This actually makes a hell of a lot of sense when you remember Stroheim's character. The quotes are mostly Nietzche, who insisted that if mankind was to survive, it would have to become stronger - a species of conquerers, if you will - hence, more evil. Stroheim with his becoming a Cyborg quite literally embodies taking that mindset to heart. Like he says, he's become the peak and pride of German science.

I honestly love Von Stroheims character. Most pieces of literature use Naziism as an excuse for having an evil character without explaining exactly why they are evil. Literally, the greatest and most reliable side protagonist there has ever existed in the entire Jojo arc. This actually makes a hell of a lot of sense when you remember Stroheim's character.
The quotes are mostly Nietzche, who insisted that if mankind was to survive, it would have to become stronger - a species of conquerers, if you will - hence, more evil. Stroheim with his becoming a Cyborg quite literally embodies taking that mindset to heart. Like he says, he's become the peak and pride of German science.

I honestly love Von Stroheims character. Most pieces of literature use Naziism as an excuse for having an evil character without explaining exactly why they are evil. But Von Stroheim isn’t evil, despite being a Nazi, and I just love the change of pace. Plus, this takes place in 1936 or so, which was just before the true intentions of the Nazis became evident
