I remember there was a local pizza place that was around for 3 or 4 years they had a really good Detroit style pizza one of the things I get whenever I went. The thing that did them in was the prices way to high for what they were selling its a shame cause the food was good now that I've moved further upstate there's way more local pizza then i know what to do with.

Anthonys is great but you gotta try Klavons Jackson (vandercook lake). Best in the state for Chicago style. They even do BBQ chicken Chicago style and a few others. Best bread sticks too. You'll thank me later

I love buddies, their Italian salad is awesome. The crust is amazing. Agree, sometimes the sauce isn’t spread to cover the whole pizza, but that is kind of how Detroit Pizza is made.
So true about how light and airy the crust can be while still being a great bite. Honestly, I think they've improved their sauce technique, but wanted to give Dave an original for the spot. For me, the 4 square with green olives and bacon is heaven. oh and yeah...Go Blue!

The best pizza at Buddy's is the Detroiter. He is right about the lack of sauce though. There is so much cheese and buttery crust that you need more sauce to balance out the flavor.

You should review.....Beer Barrel Pizza ....in Lima, OH. Get the Italian meatlovers deep dish pizza. It's crust is a cornmeal crust. The pizza comes with sauce, cheese, Italian sausage, sliced, home made meatballs, roma tomatoes, pepperoni, and topped with basil leaves!! Sliced in triangles! It has good undercarriage!! Lol

It's stupid that they put stripes of sauce. The pizza from Buddy's in Portage/Kalamazoo, Michigan does not taste good and it's poorly made. You hardly see anybody go there because of it. Jet's Detroit Style is really the king in Michigan but now their 8 corner pizza is too damned expensive to get anymore.
