise stopped. But in most cases, keeping the weather striping clean and lubricated helps out a lot.

    Pure grade silicone surgical tubing is the absolute best fix for the 99 up super duty doors. A 100 foot roll can be found for less than $30 online. I did this over ten years ago on my 2004 F350 and the doors still shut better than 2021 Super Duty

    A customer would never accept that as a Repair at a dealership. The adding tubing inside was a factory repair years ago for wind noise

    I have a 05 Expedition xlt with the same issue. I just loosen bracket to push it back and tighten. It closes nice and tight with no shaking or rattling.

    I LOVE adding $20 worth of junk to my $70,000+ truck just to make my doors close better!! Makes me enjoy that High class build and super strong C channel frame.

      I can handle the loss of $20 for a improvement! Much better than paying $70k for a truck that doesn't even have rear AC vents.

      also, crazy that people pay millions for a custom house just to end up adding $20 worth of little things here and there. Same goes for just about everything you buy these days. Tell me what boat or RV owner hasn't added little improvements here or there that were under $20. I didn't say my truck was perfect, quite the contrary, but at least I can admit when I do little improvements.

      Let me know how much you want for the cummins after your dodge finishes rotting around it.

    i would presume this may cause air noises in the parts without the extra seal.

    Thanks for posting this video. I was wondering if you might be able to help me through a problem Im trying to work through. My 06 Superduty was stolen and later recovered. Theves hammered the door lock, can't find a replacement for the door handle. They look exactly like yours. Searched high and low and coloured door handles are simply not available says ford for that year. Is your truck all stock, or do you have aftermarket door handles? It's possible that the previous owner of my truck just had some painted to look like the 2011 version you have.

    I have recently heard your same complaint about the surgical tubing mod from more than one person and I am hesitating on doing my truck for that reason. I like your idea here and am willing to try it instead, but I am also concerned that the overlap of the door seal and weatherstrip you installed will allow water to ingress where the two meet (that area above and below the weatherstrip has to have at least a little gap to it...)
    Can you see or tell that you've had any issues like this since install??

    • @BigTruckBigRV
      @BigTruckBigRV  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jeb M: I've had no issues thus far and have been in some pretty heavy rainstorms since installing. Because of the location, I believe it allows water to channel around it or perhaps water doesn't even make it down there.

      Big Truck Big RV Is the only spot you added these strips right by the striker? Any up at the top or bottom of the door? I think you would be right in saying that water doesn't even make it there unless it's extreme circumstance

    • @BigTruckBigRV
      @BigTruckBigRV  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jeb M: I've since removed the stripped that I showed in this video (they were what I had available at the time and were a little unnecessarily large) and replaced them with a 1/2" version of the same stuff. I have it in the exact same area and works just as well.

    My issue on my new f150 is they are so air tight that one of my rear doors requires more force then others to shut. They tried to fix it 3 times but no success, anybody know if this will fix that

      Open other door or roll down a window prior to closing

      Crack or roll down the winder a little so it won't be so air tight should help it close easier
