Loving these videos, do you use a capture card or do you just use the ps4's share functions? I've made some cool stuff but I want to make sure I can show them off in the best quality possible
I love drawing landscapes and maps on paper and ever since I found dreams it seems unreal to be able to create these things in a 3D space on my console! Your videos inspire me to best myself. Do you have some tips when it comes to natural ground (rising and falling seemlessly). I'm very new to 3D artwork so every help would be a blast! Keep up the amazing work:)
@@fjsjdvsiwehw I'll very soon be uploading a new tutorial on how to start up a level/world this will include landscape sculpting so maybe this will be able to help you and other than that I'm also planning to stream sculpting, feel free to tune in and ask your questions so I can straight away demonstrate stuff :)
Nice tutorial, Sakku. Both methods are really effective, though I would recommend using method 1 for scenes with less interactivity, and method 2 for water you can explore, like you would find in a game. The wax effect creates a nice sheen on the water that suits many scenes, but if you want it to reflect the sky and sun even better, try adding 33% metallic. It will darken the color a bit, but give it a really realistic look (if that's what you are going for). 👍
Thank you for your feedback! I agreee with you I would also use them like that and also thanks for the tip with the metallic style, didn't know that yet! :)
You make the best content for dreams, short, incredibly easy to follow & things that ooze quality and will improve the overall quality in the community! Awesome work man
@@SakkusMind from a few videos I saw of yours I’ve subscribed, you’ve really helped me make my in all honesty very basic platformer levels start to become visually polished and impressive. Thank you for your content and guides! 👌
That second version was just as pretty but almost looked a bit too thin and transparent, but I'm still amazed by the creativity of the method itself. Excellent content here.
I think water is the hardest element to create in Dreams in a realistic way. The methods you showed here are pretty cool! I was just creating a flat large sphere and adding some flow effect and round flecks. It worked good, but I knew you could show me some better ways ;) Always the best, Sakku, support from Italy!
keep up thats awesome. i just started playing this game and you can literally sit 12 hours innfront of your tv, just exploring what else you can do in this 😜
Hey sakku! Thanks for posting informative videos, I was wondering if you're able to make a sculpting tutorial? Some of the questions I have: 1: how do you build a puppet from scratch? What are the differences between the three puppet options that Mm has created? 2: when sculpting something, how do we round out an object, is there a tool for that? I've had a hard time trying to find it if there is a tool. An example would be, if I were to place a square sculpt down and I wanted to round out those sharp edges is there a tool for that? I've tried using looseness, that doesn't do what I want it to do, so if there are other multiple options would you mind explaining? 3: will we be able to decorate our homespace with the things we made eventually? 4: how much stuff can we stuff into one dream/level without overriding it? 5: can you give us tips and tricks on how to paint and sculpt better? Also, are the tools different when using motion control sticks instead of the controller? Is it easier to use motion control sticks? What's the difference? Is it easier to sculpt/ create with them? Thankyou so much in advance, it would be a huge help if you were able to make a video on some of these, if not all. I've asked quite a few people about some of these questions and a lot just do not know. So , I guess I speak for a bit of the community. Thankyou ♥️🙏
Hey Alexis, thank you for your indepth comment! I'll give my best to keep making more and more informative videos, guides & tutorials that are hopefully helpful for you guys! =) 1. Thanks for the idea, I'll add a character creation tutorial on to my list! 2. There's a shape that actually is a cube with round edges already but I'm assuming you would want to see a specfific technique for all kinds of things, well it's not all that easy.. it's basicially all about cutting and most of it is done with softblend, in that way it makes it easier for you to make shapes round and clean! 3. There was a bug for bringing own sculpts into your homespace but I don't know if it's fixed in the full version also I don't exactly know if they have future plans to change the homespace a lot but I can already tell you that with the new art kits it's a dream compared to before haha ^^ 4. It's all about how you optimize your scene, scenes can be huuuge if you do it right but I'll also make a video to that in the future. 5. That's what my tutorials are mostly about! But pleeaase don't even try the stick controls, motion controls might be hard in the beginning but it will be worth it once you got the hang!
The very tough choice of getting Dreams as soon as I can afford it or waiting for the PS5 to come out and getting it then?? 😵😵 Wait actually, maybe they'll do one of those "PS5 comes with [x] game" and Dreams is super popular... so maybe if I get it for ps4 now eventually when Ps5 comes out I can get it in the bundle type thing if they have it 💭💭💭 That's how I got The Last of Us, it came with my PS4. Anyway I'm just rambling and unsure of what to pick I don't even know if I'm going to receive the money I'm supposed to be getting next month 😆😵. But it would be awesome af to get the Ps5 and this game whether for PS4 or 5 or both. (At the time of this comment it's nearly May 2020, the PS5 is said to come out at the end of 2020, likely November or December. ーHopefully there haven't been too major of delays because of the coronavirus. I hope all the devs are safe).
First method does not work for me as I don't have a spraypaint option in tools. Maybe it's because I don't know what "stamp" means so I'm in the wrong place? Got this game today and it's a lot to learn.
Hi, Thank you for this amazing way of doing water. I have tried the second metod, but I just cant get the clean look. My painting gets so grainy when i lower the opacity. I dont have any grain added to the scene.. Do you know what the problem is? Or did they change this in an update? Thanks for all your amazing work!
How in the hell were you able to use paint mode on top of a sculpture in 6:27 ? Whenever I try to do it everything else besides the paint brush turns grey AND i cant use Surface Snap on the sculpture because it doesnt acknowledge its there! HEEEELP PLEASE :(
This is cool to watch but I don’t understand how people are finding it helpful? Are u all experienced devs? I feel like it needs slowed down and commentary. How am I supposed to know wtf is going on hahaha not hate
I think Sakku is expecting a base level of knowledge within Dreams, and then he's giving detailed tips on specific scenarios i.e. how to make water. I've only put in enough time to reach level 15 in dreams and I've learnt enough from the tutorials to keep up with this
Timothy Webb did u go into Dreams blindly or with a history of developing games as a hobby? I haven’t played yet, and I want to get it just to play creations. From watching the tutorials I figure I would never be able to learn through the game itself lol
@@gamecop2191 I went in blind! The tutorials are really great and the whole system has been made to be very intuitive :-) ofcourse I'm still very much a beginner and theres loads I dont understand, especially to do with game logic. But I've picked up sculpting very easily. Have you seen the official Mm tutorials that come with the game? They are brilliant done and very easy to follow. You may have more luck with those if youre interested in creating.
I hope that this episode was able to help you!
Feel free to comment what you are interested in learning next =)

I'm using a PS4 pro's share function since the pro allows you to get the footage in 1080p, while the normal one only allows 720p.

Can you do a mossy stone brik texture tutorial? For like an old pathway or a building

Anyone know how to change the flow of water?
What’s the sound effect at 4:06 called??
It's called "Anime wow sound effect"

How do you paint flecks without it blurring/greying everything else in the scene out ?
You can change the visual feedback in the preferences :)

How did you make that running water?
For that you just make a 3D sculpt in the way you want to have it, give it flow in effects mode and a little wave to it as well!
