Penn Jillette says that he was not prepared for how much happier he feels now that he has lost weight. But some people find the opposite, that weight loss does not make them as happy as they expected, in the end. What is your experience with this?
As a 5+ year vegan I was so touched by your answer on veganism and the respect you have for the lifestyle. You are probably doing more for the animals than a lot of vegans by showing plant-based living in such a healthy positive light. Thank you so much for the work you are doing for humans and animals!!💜🌱
The two of you are SO cool! You make the plant based lifestyle so much fun and "palatable" :-) You don't preach and you don't take yourselves too seriously. Great senses of humor. Thanks so much for your vlogs!
The fact that you are humble makes you both relevant. You don't pretend to be perfect and are therefore very easy to watch. ♡love your humor and interactions with each other.
I think one of the things I like best about your channel is not just the amazing weight loss, but that you both really enjoy doing this together. My husband has not joined me willingly, he has complied more and more as he has had health benefits, mainly because he had cancer and we want to prevent a re-occurrence. It is really nice to watch people who can be happy and make whatever they are doing "fun". Yes, he has found that he feels better and I am feeling amazing now, loads of energy. Really has stopped my depression which has been going on since childhood. I am 66 so that is very major. I have to say, I tried your mashed potatoes, Brian, and even my husband was amazed that he could eat them as they came out of the pot and was shocked he was not putting his soft margarine on them. I think if my husband would get into your channel, he'd really see that he could enjoy be able to see that what we are doing, is not just us, that this is growing in popularity as people see not only the weight loss and major health benefits, but that it is helping us to enjoy the life we have. I have done a lot of ecology things in my life and loving animals just seems right, that how can you want to eat your friend? Nah... not me. I just love every animal I meet.
I love your "how we met" story. You seemed to be really in sync with other. Love that you have been together for the many years. Love your energy and great content. May God continue to bless your endeavors.
I also met my husband on AOL. He messaged me in late December of 2000 and then I lost my internet for a month. When I came back in February, I was surprised to discover that he was still around and interested. We met in person in May of 2001 after spending a few months emailing and talking on the phone, he moved in with me in June, and we were married on Halloween. This October, we'll have been married for 18 years! Congrats on your 22 years @SuZanna Anna! And congrats to Brian and Jessica for your long life together!
ha ha ha that is so cool...i met my husband on aol 19 yrs ago....it was the only platform online.....but dang, I couldn't stand him., I thought he was crazy and he thought i was prissy....lmao thinking about it.....met for coffee, he would only answer my questions with disney characters voices so i really never knew what his real voice was like, what a jerk i thought....couldn't wait to get out of that date....3 weeks later, he called me again, i didn't recognize his voice...agreed to one more chance and after our date he kissed me and that moment i knew i was going to marry him......and here goes 19 yrs and im crazy in love with him still.
Yes please to a podcast! I think being "boring people" adds to the appeal of your channel! Normal people with normal jobs/lives getting healthy and sharing ideas is way more relatable than professional social media personalities! Also, another vote for the Peef story!
For some weird reason, I'm really interested to know how's Brian's health after visiting the doctor (Hopefully everything will be amazingly great!). You both look fantastic, but most importantly: healthy and happy. I'm rooting for you guys!
Aw... Back when we could get messages from people on MySpace and actually make friends.... Cute story! Thanks for sharing some stuff about you with us!
Cool beans! People forget: you don't need to jump on exercise, even though it's ideal. Just changing the diet is an immediate turnkey move in the right direction for the body. Also, Jessica's SFX are awesome. ;)
Aside from the weight loss, what health based improvements have you experienced? (Sleeping better, more energy, better blood pressure, etc.) So proud of you both!
When you squeaked Peef my greyhound came running from the other room looking for him!!!! Thanks for your inspiration guys, loving what you do and all the work you put into these video's to help us all on our plant based journeys.
