"We've been here two years now. I live in the forest like an animal", says 16-year-old Bassit. Thousands of people like this young Ghanaian man attempt to pass through Morocco into Europe each year, enduring horrific conditions. At the Spanish enclave of Melilla, the EU has funded 11km of booby-trapped razor wire fences to keep them out. Those who jump the fence and avoid "holes in their heads and broken bones" end up in a detention centre designed to hold 480, crammed with over 1000 people. "The border is a brutal place with no law", says one interned migrant. "The EU give money to the Moroccan king, who sends his army to beat immigrants up. They've just washed their hands of it. That's a crime."

Someone is not being honest, why would you leave something as important as a passport in a tent to get burned, a wise man or 16yo child would keep the passport in their pocket, and if you say that statement is "racist" perhaps you are the "racist"..
Probably because their home country wouldn’t qualify them for refugee status.
If they have no passport, they cannot be deported. That's why they get rid of them. Plus, they often claim they are underage because children cannot be deported either. It's their common practice when they arrive in UK, for example.

@@NurseSnow2U I knew well quite a few immigrants from Africa who came to Europe illegally. They were all expected to send money back and bring other members of their families. I noticed some of them became disillusioned after spending years in Europe but no matter how hard they try to explain to their relatives that it is not that easy the message didn't seem to get across. I don't know how to explain this but people in their countries didn't seem to know or believe in for example working permits, permits to stay, the fact that legalization of their stay was next to impossible etc. They thought it is just lie in order for them to stay where they were because those who came to Europe became already rich and didn't want to share their wealth. The image of Europe were you get everything for free was so deeply engraved in their minds that it was impossible to change it.

Spain's political class has first promise to it's own people is to protect them. Borders must be secure. Europe is not a better land than Africa. Africa has resources and a ready work force. They need to put their heads together and invest in each other. Also, we know that Africa's leaders know what's happening with/to their people. They turn the other way and allow it to happen (mass migration) to help relieve their over populated countries. Like lightening the load so those left behind have a better chance.

In 2017 I wonder how they all are and doing? These men look very healthy, and some say their underaged. Today it’s been said, if you keep going from country after another, they are not refugees. The first place they entered and it’s a safe place they is where you stay. Your considered a illegal economic immigrant. It’s not that simple or worth your lives, time, and money to pay someone to help you. The reality is, there are no jobs, no more money, and no housing even IF you make to Europe. It’s simply near impossible.... And the shame some of the refugees say they will face if they return home, as your family has payed a lot to get usually the males to make this journey. There is no shame in trying. In a video, a African male was deported back to Africa, Kenya. And everywhere he went he was recognized as the one who went to Europe. As he tried to tell his friends and strangers that it not worth it. They still would say, I don’t believe you!! You have money and nothing you say will change my mind to try. His own mother was so upset she was shocked when she saw her son, and said, “we had hope in him leaving to send money back to us. We have nothin, and now it’s over.” Also there to greet him was his family of all kinds cousins, aunts, uncles were all waiting in line for gifts. And they may happen to anyone else being returned, but hold your head up high and accept the outcome....

Africa is a beautiful land. When all the African leave this RICH beautiful land. The Americans the European can build it up and it will be more beautiful than Europe.
