noticed the threaded female coupler. Anyone use thread tape at all? I wanted to test my flex pvc 1.5 with a female end and see if it screws onto the stock intex outlet without leaking. Yes, if I had screw fitting like the black the a 3/6 gasket seals ok due to the thread differences but curious if tape and or pipe dope seal just as well.
Hi Ian.......nice set up man !!!!!! Are you not using Skimmer? Why not? usually when manufacturer pre-cut the output and input holes they put like a reinforcement, I thing to last longer, It did not affect just to cut a hole for another output on the liner? without reinforcement? Good job man !!!!!!
Thanks! I didn't use a skimmer because from what I've seen the water level has to be maintained lower and i did not want to lose those few inches of water level. Would be nice to have a skimmer though. Regarding the larger holes, no issues at all! A year later and still working 100%. I do have my PVC piping setup so there is no stress on the liner as well so, I'm sure that helps.
will there be a problem with kids playing in the pool and the pvc not giving way to the pool swaying back and forth. i think i rather have the fountain not tied to the pool
I dont remember exactly the size but I recommend to start off small. I wish I would of done the holes a little smaller for the streams to go higher. I actually ended up cutting down the fountain pipe and now the streams are much higher! I'm sure they love the free waste water!
I don't sell these. It really isn't complicated. It is a custom job to have PVC piping. Also, there are converters that are sold by intex for the larger hoses. I just decided to go this route for longevity and a "cleaner" install.
Also this one of the best vids I have seen on this too! Very helpful!
Man that's quite an assembly. Good job
Thanks man!
Super clean install thanks for the tip at the end of video that will come in handy I will be one adapter short !
what kind of outlets did you use and where did you get them? and how do you vac your pool? what do you hook your vac hose to?
Where did u get the 1.5 inch discharge fittings that are mounted in side of pool?
The link for the adapter is no longer working anyone know the new part number at Lowe’s

I bought that electrical connector but it had too much of a gap between it and the coupling... today I have a leak.
What type of flex pipe did you use from pump to filter? Is it smooth inside? Schedule 40?
What was the total cost minus the fountain? I like the plunger valves but they seem to choke the system horribly!
Total cost of the pvc or total including pool?
+Ian Nemesis pvc piping and fittings.
+obadiah7771 around 80 bucks
What model sand filter did you go with? I think we have the same size pool and trying to convert from filter cartridge system to sand.
Nice work!! So how was the pressure coming from your outlet to the pool with both of the return lines being 1-1/2 ?
Louis Achins no issues. Actually have a bigger pool now too with long piping. I’ll post a video soon.