Ah, at last! The mysterious Real Life of Krocks! I especially appreciate Brian’s attitude toward exercise- I was raised to avoid anything involving sport or perspiration. I’ve had to learn to be a gym rat, and I repeatedly forget. (Love to swim, though.) Keep up the great inspiration. These vids are changing how I eat. First success: absolutely sugar-free 3 weeks now. I feel better. Questions? Tell us about your dogs, how you got them, is one Brian’s and one Jessica’s?
Oh yes; this comment right here is EXACTLY RIGHT. Hate sports, hate exercise, LOVE SWIMMING. Seriously. Would you live in water 100% of the time too, Patrise? I would. Don't even know why I love it so much... :}
Jessica, I know what you mean about loving a plant based diet and staying on it for life. I started eating this way almost three years ago and have never enjoyed food as much as I do now. I never get bored with it cause there’s lots to choose from. Great video, you two are fun and inspiring!
Krocks In The Kitchen I had a lot of food sensitivity when I ate a standard diet, and had frequent migraines from various food triggers. Ironically, I felt much more restricted than I do now and haven’t had a migraine since I switched over. I’ll never go back, and I have a ton of recipes I want to try also. Are you familiar with an app called Copy Me That? Basically, it saves recipes from blogs and such without all the noise and ads around it. Just saves the ingredients and instructions in an easy to read format.
I enjoy watching the both of you whether cooking or talking - very entertaining and really down to earth people. My husband is also a drummer and Brian, that is a full body workout so you do get exercise! Would love to hear the podcast as well as the story of Peef... and see more of your recipes. Keep up the great videos and thank you for sharing your stories..
We all really appreciate your videos and the time you invest in creating them.... Thank you both!! If you can make a "what I eat in a day" video, I personally would be very appreciative but I may not be the only one. Thank you both for being inspirational people in a better way of eating for health and a longer life.
You guys are so many things! For one, seriously awesome. You have jobs that really seem like they feed your passions, and as someone who is in the corporate machine that sounds like the absolute dream. Then, your passion for plant based food and overall health is truly inspiring. I love your approach to food prep, so many spices and dynamic flavor, you are the best ambassadors for this kind of lifestyle. Also, you're not only individually authentic but your chemistry is wonderful. Thank you so much for the time and effort you put into making this content, it makes my day whenever you put out a new video! P.S. Brian.... you should do the podcast..!!
plain and simple.....you two are just such nice human beings! A podcast would be wonderful! Also, would love to hear how your health has changed.....did either of you have joint pain? High cholesterol, etc?
Met my husband a decade ago, in the most random, unexpected way... I literally never go out, and went out one Wednesday evening, to wish a friend Happy Birthday, (after she'd pestered me to come see her - I hate bars, personal preference thing, Idint mind drinking, but hate people getting too touchy feely, or belligerent...). Anyways, my husband hasn't drank since 1991, but happened to stop into that bar, to say a "Hi/Goodbye" to his friend, as (my husband), was on his way out of town, to move to Los Angeles. We met, because our friends were friends, ended up talking for hours that night... that turned into days, and we started dating! The rest is history ♡ 7 years married as of 12-21 ♡ Almost 40 yr old, he just turned 51, and we have an amazing child together :)
i've suffered from obesity for the past 4 years and from seborrheic dermatitis for over 20... I've decided it's time. My 2-week potato cleanse starts tomorrow morning, I've already baked a crapload of potatoes in preparation. I've read Dr. Fuhrman's book multiple times, so I know exactly what to do two weeks from now. Thank you both for being such an inspiring, down-to-earth, amazing couple. Also, crazy jealous of both your jobs 🤣
You two are super great, not boring at all! Very nice to get to know you two a bit more!! So cool Brian is into drumming, and Jessica, you have a super fun sounding job, holy smokes! Can't wait for more Q&A's. Ya'll are my kinda people, great vibes all around :D
You guys are just adorable! So glad Jessica sent that My Space comment for all of this to happen! I love your honesty and compassion to help others! I am so thankful to you both, love your videos and feel like you are my support team! 😊 Keep up the excellent work and can't wait to see what's in the future for you guys! Would love to see a Peef video as well!
