I use to work security at venues and can’t tell you how many artists won’t carry a pass and when you stop them they get insulted and disrespect you. Very few treat you like this. Class act
Truth. I worked backstage a few times, and a lot of the acts were complete divas. Even some artists I really admired left a bad taste in my mouth.
I will say: Others were way cooler than I could have imagined. Gojira and Alice Cooper come to mind.

@@zedanide6984 I am not sure I agree. She put's her arm out to stop his movement. He is actually talking to her when the touch happens. This would be a re-training moment to remind policies on physical touch, not termination. It's minor but important to bring up for new people. If anyone wanted to physically run past her, she's not going to do much about it anyways. This isn't a bouncer, it's a observe and report role.

Elvis Presley was always kind and humble with his fans and with people in general even decades after his passing there’s not one story of him being rude or refusing an autograph. I’m giving Elvis as an example of how a celebrity should treat his/her fans and if Elvis one of the greatest singers to ever live was kind to people others should too.

As a security guard, sometimes faces all blend together and we can't tell them apart (after a long shift usually) and it's nice that he was so cool about it, because a lot of people aren't. 😅

Randy's politeness is truly legendary. I was at a gig one time where he stopped the show mid-song because a kid by the front was getting squashed at the barriers, he brought the kid up on stage for the restart and completion of the song and finished with the comedy line of "security, I found a miniature stage invader" 😂😂❤

I have to say I’ve found that heavy metal musicians and fans are some of the most genuinely kind people I’ve ever met. I think it might have something to do with them getting all their rage out through music instead of bottling it up like the rest of us 😂

I think Metal genres are just misunderstood… ppl hear the screaming and just turn it off… not even bothering to listen to their messages, or research the actual lyrics. A lot of the lyrics can be VERY positive and uplifting… but usually no chance is given to figure that out.
But, to each their own. We all like music and hate music so, all personal preference for sure.

It's because they get all the anger and aggression out of their system when they're on stage and in the studio!
people who work in touring music are really appreciative of venue security and staff being on it. i worked security for a small upstart venue years ago and i had been assigned to watch one of the entrances to the back stage area. one of the stage managers of the bands came up to me to get in and i wouldn't let him through till i saw his pass and it took him a few minutes to find it because he had his hands full and had his pass on a fob with a bunch of other passes from the bands different tours. he was annoyed and gave me some attitude but right after i finally let him in he came back and apologized for the attitude and thanked me for doing what i was hired to do. it was a cool show. after it was over and all the fans left i helped load trailers and was offered to go hang out with the bands. there are some prima donnas out there but the majority really love venue staff.
Many artists have massive egos that would never have allowed them to be as cool and casual as this guy was..

Yeah sometimes people are so preoccupied with their business and lives they forget to be nice.
Imagine how refreshing it was for him to have a “regular” interaction. The young lady didn’t recognize him, and he had somebody genuinely not know who he was. As somebody of his stature, I really appreciate how he still lifted her up.

I met Randy at a book signing he did with Corey Taylor. In truth, we were there for Corey, but Randy was so down to earth and asked if he could take a picture with us. The guy really is a genuine solid dude. I've been a fan of him ever since that day. Now i forget Corey was there and remember it as the day i met Randy
He is impressed because she is keeping him and his band safe from people that shouldn’t be up there. That’s why he is super cool with her.

I've been there. You're supposed to make sure only people that badges go backstage and sidestage and stuff. But artists never carry theirs. If you don't know the performers what else are you supposed to do. Good for them for doing their job and good for the artist for being a good sport about it.

Sometimes security can be overzealous, and sometimes the performers can be flat out rude. It's nice to see teamwork, coming together for the sake and safety of the show.
Yes! At the end of the day its this kind of basic kindness/understanding that makes life a little more tolerable

I've been on concert security for 15yrs and this is a real great reaction, because she did exactly what she was instructed to do and he did not, so him praising her for doing her job is genius. Love it
Heavy metal guys are usually the kindest dudes in my own experience because they get to let all that anger and frustration out in the mic, good therapy 🤣
My group of friends and I went to see a BLS concert in Portland years ago and this young kid and his dad bumped into Zakk Wylde outside the venue, Zakk was in a rush to get to the show but took the time to sign an autograph and take a pic with them.. you could tell he was ready to get going but this kid was totally star-struck. Not that it's a huge deal or anything, but I thought it was cool that he took the time to visit for a few and be real before him and the band completely SLAYED the night...

He was accused and arrested for manslaughter after supposedly pushing a fan from stage and killing him by accident.
@@busdriver5848 A deranged fan under the pretense of being his grandma snuck backstage and assaulted him before one of his shows. He had a dislocated shoulder, several rib fractures and cracked sternum and the rest of the tour was cancelled.
Randy is a class act. He has my respect for going back to Prague and facing the charges.

@garymichael6899 there's a documentary about it. A fan was killed at a concert when he was crushed against the guardrail. Randy was ultimately arrested and charged with manslaughter. The band sold everything to get him out of jail and home. He chose to go back and stand trial. He eas found not guilty, not even the man's family said it was his fault.
Good man, not cocky, no attitude and he shows gratitude to the common worker.
Crazy how humble and kind he is even after the loss of his daughter.

This guy just made me want to watch their videos on TH-cam. Never have heard them before but have to support these artists that have respect.

Randy and I were friends in college. He has always been a truly awesome guy who's nice to everyone. I could go on and on about our crazy adventures. But anyway, when he and the BTP guys blew up, nothing about that surprised me. Kindness and honesty open doors, and when you combine that with an epic work ethic, this is what you get.
This dude is about to unleash one of the sickest growls and vocals in rock music yet shows the utmost respect for someone doing their job. We need more humans like him.
