Recently, we have been hearing about many Importers facing clearance delays for their shipments because they do not have EPR Registration.
We often receive similar questions related to this topic: "Do we need EPR Registration? We are a small company or small importers who only import 4 to 5 times a year, and we don't deal with plastic products. So, do we need to obtain this EPR Certificate?"

Hi sir,
I have a question we are importing the packing material pa PE roll to packed the orthopaedic implants, and we packed the our implant in that packet and dispatch to other countries, does we need the EPR certificate??

As per latest Rules published on. 14th March 2024, Please find below the definition of Importer.
"Importer" means a person who imports for commercial use, any plastic packaging or any commodity with plastic packaging or carry bags or plastic sheets or like material, or plastic raw material including in the form of resin
or pellets, or intermediate material to be used for manufacturing plastic packaging such as films or preforms;"
If you are falling in this Category then Registration is required.

If we are OEM in USA and shipping goods directly to our end customer and /or to distributor who are IOR and owner of the goods then do our company need to do EPR registration being foreign outside India company???

The Distributor/End-Customer/Importer needs to obtain EPR Registration if plastic is used as a packaging, not your foreign company based out of India.

Dear sir We are mfg the bags our process is we bring the hdpe rolls /cutting as per there size / stitching is done & then printing is done as per there requirement. Also if Liner are required which are inserted in the bags ie. HDHM Or LDPE
We stitching the bags as per there specification and supplying to Big company
do we have to register in EPR do revert back
