    This video was very helpful. An appliance guy came over and sold us a dream of $455. Declined his services and my husband bought a part from Amazon and only cost $12!!

    Followed the instructions, replaced the sensor, the LE error got resolved and my LG washer started to work. Thanks a lot for an excellent video and help!! The part costed me $10 (on some kind of sale) on amazon.

    Before buying expensive parts, wiggle and check your wiring harness! After purchasing a new drum/rotor I discovered the problem was a burnt red wire in the harness that shorted out. Twenty dollars later I had a brand new harness from LG and life is good again!

      It has a really strong magnetic pole holding an arm.
      I would grab it with both hands and rock it back-and-forth as you pull it towards you.

    Why my LG washing machine ( model: WM3700HVA ) doesn't have the speed sensor on the stator when I removed it.

  • @doityourselfdave
    @doityourselfdave 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks for this info. The noise I'm getting sounded like the teeth of the motor hub slipping. So I stripped mine down and the gears actually do look ok. So I put it back on and made a sharpie mark on the rotor hub and the shaft, to mark their position relative to one another. I then ran the machine again, it made a grind noise again like cogs were slipping, however the marks I put on still aligned. So not sure what's grinding. Drum seems to spin smoothly too. Although I am getting the LE error. Any ideas?

    What causes the sensor to go bad?

  • @carollewis4071

    On another video about LG washer repairs, the guy was replacing the the agitator plate and mentioned that you shouldn't be able to move it by hand once in place, but the one in my top load machine mine spins pretty easily. I'm wondering if it might need replacing if that's the case. I also have the LE error. It's making all kinds of clunky sounds when it tries to spin, so I'm thinking it could be an indication that those plastic splines might be stripped. When I moved the washer to try and look underneath, the bottom bolt and washer were laying on the floor. I screwed them back on in hopes of miraculously fixing it, lol, but I still get the error.

    • @QuickAndEasy5MinuteAppliance

      I would replace the rotor with the splines.

    • @linddelacruz2335
      @linddelacruz2335 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mine does the exact same with the loud noise and when its on the spin cycle it stays on number 7 then eventually the washer will stop and LE error code will appear

  • @OutDoorFun3
    @OutDoorFun3 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I replaced the sensor and still get the LE error. If I run with no cloths and spin off it will run but the drum turns very jerky. The drum turns freely by hand. I think it might be the motor drive board, it gets very hot, I can't find any new or used for my LG WM0532HW, the board is 6870EC9091A. The stator / wiring looks good, no water has leaked.

    I had to replace the bearings in my LG about 6 months ago and during the process I noticed that the stator assembly had some sort of brown material that once was liquid and since dried on a large portion of the assembly covering the plastic area as well as on the copper wires. I unfortunately did a poor job of cleaning it since I didn't what liquid cleaner that I could use to get it clean. After reassembly, the machine was doing its job but yesterday I got the 'LE' error code, so I'm wondering if that code could be because of that foreign material on the assembly or this sensor? If cleaning is an option then what can I use to get it clean?

    Replaced sensor, no stripped splines, still not spinning. Sort of erratically tries to move but doesn't actually spin. After jerking around a little bit it throws the LE error. Washer drum spins freely when the motor is off. Any other thoughts?

    My rotor sounds like it is struggling to start. I took the back panel off and when it hums like it wants to start I give it a push and it starts moving. It will work until it stops or reverses direction . All I have to do is bump it. I took the rotor off, the plastic splines although worn, don’t appear to be slipping, maybe they are? Any thoughts from anybody? Rotor position switch? Almost seems like it is not getting enough electricity to spin the rotor.

    My washer will start and spin normally, then it'll start making a whirring noise while spinning, and that's when the LE error appears. I just don't understand why it would start spinning without any noise/issue at first. I've tested it a few times, and it always operates this way. Any suggestions on what else to look for?

    After taking thing apart on my LG front loader, this seems to be the likely problem. I've replaced the inside part of the rotor, with the splines, to a new one with metal splines.
    But, towards the end of the cycle it makes an awful grinding noise and will turn off with either le or ue codes.
    Can the hall sensor cause ue code when filled with clothes if faulty?
    Or is the grinding noise coming from rotor making contact with the stator?

    Seems like a bad idea to make the centre part of the rotor from plastic and not metal? Planned obsolescence, or just poor design?