The way you guys met is actually very similar to how my wife and I met... She sent me a message over a dating site. I ignored it and a month later I finally replied. But what I didn't know is that at the time the site had closed and been sold/switched to another service. She still got the reply. We met up at an Applebee's. Great memories. ;) Thanks for sharing!
I am a Krockian! I love you both, so charming. Hey both Q&A are super. I watch every show and also became a Nutritarian because of your show. Thx and keep up you wonderful videos. Love and hugs xoxo
You guys are great, def not boring ;) also....you're super motivating. Also....your smokey hummus is amazing. Also, i ate the double batch of it. Myself. In a week. #noregrets.
You two are so darling together. I plan on being on my plant based diet for the rest of my life too. My Doctor's are happy with my 30 lb. weight loss since July. I feel much lighter and my digestion is alot better. I bought a recumbent bike at my local thrift shop and put it in front of my TV in my living room. I also do a little yoga and stretching at home. I do some light free weights too. I have found that swimming at my local rec center has helped me drop the weight quicker. I also started doing a half hour on the elliptical machine and about 45 minutes of the weight machines. I have plateaued at the same weight for 3 months now. I have decided to back off such intense excersise every day and to go off the keto vegan diet because it quit working. I am still plant based. I am 50 now and it is extremely difficult for me to lose weight. I have worked so hard. I have 30 more lbs. to go. and I am up 2 lbs. this week. Yes I weigh myself every day. Any tips on foods or certain recipes that can help someone get passed that plateau and start losing weight again?
I love watching your videos. You are both so relatable and real. So refreshing! Thanks you guys, you make this all feel more doable over time. 4 months in, down 17 pounds, about 80 or so to go. You guys are my Rob Thomas. You keep me believing that I can do this long term!
I see so many bloggers who say "We needed to loose weight, so we went keto." (head slap). I think most of those "keto people" know somewhere deep inside that WFPB is better, but think they cant do it. I think "Krocks in the Kitchen" if perfect for all those people, to show how easy and delicious WFPB can be. Thank you for your videos.
You two are like the cool friends that come over. Boaring...nope. I'm sitting at work trying to fix the only and greatly needed broken fly swatter. Plus you two are a great couple and inspiration.
It's interesting that you say eating plant based diet has positive side effects such as benefits to the environment & animals ... when in fact doing right by our animal family has positive consequences which are better human health, a better environment and a future. I'm writing a book titled Cognitive Dissonance and Altered Humanity and this is raised in several chapters.
We are always learning new things... this journey has taught us a lot, but we have so much more to learn. Would definitely love to read your book when it is out. Thanks for sharing.
Yes, like when people say they love animals so much, coo at baby animal videos and then IG a picture of themselves eating a burger with cheese and bacon 🤦♀️
Love the t-shirts! Huge Matchbox Twenty fan. As an Ender's Game nerd, I was also happy to see Brian's t-shirt. The enemy's gate is definitely DOWN! Cheers guys. Thanks for the Q&A! Oh and a definite YES to Brian's podcast!
Thanks for the video guys! I would listen to a podcast, loved the one you were on earlier this week. Thanks for the motivation to keep on this plant based thing. Also that shirt is great Brian, one of my favorite books of all time.
@@KrocksInTheKitchen yeah it was the first sci-fi book I ever read my dad gave it to me and I read it so many times it fell apart. My wife got me another copy like 10 years ago she won it on goodreads.
For a while there, Orson Scott Card was my favorite author. He is still up there on the list but Brandon Sanderson is now my favorite author. I only found out about him because of Orson Scott Card though. lol
@@KrocksInTheKitchen I'll have to check that author out always looking for good audiobooks to listen to on my commute. I'm an RA Salvatore guy myself, I have read pretty much every book he has written.
Thanks for stepping out there and sharing your weight loss journey also. I also have always struggled with my weight, I got to my goal weight twice and gained it all back again. Once when I was 17 (with McDougall) and once in my early 30's (with Weight Watchers). l'm now 41 and have been on a weight loss plan similar to Weight Watchers for 9 months and have been making slow progress. My husband (39) has high blood pressure and is on medication, which has brought down his levels, but I know diet would help. We've been talking about it and your videos have helped. We're not going to go fully plant based to start but are going to slowly get into it. Thanks for the inspiration!!!
