@@ayaankhanna1722 Thanks! And you know what, I will probably publish the original files for it soon and maybe do a similar project for youtube. I was thinking about building an air powered mortar to launch such can-drones.
I love tricopters, the way they fly is far more natural to me. But its a personal thing I guess. We used to use three gyros, no controller at all. Lovely tidy build, well done.
Thanks! I am not really a drone pilot but I used to fly some quadcopters back in the day and I really like the Yaw responsiveness and fluidity the tricopter configuration gives you. I think this build would greatly benefit from more precise digital servo and better PID tuning tho. Might revisit the tricopter build in the future with bigger frame and 10 inch props.
Nice video, I love the way a tricopter looks and flies. Mine is like David's original design and I'm installing a new flight controller soon. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Nik! Although I wouldn’t consider Ardupilot to be obsolete, I think it rather has a steep entry learning curve and that's what might discourage new users. But it is a really powerful software and I will happily continue to use it for all my flying projects
I don't consider it obsolete (neither the hardware which is still in use by me nor the software)@@BasementCreationsChannel Btw: Is other software really that more user-friendly ?
Yeah, I personally started with Betaflight and INAV and I think their interface is much more user friendly and easier to work with than Ardupilot Mission Planner app. Flight controllers sometimes even came with Betaflight pre-flashed so you didn't have to flash them yourself. But as I said Ardupilot has many more cool features so its worse UI can be considered a reasonable tradeoff
Hi friend, greetings, what a good video, I need help, I made a drone with 4 propellers, I used the cc3d flight controller, I used the openpilot program, I can't get it to fly, my lipo battery swelled from charging it so much, thank you.
There is a drone configuration called Y4 which is just a tricopter with an additional coaxial motor at the back instead of servo. I am not sure tho if it has any benefits of the tricopter and if it is any better than a standard quadcopter. Might test it anyway in the future
The radio itself isn't that bad after I modified it with OpenTX and ExpressLRS module, although I wish I had a better FPV system, something like DJI FPV Goggles would be totally awesome. But yeah that stuff is expensive, so thanks for the idea
Which Ardupilot vehicle type would you like me to cover next? Give me a hint in the comments!
You should show us how you created the hand launch cansat. Seems really cool. U are a brilliant creator and engineer

@BasementCreationsChannel absolutely GOAT man. Thank you man

This is absolutely amazing. WELL DONE
Safety net and everything, man im ready to build my autonomous drone, all my kwads are betaflight. Nice video.
Tricopters are cool and weird and thats why i love them.

Thank you very much for doing videos on software some people consider obsolete.
Cheers (from Germany)

Cool projects bro 👍
nice video brother
Nice DIY💯 ^^ boat or submarine with cam
Found you on Thingi with your RGB lamp
Try adding object recognition to the drone with streaming video.
Wow, I havn't seen a tricopter build in ages! Props to David Windestal for his pioneering work on the first Tricopters www.youtube.com/@DavidWindestal
Yeah, his tricopter builds were really exceptional

What about coaxial third axis?

Where are you from? Very nice tricopter, I'm just starting to think about building aircraft.
your fusion360 skills are incredible, how i can learn fusion
Thanks!
I learned Fusion by simply watching TH-cam tutorials, I sure you can learn it too that way
Rất mong bạn chia sẻ cách làm
David Windestål smiles.
Please share the 3d files so that we can print ..please please please
a langrange quad- or tricopter with a dropping mission.... (no, not a bomb but a package delivery) ?
Thật tuyệt vời mình mơ ươc một con mà ko biết làm
Arm switch should be set to the corners of both sticks, not to a switch. Set it up like that is more like an selfdestruction switch.
Nobody does it like that anymore, quad racers use a switch as you may disarm the craft with excessive stick movement
I put the arm/disarm on a slider on the side of the radio... no more mishaps and it does the job
tricopter back motor using servor like plane aleron more easy...tilt motor is hard fir servo... need powerfull servo
You sound like Polak 😅
Btw. Where can I found you around polish Internet: wykop, hejto, discord, Facebook, etc.
bro u gotta start patreon ure doing awesome shit with the worst equipment flysky radio DIY goggles dam
