Extending, sliding, lifting bed with storage for camper van conversions

- This seat/bed was custom made to fit into the space at the back of a VW Crafter van conversion.
With a simple mechanism of hidden support rails, the bed pulls out to nearly double its width while the slats remain firmly in place. When closed back into the seat position it lifts up as one piece to access the storage within.

Looks nice but that would definately colapse with the weight of two persons imo. I guess you just would have to adjust that. Cheers from Estambul

Beautiful design, however, the sliding part ( vertical support ) might not be strong enough to support for sleeping especially big guy ! Suggest you strength both vertical & horizontal of the sliding ....

The the stationary section seem to have a wood strip underneath, and I believe the pull out section also has one. basically, when they slide out they are not supporting each other. but when they are slid together the strips support the sliding out section. that's why you can pull up the bed to access the storage when they are together. :)

I always wonder the same thing. My kids have had beds with slats bigger than those and they crack. Not so much how safe, but how long would it last. Cool though!
What an amateur. #3, a person inexperienced or unskilled in a particular activity: blah, blah. Couldn't support squat.
