Actually does have a body kit on it, but its the factory optioned "Sport Kit" Super hard to find a clean R with the Sport Kit

My buddy has a manual R making around 400 wheel and it truly is a force to be reckoned with. He’s outrunning pretty much everyone that isn’t driving a Camaro or mustang around town.

I've owned two S60Rs and they're fantastic cars, you can just never be ready for the speed and power of even a stock one, out of a volvo lol.

Ah. Yeah the turbos are great. I will say the smaller 2.4 engines are actually stronger. The R engines are the weakest in physical metal strength.

+Sean Cloughley i was under the impression they where weaker than the 2.3 because of the cylinder wall thickness.
+rebelmaderighteous the block is weaker which is why everyone suggests the 2.3s if you're going to be doing mods and going for more horsepower.

When i bought my S60 I thought it was broken somehow. Seller thought so too. Turns out they come with that amount of camber, especially if you lower them a bit.

I have an s80 t6 twin turbo. Working on it, always wanted an R but out of my reach haha... My s80 is pretty fast tho.. 268 stock atm.

You should have gotten a Custom Remus ... You might want to talk to SpeedFactory in Tacoma WA to see if you can have custom made pistons made. They make custom pistons, usually honda/acura stuff, but give them a call. I would reconmend replacing the Enkei's, they are heavy wheels, get some Old school 90's 18's or 19's multipeice ... save you a few pounds.
I swear one day I'll convert my T2.5 s60 into an R model.

I'm driving a 2006 S60R, what do U guys think about tranny flush? I'm about to hit 100k miles on it and its something I'm strongly considering but I haven't done it yet. Btw. nice upgrades, meth/water injection is on my to do list as well as full 3'' exhaust (partial now) but prob wouldn't stretch it to 23lb with my turbo :-P

Little late but on the fourms if you do some talking you'll run into a tuner who specializes in tuning volvos and will help ya out. I haven't been on there for a while but you can try!

People kind of look at volvos and just see, well nothing really. Theyre touted for being reliable and safe and not much else. But then you see cars like this, they still dont look like much but knock your socks off. I sort of think the unassuming style works for them, they dont look bad by any means, i love the look of most volvos but i love that even for their sport models they stick to a simple and classy design

nice video, just unleashed my 2006 S60R on the high ways and now its leaking a lot of oil...
does yours leak oil when you go hard? the other night, I was driving pretty hard. I did a real fast pull, and then my low engine oil light came on... hasn't been a problem since, but still kind of worried.
well it got serviced shortly after and the oil was changed so it never really caused any problems. it has not been on a high way trip like that since then and it needs work done on the suspension so i have been keeping it on comfort chassis setting and also out of sport mode (S button by the gear shift) Considering those settings will hold the car back a little bit, even after pushing it hard I haven't seen anymore oil outside the car. with all the setting in full track mode that could be very different, so if you're worried you could stick to lower performance setting for a while or try making sure all the caps that go on anything holding liquid are sealed tight. I remember one time when the Check Engine light came on i tightened the oil cap down and the light went off, could have been coincidence but it's worth a shot to make sure everything is tight.
I thought people told me over and over that Volvos are super reliable...
My problem was just the cap! I have a manual so I don't have the sport option. I find it just leaks a small amount when above 6,000 rpm. My cars been problem free since I changed that gasket. I'd say they are reliable, but they are a nightmare for people with a lack of car knowledge. You can cause issues by not watching things like the oil, or letting the car warm up before taking off, etc...
People ask me all the time 'What is it like to fly in a 30 000 kilowatt Boeing?!' I always answer : 'I doze off because of thinking of guys like you asking questions like that!'.

Need some advice I have been watching Volvo's on TH-cam for probably about the last month and in rather intrigued. Was planning on leaving it at that, however I just came across a 2001 S60 T5 with a 160K listed for $2600 and I'm fairly confident I could pick it up for $2000. Guys states it's his wife's daily driver, but that it needs a few things. So my questions are does it sound like a decent deal? What is the cost of ownership as in are these reliable or are they prone to minor issues that add up? And final question car would probably become my daily as I have a 2011 STI that I would prefer to not drive everyday, and given that I have an STI already am I gonna be surprised or disappointed in this cars ability's after a few modifications? Personally I think I will be let down by the T5 model in the 1st place given that it's not all wheel drive, but this seems like a good deal to me.

Too bad turning radius is almost 42 feet :( The older v70 station wagon is 37! Dream car other than that, great on gas, and incredibly cheap nowadays (can be found for $5k in good condition).

Who is this guy's tuner in Connecticut? I have an 05 S60 T5 AWD Auto that I would love to have him play with. I am an hour from the northern border of CT and would have no problem making the trip down to the tuner to have him mildly tune my stock S60.. I don't need 450 hp but a nice 300-340 would be fine. If anyone else knows of anyone who knows how to tune these cars without charging an arm and a leg and are within an afternoons drive of southern Vermont, let me know! Thanks fellow Volvo enthusiasts!

I drive s40 volvo sport lux 216bhp, I will put fucking sports brakes sports everywhere.. Because with car that heavy and that fast you need fucking mint brakes... Especially in UK.. 2nd gear pedal to the metal to 5.5k RPM then clutch the 3rd and pedal to the metal... You do get excited :D
