barely alive did say there’s a secret collab and virtual riot a few months ago did say “this is what knife party and i have been up to” when he played this track live. that’s why it just seemed inevitable that knife party was on this track
I actually have an answer for this! At the Disciple listening party last night, he said that it was originally supposed to be a collab but he needed to release the album soon, so he asked them if it were okay to finish on his own and to name it Fork Funeral for jokes. They okayed it so that's how the name of the tune was born!
@@SergeantTeabag Ahhhh, this makes sense! i didn’t see this before i made the video so that’d be why! thankyou had to delete a toxic comment telling me it wasn’t a knife party collab too so
The truth is that Get Away and Exile are songs that, despite their normal lyrics, they give much more value and meaning to the album, than other Dubsted songs very sounded today.
The best songs were definitely Rewrite and Exile imo. Rewrite was the revolutionary color bass track I was waiting for and Exile is probably the most well produced track on the album with a cool concept
@@bary_music Exile is so frickin dark I love it. The part where it says "Something that moves like the wind, can't go cause they're out hunting again" or something as it gets deeper and deeper just gave me chills.
@@cathedralsedm Something that moves like the Wind 'As swift as a thought they are hunting again Best line in that entire song i listened to that song about 400times already.. i know it outta my head by this point
My Ranking: 16. Login (intro) 15. Get Away (weird song but well produced) 14. Exile (not a huge fan of midtempo but has a cool atmosphere) 13. Fork Funeral (1st half was rly good but the 2nd half ruined it for me) 12. Logout (outro but an amazing one) 11. Back In Time (idk I don’t really enjoy it that much) 10. So Sorry (good song but also I find it kinda generic) 9. Dreaming (Back In Time but more coherent and less confusing) 8. REDLINE (cool heavy track) 7. Simulation (extremely good song overall, really solid) 6. Rewrite (Simulation but better) 5. Neon Angel (I used to dislike it but it grew on me and now I love it) 4. Touhou Riddim (best heavy track of the album, love the intro as well) 3. This Could Be Us (ofc, it has amazing vocals, amazing drops, it’s well structured, almost a perfect song) 2. Don’t Worry (Was my favorite ID from VR and I’m glad it’s finally out, ngl the 2nd half was slightly weaker but still an amazing and extremely enjoyable track) 1. CHROMA (amazing intro, amazing drops, amazing midsection, amazing everything, best song by far imo)
hey :-) p.s(after watching the video): I couldn't find the album on soundcloud so if this is on spotify then fuq... it's banned from my country :( also rewrite is probably my pic so far also I hoped he puts some hybrid stuff in the album (I think that will spice the Album since everyone is waiting his melodic style so that will be nice to blend it with this style as example his track hysteria but with melodic elements)
My ranking: (it's too hard because all songs are amazing) 16. Login (intro) 15. Logout (outro, btw it's amazing) 14. So Sorry (a bit generic imo, but it's cool. The second drop it's so far the best of the song) 13. Touhou Riddim (same as So Sorry but i like it more) 12. Fork Funeral (The first part is amazing, i need more house songs from VR. Second drop it's not for me, but it's very experimental and i like this) 11. Exile (IMPRESSIVE midtempo, i expected a better second drop, but it still sounds great) 10. Chroma (second drop and mid section are awesomeee) 9. This Could Be Us (awesome. it's the most simple drop, but works well and Josh's vocals are cool) 8. Neon Angel (the fusion of synthwave + psytrance it's so amazing, and the drops are cool) 7. Don't Worry (first and second drop are SO GOOOOD) 6. Rewrite (amazing colour bass, JUST AMAZING) 5. Back In Time (Happy Hardcore? OMG. And sounds like his old melodic songs. 10/10) 4. Get Away (Yes, the vocals could be better, but still an AMAZING SONG. The chorus is so catchy and the sound design on the instrumental is phenomenal) 3. Simulation (amazing first song, love the heavy first drop and the breaks) 2. REDLINE (Best heavy song of the album so far. First drop it's AWESOME, and THE SECOND DROP AAAAAAA) 1. Dreaming (vocals, drops, breaks, EVERYTHING on this track it's PERFECTION)
My ranking: 1. Don't Worry 2. Neon Angel 3. Chroma 4. REDLINE 5. Rewrite 6. This Could Be Us 7. Dreaming 8. Fork Funeral 9. Simulation 10. Back In Time 11. Exile 12. Touhou Riddim 13. Logout 14. So Sorry 15. Get Away 16. Login
My Ranking List (this is just my opinion and your allowed to have your own!) 16. Get Away- Good sound design, but lyrics make no sense to me. 15. Logout- ok quick note. The only reason this track is so low on this list is because it last musical elements. That being said, this track is one of the best outros i've ever heard. VR perfectly painted a story with sound. Honestly as far as outros this wins. 14.Back In Time- Very melodic track that gives the album a good change of pace. 13. Neon Angel- Good track. I guess my main thing with the track is the genre. I just don't listen to this genre that much. Amazing work nonetheless. 12. EXILE- Holy smokes i love this track, but the intro kinda confuses me. Also the flanger and distortion (at least thats what i thin it is) on the vocals make it hard to understand them. 11. Rewrite- Amazing track. I honestly have nothing else to say. 10. Dreaming- Great vocal work and intro reminded me of some emotional Illenium tracks. Perfection. 9. Login- again this paints story with sound and is the most seamless intro since Throttle-Away in my opinion. 8. So Sorry- Gave me pray for riddim nostalgia and hits like a freight train. 7. Tohou Riddim- Sounds a lot like Pray For Riddim as far as the first drop. LOVE IT 6. Fork Funeral- Literally had me get out of my chair and start headbanging. No track to date has ever had me do that. Gold Star. 5. REDLINE- If i had to show someone who VR was, this is the track i would show them. 4. CHROMA- Gave me that melodic feel good vibe. Sound design for this insane. TOP 3 AKA THE BEST OF THE ALBUM 3. Don't Worry- The vocals and chords let this one explain itself 2. Simulation- Really makes you believe that you entered a virtual world. I can see this being a new live set starter. 1. This Could Be Us- The vocals have the most significance in my opinion and has possibly the best sound design of the album. VR, Modestep, and FRANK ZUMMO did a phenomenal job of combining emotional lyrics and heavy bass to make in my opinion the best track of 2021 so far. In the end though, THIS IS THE BEST ALUBM I'VE HEARD TO DATE. Val has done it again.

I'm kinda surprised that fork funeral is your top 1 haha, for me that song shows how you don't need to try hard to make something hit hard, and hilarious at the end as well. He's just messing around with some knobs I bet, and I love it. Now I'm going to get my mind blown listening to this album over and over again.
Fork Funeral wasn't really a Knife Party collab (it was supposed to be a collab but VR made the whole song himself), but it's still amazing.
swear he said it was at a live show.

You should rank his first album, There Goes Your Money, which in fact was one of Disciple's first releases!

Bit biased how all the most lowest tracks are experimental or sound design tracks. The original track should be up there.
