To be fair jaguars are sometimes called tigers. They're quite common referred to as el tigre in South American countries (i think the Potuguese speaking places like Brazil), I believe. Also in the west indies, 'tiger' doesn't necessarily refer to the striped Asian cat. They use the work for spotted species like jaguars and leopards. The Anansi folk tales for example. Not so much by people with American accents though.
Yes i have heard of that, el tigre in South American countries, they commonly refer to jaguars in particular as tigers, and even in mandarin chinese they are also referred to as 美洲虎, aka translate to/transliterate as American tiger.
@@mardroidmk1393Which is not that surprising or strange since jaguars are behaviourally similar to tigers than to lions or leopards even though jaguars are more closely related to lions and leopards. But all the 4 big cats are closely related to each other and form the genus panthera.
It´s weird that jaguars and leopards get called roaring when they just do this weird pig-burp stuff! Leopards have the sawing thing, but jaguars just sound like they´re laughing! Lions and tigers have the big roars!
Clouded leopards are smaller, and have longer tails in comparison to body size. They’re spots are also larger. This is Nindiri, the San Diego Zoo’s female Jaguar 🐆 😊
For that lady to call it a tiger is a bit much! Needs a much larger enclosure with lots of trees and bushes and what is even better is for it to be back in the wild!
This is Nindiri, she was rescued from an illegal black market trade, where she was abused and sold many times over. By the time she was rescued, she was dependent on humans to survive and could not be released. She is now an ambassador for her species to help educate about the Jaguars loss of habitat due to deforestation from logging and humans encroach on jag territory, and how people and animals in South America can coexist. Edit: she has a large outdoor habitat with a river and trees, a cave with glass viewing for guests, and a private indoor area she can go into. It is important for all animals to have an area where they can be away from guests (especially when it comes to mating, to increase population numbers for the species).
Human: "Here Kitty Kitty!!!:
Jaguar: "Oh, shut up..."
What a beautiful animal!!!
King of all south american animals🐆👑
roar of love, he seems to be calling for a mate.
We're more alike than we think; aren't we all?
That Jaguar’s female
She's just moaning to call for mate 😂😂😂
It´s not a roar...it´s weird that it´s called roaring! It´s like pig-burp sounds!
That’s the “don’t mess with me and my family/area/food” growl if I had to guess. Sounds very quick and territorial.
0:18 Even fluctuations can be seen!
Jaguar: Wait what?! I’m not a tiger! I’m a jaguar! 0:09 0:09 0:09 0:09 0:09 0:09 0:09
Popcorn in my throat does that to me
Nice use of the diaphragm there kitty!
I think he was saying throw a human in here, I'm hungry.
It was probably laughing bc i could've sworn one of the ladies called it a tiger

See the case of Br'er Tiger in the Uncle Remus folktales.

Woman: Whoo! What’s happening?! 0:09 0:09 0:09
Poor cat. I feel so sorry for him being cooped up knowing that small enclosure.
He's saying let me go tf back to the jungle
That's a kiddo jaguar

If people would shut their fat mouths we might be able to hear the cat
Is this not a clouded leopard!
Thats a jaguar.

Sounds more like a sick goose than a big cat. Misleading title
All big cats make this sort of noise, even lions and tigers
I dare you guys to mute this video. My head is dirty.
maybe it's constipated.
Poor cat trapped in a zoo for these stupid humans
the habitat is pretty comfy
@@DannyFrey yeah being trapped in a cage and have people constantly look at you would be comfy

@@skyblues23 it is like a big jungle so the jaguar might be used to it

not a roar, more like a cough or something. definitely not a "roar".