I have a long-ish commute and like to binge podcasts on my drive... so YES podcast, please. You two are awfully cute/awesome together. I'm so glad I found your channel! Also, Brian, kudos on the shirt again. I'm assuming the literary reference, of course.
Loved hearing how much Brian loves his job! You two are so much fun to watch. We live about an hour south of St Louis and it is fun to watch you guys out and about. What is your favorite vegan restaurant in St Louis?
I want to you how much I appreciated your honesty both about not being 100% perfect and not considering yourself Ethical vegans because it's something to respect and admire. I am just like you. Someone trying to do her best. I wish I could be ethical vegan but I still buy my dog regular food, I don't check my makeup to be vegan and I like honey and also don't plan on getting rid of my leather shoes or belts. You feel so accessible, kind and honest. Love your channel.
I love that you guys go to so many concerts. I’m thrilled Brian is able to use his natural vocal talents in a professional capacity and Jessica is a natural promoter.....but ....Peef..... how about a little semi-retirement for Peef? I so enjoy your videos and the two of you!
MySpace? You youngsters you! My hubs (a musician too) and I met on AOL aka America On Hold back in the days of dial up modems. 😳😂 The record store photo brought back great memories. Vinyl still rules imho. Fleetwood Mac! Our friend is touring with them playing keyboards. He just left for the Australia/NZ leg of the tour last week. And yeah, I’m with Brian. The Joshua Tree is still U2’s best. PS- started my Mary’s Mini this week. Really hoping my Cuisinart Griddler shows up tomorrow as I am dying to make some hash browns as you guys have already made me a convert in the mustard on potatoes department.
You are such a sweet couple! I am inspired by your videos to work toward a more plant-based diet. I love veggies, so that part is easy for me, but I haven't eliminated all the "bad stuff" yet (i.e. sweets, meat products). I am eating a salad each night for supper. Thanks for sharing your knowledge -- I am in my 60's, still teaching, and needing to improve my health and stamina at this stage of my life. God bless!
Love you two, you guys always make this old lady smile 😎 I have been WFPB since 3/1/2019 like you lovin’ it , never to return to the SAD way of eating. Plant Strong forever 🌱✌🏼
2 things in common! Brian and I share a birthday. Brian is the same age as my son. Would love a Brian podcast and definitely want to know how Rob Thomas got Jessica to watch Star Wars! 😳 Enjoy all your videos! Keep em coming!
Stumbled upon your videos in late June, and your posts were so interesting it got me studying. Started potato diet, held out for 11 days, lost 6 milos (13.2 lbs) then the cravings for salads was just too overpowering, so moved onto large mixed salads with no oil, just white wine or apple cider vinegar. Paid close attention to the carbs (beans, quinoa, chickpeas), fresh veges and lettuces, and after a week, back on the scales ... 3 kilos had found their way back on. Did this happen to you ? I've kept on anyway because I just hunger for veges and meats just don't satisfy me , and don't even have any urges to eat some. Weight stable, but sometimes I have these cravings for something undefinable : don't want anything sweet, don't want meat, just can't put my finger on what I want. Does this happen to you and if so how do you deal with it? Started in 2017 at 327.8 lbs, gastric bypasse, lost 101 lbs before stagnation. Am actually at 239.8 lbs. Any encouragements? Thanks for your videos§
Been watching all your videos since finding you a week ago. You guys are so inspirational! Thanks for all your time and effort! It’s truly appreciated! :-) This video actually answered many of my questions. Would you ever consider making a cookbook? That would be a must have for my kitchen. ;-) #question
I’m so obsessed with you guys - you seem so down to earth and to genuinely just be enjoying this journey and your discovery of a whole food plant based diet! Cant wait for the Peef video 😂 long time coming!! ❤️❤️

I am 74 and starting my plant based diet. It is never too late. Many heartfelt thanks for the motivation. I am really appreciating the recipes.
Guys, you are so cool. You are such an inspiration. Love your videos. And Brian, do the broadcast!!!!!!
