Can confirm that the S60R and V70R are underrated from factory. Claimed 296hp/296tq crank but a lot of people have seen them put down over 280hp and even upwards of 360 tq to the wheels. There's also merit to these numbers as a bit of testing has been done after taking electronic speed limiter of 155mph off and a crazy german got a completely stock V70R up to 174mph on the autobahn.
Do you think the 2005+ s60 t5 can also be underrated? Cause I bought a 06 s60 t5 6speed manual and it feel like more than 260bhp seriously
@@GoodGains90 Likely not, the R variants were underrated from the factory for insurance reasons. They're about as expensive to insure as a bicycle with an airbag and a bubble-wrap suit.
@@JK-tu1xx thanks. But I've just watch a lot of stock s60r dyno after you said that, and they always put out around 225-235whp.... around 250-260whp with stage 1 and around 290 with stage 2... on dynojets. They're really not 280whp stock
@@GoodGains90 Okay bud. Believe whatever you want to believer, "stage 1" and "stage 2" don't exist for these cars, they're not a Subaru. A downpipe, catless exhaust, intercooler upgrade, and a tune and they put down 330-350 wheel which is about the most the bottom end can handle. They also don't have a 1:1 gear so whatever gear they dyno in has to be ratio'd for the power they make.
@@JK-tu1xx well I cant find one dyno sheet on the internet that shows a stock s60r dyno around 280whp.. they are all around 225-235 so... I think im gonna believe that instead of ONE guy who says the opposite

@@xanaaqa417 you must be new. Gavin has a habit of saying "itll be my daily" and then it ends up to opposite of a daily. Both the truck was supposed to be kept stock. It's not at all stock. The miata was supposed to be a daily, the thing hardly runs at this point. Wouldn't surprise me one but if he threw a massive turbo on it.

I got a s80 that came with vw-d5252t engine, stock, automatic and modding it (a litte) is very tempting indeed🤔
What Gavin doesn't know is that when the S60R was released, it was called "The Rich mans Evo". It has virtually the same 5cyl engine as in the Ford Focus RS and over here in Sweden, where the Volvo S60R comes from, not Belgium.. We have some seriously fast S60's.. 4-500hp S60's are more common than anything else here. Take care!
The crazy part is that the S60R's factory intercooler heat soaks after one pull. Imagine what that race would have looked like with a decent intercooler.

Ya what’s funny is I think Volvo’s make the best sleeper cars cuz no one ever suspects or expects the Volvo.. I have an XC70 3.2L that I don’t only software tuning for engine to that pulls around 320 HP now and it’s genuinely kinda awesome.. I fitted a wheel with paddles on it and replaced the shifter with a newer model shifter from an 2014 S60 R design and wired paddles into it and it just hauls ass! its soo good for pulling people.
I also have an XC70 with T6 engine and polestar tuned that for over 400HP and it really goes its my daily driver.. love my wagons
Volvo S60R's are usually cheap from what I've seen because they are beaten on and poorly maintained, they just aren't as reliable as a 2.4L N/A S60. It's sad because i see so many Volvo's that are poorly maintained, they will still last a long time but they could have lasted so much longer

4.6 are slow as hell
You can get a regular S60 T5 for dirt cheap, and do some mods to it. You can easily gain horsepower on those 2.5’s. Even with automatics, they’re fast. I have a stock 08 S60 T5, and it pulls hard. May not be fast for high speed, but the amount of torque it has is amazing. Every time the light turns green, I leave traffic behind 😂
Yeah totally, I have a Volvo V50 T5 2.5L fwd and it now has 280 hp with 400 tq. The tq ratio is really stunning in these 5 cyl 2.5's just in small upgrades your volvo can really pull these beemers with ease
Spinning ain’t winning t5’s are cool but not having traction issues in a R is where it’s at. You can’t really push more then what a stock R can do without just lighting up one tire

Really wish I had a V70R, but they are really rare to find in Sweden, and the ones for sale are often priced around $10k.. Ill stick to my 05 V70 for now, gonna get a chiptune on it next week so will up it from 140hp to 188hp, atleast a bit more xD

Next daily needs to be a Taurus SHO or a Flex 3.5L TT Ecoboost. Those things RIP. A $600 Livernois Stage 4 tune and a 3 Bar MAP Sensor and they will run 12.7 at 110 in the quarter

Nordkap was the basic color along with Gobi. Atacama is the rare one. Like our Magic blue/Atacama V70R :) which now has 400hp. Just saying...

Love my Volvo. It doesnt cost much or hard work to make it fast. With a bigger turbo, intercooler, down pipe, and tune. I'm pushing near 360hp n torque now. I couldnt afford to do alot to it when I lived Florida. Now I live in WV. it's easy to buy toys for the best car I've ever owned.

5 cylinder cars have amazing potential. Even doing small mods would make them fast dailies
since they are turbo from factory, throwing on a better one isnt hard, and with some supporting mods they can easily go over 400 at the wheel. probably would want to beef up the bottom end if you want to go much higher than that though

I think Volvos are the complete package.. bulletproof T5 as long as you keep oil fresh and engine maintained it will look after you.. good bit of kit they are.. I think they look good I own a v50 ex police car T5 300bhp I love it and the sound is mint!

I drove an 04 V70 T5M for 12 years, in the end it was putting down a little over 350ft/lbs and straight straight piped, thing turned heads and was a blast to drive, I miss that car every day.

For sure that 3v is low on power. In the tornado video you can hear a big ass exhaust leak from under the hood 😂
A spark plug has backed out and was letting compression out. We fixed it and that’s why I wanted to race , then after a couple of runs it started a dead misfire on a different cylinder. When the car runs good like it’s supposed to , I usually put a half of a car to a full car length on Harry’s EcoBoost.
Austin Barrett ahh that makes sense. I believe it. My 2v use to beat ecoboosts all day. But then again it use to beat 3v too lol. Put a 120 shot on it. You won't regret it 😂

I had a stock 2002 330ci and the 4.6 couldn't do anything with it. Nice to see some normal cars to though.

I love Volvo’s. There so unpretentious and jus georgous. They don’t feel like any other car, there jus wonderful. And the new ones are super affordable too for what they are. They’re so well engineered. Impeccable build quality too

But don't sleep on the power of a Turbo engine Volvo. I have an automatic C30 and that I just got a week ago and on the highway I was flying up to 80mph within seconds. Had to crank it back because their were so many troopers out.
This video makes me feel even better with my 2016 v6 mustang. But I’ve walked 2018 10speed eco boost already. Still feels good knowing I can beat more
