From listening to VR all these years, I can honestly say and remember 2016 being the turning point in regards to his mixdowns. He had a more “pop” mix especially when his Emotional remix released and his remix with Kill The Noise. I remember that very vividly. He constantly implements new techniques and you can tell from hearing the before and now. Before it was more of a thicker, slightly muddier mix but throughout time, mixes were all overly bass and low mid heavy. Then slowly he had more of that polished tight bass and low mid control. That may have sounded like a bunch of jibberish to most but, in short, you can clearly tell he has referenced, analyzed and studied other artists with that “mainstream/pop” mixdown. And over time, he has achieved that polished Skrillex-style mixdown and took it even further.

I believe it's mostly because now he plays a lot more shows and so he have to constantly prepare new "banger"' for them. Luckily he said that a lot of new melodic tracks are coming this year
@LowLinK sure he makes a lot of heavy stuff, but his heavy stuff is far from generic. Sure it's in a similar style to other artists, but no one compares to Valentin's sound design.
