Gosh I'm so jealous now. I really love your built deck and slide. Wish we lived in a warmer area so we could leave it up all year. I would so do that. Great Job!
did u build that deck? i plan on buying this same pool in few weeks im just blown away at how wonderful your setup looks! i hope to make mine look just a piece of what yours looks like! amazing!
Looks great. My question is with great specificity, what type of pieces are required to connect the PVC to the salt water and on the other side to the pool? I've been going crazy trying to get my PVC to connect leak-free to the pool and to the salt water.
Great idea and job. THe only thing I would have done different would be to use the fountain on the higher level connection and the pump output on the lower one. This would keep the water moving below the surface and cut down on the noise. I still luv the idea.
Wonderful job!! I'm interested in doing the same only problem I have is that my intex pool is 15x4 and it didnt come with open inlet and outlet holes! it has those black rubber adapters that I have to cut away so I can upgrade to bigger and better inlets and returns. Plus I want to do the in the wall skimmer! Any suggestions on these issues I'm gonna have to tackle would be very helpful! Thanks, love your ideas way to go:)
@jsf0656 sounds good my friend, where did you get it from just a local pool place? oh and i have a 24ft did the sthrenght of the wall seem to lesson when you added it? last question and ill leave you alone lol. did you do this with water in it or the open of the season when pool is almost empty. thanks man this is great stuff
i have a question we have the 20 ft model pool you have and would the walls support a wide mouth through the wall skimmer or would it be too much weight for the pool walls
All this is very nice but I went to home depot and the fittings don't work on 1/14 pipe or coupling, so tell me how did you do it, the fittings that come with the salt water system is to long for an elbow and it wont fit on a standard 1 1/4 and there is one side of the salt water system that doesn't bring a coupling so where did you find the other one.
Did you install the thru the wall skimmer? I have an intex pool and was thinking about buying one and installing myself but a little scared cutting into the pool. Could you give me your input on this....thanks and nice set-up
Can you tell me what brand of skimmer you used. I asked Hayward (I believe) and they said it would not work on a soft wall pool. I have a pool just like yours and I would like to hard plumb and add a fountain. Any way I can get a good detailed description of what you used especially the fittings?
Just noticed the slide? Is that a good idea for use in a above ground pool? Let me know how it works for you I have a 19x9 intex I built a deck on one end for easier entry and exit. My family would truly enjoy a slide if it is safe that is...I would want 6000 gallons of water letting loose on my property.
yes i know another question ,what size base do you have under the pump and salt filter? i mad mine 3 ft by 4ft i do not have my pump yet. I was estimating your patio stones 3 by 4 ft is that right?
how did you connect pvc to the pool liner.I found a plumming connection simular to yours, but in the store after i hand tightened it,it still had play between the pvc adapter and the standard intex hose fitting.maybe onse I installed it ,it would be ok,but probably would leak.
Can you please tell me what size pipe valves and the like we need to buy. I am not a plumber but really want to do this. Can you send me a list of what I need to buy at Lowe's any sizes and the like. PLEASE and THANK YOU .
I have to agree it is nice but the one thing is that the water going to the fountain is not being run thru the salt water system. P.S. do you answer these questions? you have a lot of fans.....
@jsf0656 I tried all that earlier from reading on TFP site. There were air bubbles earlier but havent had anymore since, and i did backwash. the PSI is only at ~5. Looking at the output on the pool it doesnt look like it puts out much more water than my 1000gph intex cartridge that came with it. But i hooked up the Intex skimmer basket to the intake and just by looking at that i can tell that its pulling a LOT more water.. I guess I"m just being paranoid. just seems like low flow ;(
I really love the fountain idea but.......I just don't understand what the benefits are to go through all the trouble to run pvc in place of the already supplied heavy duty uv rated flex hose that's the same size.
@jsf0656 I just got my intex sand filter set up today and while it pushes a heck of a lot more water than my old 1000gph one that came with the pool did, it doesn't seem to push nearly as much water as yours is.. its the 2100gph model. Do you know what could be causing the reduced flow?
I agree with many others this is such an excellent set up but there are no replies to any of the questions does anyone here know any of these answers that are being asked?
You did a very nice job, it's a shame you used the wrong fittings. All of your elbow are DWV fittings and they are not made to handle pressure. Hope you've replaced them.
Those "ARE" good to 300 constant psi way more than is needed here . minimum burst at this diam is 870 psi . so i ask you why did you post nonsense ? they psi "leak check" schedule 40 at 150 psi with air on new homes do you think that psi is achieved here ! lmao idiot !
John Cook DWV fitting are for drains, waste, and vent piping as the name obviously implies. They are not designed or warranted for pressure. Will they work for the relatively low pressure of a pool system? Probably. Will they last? Maybe. Are they correct? No. Will the pass an inspection? No. It's fine with me if you want to cheap out and buy inferior fittings, It's your yard that will flood if they fail, not mine. But if you want to post a video showing others how to do something, then at least do it right. And your own idiocy is showing when you lash out at someone who is trying to offer constructive help.
I will say it again though it is rated as no pressure plumbers test the pipes and the fittings at 150 psi i have seen this thousands of times . they do this to mae sure there are no leaks "because drains can Leak" the schedule 40 dwv pressure charts from charolette pipe show the rated pis of the dwv fiittngs and there minimum burst pressure > I get it that you have trouble understanding that waste as it sewage lift pumps in basements are one of the applications for this pipe and its fittings "LMAO" . that is more pressure than this pools pump you are just some moron who thinks he knows his stuff i can take you into 10 million homes with sewage lift pumps and make my point every time . they do not use cpvc on those pumps or any pressure pipe for them "there is no need " . so if you can show me where one building code states the need for pressure pipe for these pump please share the link . i can only assume you are from canada cause in my many years of construction i have not seen at one time pressure pipe used for a sewage pump NEVER! And never saw one fail an inspection for using dwv pipe for them . So If a sewage pump whick is a more powerful pump than this pools pump can pass a building inspection with this pipe being used how is this person use of it in any way incorrect . explain that hell man google sewage lift pump images and tell me SMART ASS !! what pipe you see being used cause i have and i can tell you almost everyone i saw except for ones in oldddddddd homes "which had copper " were sched 40 with dwv fittings .
so if they test them at that pressure surely this is okay is my point also please see this chart www.inmetro.gov.br/barreirastecnicas/pontofocal/..%5Cpontofocal%5Ctextos%5Cregulamentos%5CTTO_24.pdf as it wil show you the MINIMUM BURST PRESSURE for dwv pipe the reason for dwv is it aviods clogs in the drain system . where pressure fittings would cause a clog the wall thickness is the same on the two fittings . the difference is the angles on the 90's and other special dwv fittings directional t's ect . they are made to drain .
Gosh I'm so jealous now. I really love your built deck and slide. Wish we lived in a warmer area so we could leave it up all year. I would so do that. Great Job!
Gotta say it! Great Job! You should be proud of your self. you can tell you enjoyed doing it.
Very clean and quality job!
did u build that deck? i plan on buying this same pool in few weeks im just blown away at how wonderful your setup looks! i hope to make mine look just a piece of what yours looks like! amazing!

