I only wonder if I would prefer lighter oils (Flaxseed, Chiaseed, Safflower), would your formula still work?
No, When changing oils in cold process soap, each oil has a different saponification value, which affects how much lye is needed. Running the recipe through a lye calculator ensures accurate lye amounts, preventing lye-heavy or soft soap.