Love to hear Brian’s podcast!!
You two are like the cool friends that come over. Boaring...nope. I'm sitting at work trying to fix the only and greatly needed broken fly swatter. Plus you two are a great couple and inspiration.
I’m considering going plant-based and I found your channel while looking up information on the subject. I’ve been watching since. I love your channel!
Your videos always make me smile! Can’t wait to learn more about Peef. And I would definitely listen to Brian’s WFPB podcast.
Excellent! I am vegan and feel that by avoiding cruelty to animals, there are massive health benefits to me and the environment!
Yes, like when people say they love animals so much, coo at baby animal videos and then IG a picture of themselves eating a burger with cheese and bacon 🤦♀️
PODCAST please!!!!!!!!! you two are my new favorite TH-cam channel!!!
The animals don’t care if you are ethical vegans or not!!! They are super happy you don’t eat them ❤️❤️ Love you both so much!!!!
You both seem so chill and down to earth! #question Do you all ever argue about video content/production/editing etc? So glad to have found you on YT!
Can you two get any cuter ❤️ sweetness overload ❤️
Thanks 😊❤️
I love Rob Thomas and Star Wars!!
Thanks for the video guys! I would listen to a podcast, loved the one you were on earlier this week. Thanks for the motivation to keep on this plant based thing. Also that shirt is great Brian, one of my favorite books of all time.
I have had that shirt for a while but I was never able to wear it. That book actually changed my life. It is also just a great book! 😁
Ramble on. I love you guys. You make our day! You are not boring at all. You are very real and that is what we love.
I always thought the bear's name was Beef. Lol.
Yes! We want to hear your podcast! Please make it! Your videos are so good, and your podcast would be too!
I love Rob Thomas too! And Sidewalk Angels is a great organization!
As always fun and interesting video. Ok I’m curious how did Robb Thomas get Jessica to watch StarWars? ????
I love the answer to exercise...yep, it is the food.
Brian needs to make his podcast! I’ll subscribe. You guys are awesome and inspiring.
Podcast would be great.
I enjoy watching you guys! I am a plant based fail, most of the time, but I do try, at least some of the time.
You two are the sweetest couple! 😀
Thank you 😊
Aww we love you guys! I love watching your videos and hearing about how this lifestyle is for you! You both are so endearing!
OH MY GOSH! I Paused your video to listen to Rob Thomas and he IS amazing!! Thanks guys! I just love you kids!
Yessss Rob Thomas is the best. He's the real deal :D
You guys are awesome! Now get on that podcast!
God bless!
Happy birthday Brian 🎂🎁🎉
Love you two, you guys always make this old lady smile 😎 I have been WFPB since 3/1/2019 like you lovin’ it , never to return to the SAD way of eating. Plant Strong forever 🌱✌🏼
2 things in common!
Brian and I share a birthday.
Brian is the same age as my son.
Would love a Brian podcast and definitely want to know how Rob Thomas got Jessica to watch Star Wars! 😳
Enjoy all your videos! Keep em coming!
I am a podcast ADDICT!! Please, Brian! Make that podcast!!!
Thanks for answering the questions! That was great!
My husband and I met on MySpace too!☺ Loved this QandA, thanks for sharing.
Omg I love rob Thomas too!! Been to so many of his concerts. He’s so amazing.
Great video, right there with you on the giant salad! Thank you folks!
Yes, please, for the podcast!!
You guys are awesome, keep up the good work, the animals and the planet thanx you xxxx
Been watching all your videos since finding you a week ago. You guys are so inspirational! Thanks for all your time and effort! It’s truly appreciated! :-) This video actually answered many of my questions. Would you ever consider making a cookbook? That would be a must have for my kitchen. ;-)
#question
Your channel is great . Informative and just fun.
Yes podcast please!!!! You two are awesome!!
I’m so obsessed with you guys - you seem so down to earth and to genuinely just be enjoying this journey and your discovery of a whole food plant based diet! Cant wait for the Peef video 😂 long time coming!! ❤️❤️
I met my husband playing Everquest 2!