Thats a lot of pressure on an Intex. I have never seen a Intex salt water system push that much water. Nice video.
Great idea and job. THe only thing I would have done different would be to use the fountain on the higher level connection and the pump output on the lower one. This would keep the water moving below the surface and cut down on the noise. I still luv the idea.
Looks good buddy!
Great looking pool. Do you leave it up all year. If so, any proplems? What type of climate? Thanks.
Very impressive!!! I'm having my husband do this!
Nicely done!
Wonderful job!! I'm interested in doing the same only problem I have is that my intex pool is 15x4 and it didnt come with open inlet and outlet holes! it has those black rubber adapters that I have to cut away so I can upgrade to bigger and better inlets and returns. For a above ground pool you have a great setup there
Beautiful set up. Is the salt system pulling the water because your pump does not appear to be running.
nice...I just ordered my new sand pump and skimmer. I can only be so lucky to have it turn out this nice! Do ya hire yourself out?? :)
Great job!
Like the hard piping.
What do you vacuum the pool?
Outstanding build. Could you please post a materials list if you can remember? I want to ensure I get the same skimmer. Thanks!

also i see you have a new slide and changed the position of the ladder, your a busy man
Just noticed the slide? Is that a good idea for use in a above ground pool? Let me know how it works for you I have a 19x9 intex I built a deck on one end for easier entry and exit. My family would truly enjoy a slide if it is safe that is...I would want 6000 gallons of water letting loose on my property.
How many pools do you have i see that you show one pool with the skimmer and one with out.
which section does home depot keep those adapters in plumbing or electrical? do u remember what it is called?
yes i know another question ,what size base do you have under the pump and salt filter? i mad mine 3 ft by 4ft i do not have my pump yet. I was estimating your patio stones 3 by 4 ft is that right?
Didi you add the skimmer after you bought the pool?

Did the metal beams on the pool rust away because of the salt water?
I would like to know how you added the skimmer to the sidewall..did you just "cut" the opening?
Can you please tell me what you uses to connect the pvc pipe to the filter?
Thank you kindly

Do you live in a climate in which you can leave this up year round or do you disassemble every tear? Thanks.
@jsf0656 about putting the skimmer on, like details exactly how you did it.
How do you back wash your sand without losing your salt water?
Hello. Just curious, how is the pvc connected to the joints? Do you not have to use the adhesive?
I really love the fountain idea but.......I just don't understand what the benefits are to go through all the trouble to run pvc in place of the already supplied heavy duty uv rated flex hose that's the same size.
I have a same pool with skimmer can I please get a parts list to recreate this for my pool. thanks
How did you add skimmer? Is there a video that shows how to do it?
@jsf0656

I want to hard plumb but, my concern with the soft sided pools is movements making the PVC crack. Have you experienced this?
How does the pvc attach inside the pool to the skimmers
can you show us how you vacumm the pool
I agree with many others this is such an excellent set up but there are no replies to any of the questions does anyone here know any of these answers that are being asked?
How big is this one? We are thinking of buying the 15'x42"
you should tap into the fountain pipe and run a half inch feed to your slide
how ft is your pool I'm getting a pool but my pool is going to be 12ft and 39.5
The pump sounds very loud! how can people relax in the pool?
yes do go into how you placed the skimmer on tips and so on
รวยมากๆๆๆๆๆๆๆๆๆๆๆๆๆเรยน่ะฝรั่ง
Do you still have this pool??
where did u get the skimmer
What size fittings did you use with the PVC
OK, thank you!
Cool :)
Tell as you made such fontanchik more detailed
I Have the same Question ., some one tell us How to do it?
@jsf0656 TFP Forum i googled it but there were a ton of results
U are going to ruin your pop you have the valves shut off
You did a very nice job, it's a shame you used the wrong fittings. All of your elbow are DWV fittings and they are not made to handle pressure. Hope you've replaced them.
Hi Pete S. You seem to know a lot about this, can you please send a list of what is needed to do this??
Those "ARE" good to 300 constant psi way more than is needed here . minimum burst at this diam is 870 psi . so i ask you why did you post nonsense ? they psi "leak check" schedule 40 at 150 psi with air on new homes do you think that psi is achieved here ! lmao idiot !
