is it possible to have a combination of alpha and beta thalassemia, like 3 alpha genes missing along with 1 beta missing or would that be incompatible with life?

just a minor correction: Hb Barts (Hemoglobin Barts Disease) is actually associated with hydrops fetalis rather than HbH disease as the diagram depicts. the gamma 4 tetramer is what is incompatible with life and so it is associated with having complete deletion of all of the alpha globin alleles.
