I used to listen to Johnny's music at a little roadhouse when I was in the Air Force. That was in 1963. I'm an old man now, and I still love his music. God love you, Brother.
When Johnny got up in age, his music became more of a feeling and I could feel a lot of pain in his songs. There will only ever be 1 MAN IN BLACK !! A legend RIP Mr. CASH !!💔
Hell man i just love that voice , terrific recording , this is the way I like it , the vocal well forward from the music where are you can hear every word 🎸🎸🎸🎸👍🎸🎸🎸🎸 so much music these days the vocals are lost,, buried,,, (behind) the music 👍👍👍
Johnny è magnifico in questa reinterpretazione. La sua storia è leggenda, diavolo amico. Johnny che ha sempre sofferto per quello che era. La nostra condanna è fare i conti con noi stessi.....cavalli di razza.
So true, a jarhead requiem, this. I remember like it was yesterday, my final month in the Corps (September 1964) and this song, by the Animals, made the billboards. In the evenings and on the weekends you heard it from the windows in the Company street, playing in the barracks. It resonated with us because we all back then felt a connection with the lost, poor boys that this song was written for. So your comment about jarheads rings absolutely true to life. Johnny’s version is great but I do recommend finding the 1964 version by the Animals.
@@lonetree1941 My Gpa joined in '64 went to Vietnam in '65 did 3 tours then got out in '75 because of something about the battle for Koh Tang Island, Cambodia. The only thing he'll say is 'Ford the prick made us leave them'. I've searched the internet to see if I could find out what happened and talked with Marines who were there but they don't seem to want to talk about it either. All I could gather was 3 Marines were left behind after the battle. As he would say to you, Semper FI and I say TY for your service.

I have to say fair play like I’m a big Johnny fan even though I’m quite young but none the less it sounds good like really good keep the covers up 👍👍👍 never thought I’d be hearing him but through another pair of vocal cords

Johhny is about the only singer to do this song at the level of perfection that The Animals performs it at.
Все как надо, спасибо!

Just as brilliant as the Animals version but with Cashe’s stamp on it. Whatever covers he’s done he’s done them bloody well.

This satisfies me on such a deep level
There is a house in New Orleans
They call the Rising Sun
It′s been the ruin of many a poor boy
And God, I know I'm one
My mother was a tailor
She sewed my new blue jeans
My father was a gamblin′ man
Way down in New Orleans
Now the only thing a gambler needs
Is a suitcase and trunk
And the only time he feels satisfied
Is when he's on a drunk
Oh, mothers, tell your children
Not to do what I have done
Spend your lives in sin and misery
In the house of the Rising Sun
I've got one foot on the platform
And the other foot on the train
I′m goin′ right back, on down to New Orleans
To wear that ball and chain
There is a house in New Orleans
They call the Rising Sun
And it's been the ruin of many a poor boy
And God, I know I′m one
My God, I know I'm one

I see how fragile and short-lived men really are, everything that once knew is gone and gone for good, everything in this planet is transient.
