I got a problem where my deadbolt lock has locked me out of my house. I had to get in through the back door. I am not able to get lock to disengage. I can hear mechanism trying to unlock but it will not. I have looked at a few of your video's but the all say that the deadbolt has to be retracted. I am not able to retract it. I want to try the default reset but am afraid I may make thing worst. Please advise or give me some ideas of fixing this problem. I did change out the batteries even though they were at 78%.
Are you able to retract the bolt using the thumbturn on the inside trim on the door? If so then it may be that the motor in the lock has either stripped gears or otherwise gone bad. If you are not able to unlock it from the inside, then the tailpiece from the cylinder may have broken (it’s basically like a drive shaft for the lock). In either case, I would recommend calling a local locksmith to come out and see if there are alignment issues with the door and also get it to open. If the motor has gone bad, Schlage May warranty the entire lock for you.
@@LockPickingPatrolman No that wouldnt work either. I went as far as disassembling and tried a flat head screwdriver and not to much force. It is jammed, when I try to do my code, you can hear motor trying to unlock but it will not.

@@RaiderGodfather then I would definitely call a local locksmith. It sounds as though there could be issues with the door itself.
